@ St.laz my bother received a kidney transplant while he was incarcerated. He was a couple days of being released completely and the medication that he was taken for his kidneys was highly toxic. The medical facility was suppose to keep eye on levels while on medication which they didn’t do cause him to be rushed to the hospital outside of jail still handcuff to bed. The toxins cause an fungus in his brain which landed him to have brain surgery as well he was killed by the hands of the system. He was and still remain in my heart a pure genuine person and on some real shit ain’t nothing out here walking that walk I happy you have encountered him. He was that way to many it’s a pleasure to hear your story.

The stories I heard growing up about Rikers Island made it the only place in New York I feared going to. It didnt stop me doing dirt, just made me more cautious of who I dealt with. I had a daughter in 1990 and I got a 92 on the CO test, but changed my mind a month before getting the job. I knew neither side of those bars I wanted any parts of.

Jail is str8 Bullshit. It’s one thing to be getting in fights with cats, same thing on the streets. The messed up part is not being with your lady/ children/ fam/. C/O’s telling you when to go to bed, when to get up, when to eat, not being able to go to the corner store anytime you want, eat what and when you want, and more. 2 weeks was more than enough of that shit for me.
