I discovered thrifting in 1984. I remember you could find dresses from the 20's, 30's and 40's so easily. These days it is almost impossible to find them but I did find a dress from the 30's the other day at the Goodwill for 5 bucks. It's a black maxi with beautiful beaded work around the shoulders and the bodice. I loved clothes and that's how I started thrifting and I didn't want to dress like everybody else and I was poor.
Woah!!!!! The 1930's dresses!!!!! My jam!
Vintage Liz Claiborne mid rise wide leg denim jeans for the win. I love them so much. Perfect in every way.
I love that I always learn something from you in like a friend way never talked down to or talked at. I imagine it would be so fun to shop w you or have you style someone’s wardrobe.
🥹🤗 thank you! Best compliment ever!
I just found this weekend at a Salvation Army a 100% wool Navy Blue, Vintage JG Hook Double Breasted Peacoat that was made in the USA and has the Union Made tag in it for under $7.00!!! The lining was perfect and the coat looked barely worn. I was shocked at my find!!!
Wear those vintage dresses Laura! 🤩
I really should 😂😅 I haven’t found my husband yet but I swear those dresses will be worn at my wedding 🤣
You have such a great eye for vintage! I love vintage but it’s really hard to find the good stuff here but I love looking!
Such a great video today!!!! Been thrifting since 1987 when I was 22, I’ve worn and found so many wonderful pieces over the years and love being different. Went to a family wedding in 2019, I wore an awesome vintage stretchy gown circa 1979, it was so comfortable and I got the side eye 👁️ so many times as I was not dressed like everyone else 😂 I think someone had sent out a message beforehand telling most of the women to wear THE EXACT outfit formula 😂
The blue set is stunning!
Those two dresses! Beautiful and great colors on you. Also the blue 2 piece.
Thank you so much for making this video. Everything that you have to say about vintage I take to heart and I apply it when I go Thrifting. It is such a passion of mine so I love hearing other peoples speak about it so enthusiastically.
Loved the "vintage" LauraVonV photos! You should do a style evolution video. It would be fun to see how and why your style changed over the last few years.
You're one of my favorites on YT and eBay! Great video!
I still think about my 80’s does 30’s dresses I wore in H.S., College, and work at the bank!!!!
Another great video and I am in love with that silk 2 piece blue outfit. OMG it's beautiful. Now I want to go thrifting.
I’m definitely a vintage lover, like you. The thing that can be challenging for me is that I’m on the curvy side. I’m 5 ft 7 in and bigger chested. I often find myself in the men’s section, definitely for shoes. I wear a women’s size 10 to 11. I love the high waisted men’s pants with huge pockets. Not to mention, men’s blazers, sweaters and tee shirts, etc. I love to mix feminine and masculine and aesthetics, as well. Long story longer, I enjoy your videos, especially the stying ones.
I’ve been thrifting since the 60’s
You just never know what you’ll find. 👍🏻😎
Excellent informative video Laura! Loved everything you wore especially the yellow dress. ❤❤❤❤❤❤ Hello from Australia!, 🇦🇺
Hi you have a great eye for vintage. New subscriber here!🎉
Boho was born in the 60s. I know I wore them. I'm a 68 year old hippie
Love this video. I am still wearing a blue tweed blazer that I bought in a thrift store in the early 1980s when I was in grad school. I got into thrifting because I was broke, too. Now I'm not, but at least half my clothes are second hand. It's always where I look first. That white cotton gauze dress is great. I LOVE cotton gauze.
One of your best videos ❤
Thank you!!! 🥹😊❤️
I am (almost) old enough to be your mother. Take this like a compliment from your mother or an aunt….. 😂You have such a cute figure and can wear anything!!!!! 😊😊😊
Ooooo this was a great video! Love those 2 maxi dresses that are your favs….gotta find some place to wear those at least a few times. I just found a suede camel fitted vest and some Vintage Armani navy trouser pants at the 1/2 off day at Salvation Army. Should’ve gotten the 100% silk Chaus blazer but it might still be there tomorrow…..small sizes sometimes don’t move as well. Fingers crossed. Just purged from my closet. So there is room for an upgrade here and there. Keep watching and listening for the cranes!
I don't think I ever found a piece that was older than the 1960's in a thrift store.
The oldest piece that I have in my closet is a cotton shirt that my grandmother bought in 1958. She wore this shirt on a daily basis but I'm afraid to wear it, so it's kind of an archive piece in my closet now. It's not fragile at all, actually it's incredibly durable, but I don't know, I'm scared lol
I have a few similar items from my grandmother. One is a knitted hat that I just love but feel the same way about it being so delicate yet totally durable 😅 At least it serves as good memories and reminders. I love seeing it in my closet when I catch a quick glimpse of it. 😊
Great eye for fashion❤🎉😊
I like in Florida, any recommendations to where to find thrift vintage? I can’t find a bin Good Will finds.
Oh I’m early 😁
🙌❤️
Trousers are a style, or type, of pants. We wear pants, OR trousers, not 'trouser pants'.
