As a nurse I can tell you we like micropore for the fact that it doesn’t remove our patients skin when we take it off. So It’s nice to know it has another wonderful use!
The flower steals the show, but the gold and your handwritten quote are a nice balance. Very pretty. TFS!

I love "painting along with you" in these days of social distancing, it really is nice to have a fellow creative by your side, talking story as I'm studying the illustrations of Inga Moore in The Secret Garden book And thank you for the micropore tape tip! gosh I work with it all the time and never thought to use it for art! I have also used multi-surface Frogtape, found in the painting section of Menards and such. Works great and doesn't damage the paper either.
That gold makes it pop even more

I’m a retired nurse and used paper tape for 37 years but NEVER with my watercolors! Great idea! Thank you! I enjoy using a soft paper called LannaAquarelle and most every tape pulls the paper up as well. ClaudiaSJI
I love the background technique done prior to the designs, and the fact that you are not trying to do this as a 5 minute project. It turned out very well! I am going to try the 3M tape! I had no idea, and have most of a box left over from an unfortunate "event"!

Wow! what a beautifil idea to have such a background. It makes it very precious. Your red flower has lots of strength, but soffened through the background, somehow makes it fuller and gives it more depth, very naturally. The gentle dots in gold, complete this absolutly beautifully. I just love it! I saved this to watch today after I slept off the sedative from my first cataract surgery this morning! (It went fine-don’t be fearful, anyone.) the worst part of the whole thing was getting the surgical tape off my face where the protective plastic guard was put on. Damn, it hurt! 😖 So your bit about the tape made me LAUGH!

I saw a video about two years ago where they suggested to use surgical tape, so I bought some and used it, and it tore my artwork to pieces. I was so shocked, because I thought I had found a solution.
that's odd. mine is the best tape i've used so far! i tried it on my sketchbook paper which is mostly cotton, then on the BeePaper that i usually use and this time it was on Arches watercolor paper and it is fantastic. i wouldn't use any tape to block over colors i've already painted but to tape your paper down to a mat, i think it's fantastic! maybe it was a different brand?
There is more than one type of surgical tape. Maybe the one you tried has more stick to it. The one that worked for me is very papery, almost like washi tape, not the fabric like one. Good luck if you try it again.
