To this day, we still haven’t figured out everything, but we did find out that Hoseok’s mother abandoned him at the carnival and left him with a candy bar (presumably Snickers.) So he has a phobia of Snickers Bars, except now that he has seen a picture/drawing of (probably) him and his mother when she was taking care of him as a baby, he overcame his fear and ate the bar he has been keeping in his pocket since he was young. So, when he was surrounded by candy bars in Fake Love, all of BTS’s rooms in Fake Love are their Phobia. Let me know if I’m incorrect on some parts.

I love how wings era songs combined there real life story’s, struggle and problems with the ones there characters in the story line have. Like Hobi is literally singing about his life and what a huge impact his mother had on his career, which is just already so emotional. But also we see his character that probably is also fitting some of the lines, like the possible lost of his mom and how he imagines things as a mentally unstable person.
The combining has, however, completely messed up searches online for later entrants to BTS! The filters don't make it clear what are true facts and what are fictional!!

Placebo is like a fake pill used to 'treat' patients who believe they have issues but actually don't. When he took it, he saw illusions. In his song he literally said that his mother was the placebo. So in these terms his mother made him see the world in a different way, it made him think outside of the box. (You can see him coming out of the room and that the room appears to be a box.) When he looked into the outside world from the 'box', it looked like he was in the forest, but when he opened the door, it just appeared to be a painting. These could represent J-Hope's problem solving skills. His problems appearing to be hard, but once you think outside of the box, it seems like nothing. Him eating the snickers and the pills falling out of his pocket can represent his mother's sweet love for him that he gladly took (the snickers). Once he ate it, a smile appeared on his face. Idk, this is just my idea on it. I'm only 12 so I probably got it wrong haha

An in-depth theory of MAMA. The series of short films in the wings album were inspired by the novel called Demian. In MAMA, J-Hope is seen within his “egg” surrounded by all-white cushioned walls-like a mental hospital-indicating to the viewer that he is not mentally well. A physician diagnoses him with Munchausen Syndrome, an emotional disease caused by trauma or sickness that can make an individual crave attention so much to the point that they are able to fake a real illness. The only cure for this disease is either consultation or medication. In the film, J-Hope is bombarded with many pills and an image of a cocktail made of medication is shown. The pills go from being a cure to the drug that becomes the catalyst for his insanity. After taking a pill, the chaos from within is released, represented in the form of the neon paint that is splattered around the room. With that, the process of growing up begins. His “wings” are then shown and he passes out from being overwhelmed. He awakens and stares lovingly at the painting from LIE (connecting him to his Sinclair, Jimin) which resembles the Garden of Eden. The garden symbolizes Eve or Eva, the embodiment of motherhood within Demian. Within the novel, Frau Eva comforts Sinclair with chocolate and in the film J-Hope is seen biting into a piece of chocolate as well. This gives him the strength to listen to himself and mature. I think bighit intentionally do that, eva is actuallu a character in damian book that acts like sinclair's mom and in the book he said that she always gives hin chocolate whenever he is sad/or cant sleep I forgot

theory: Hoesok's mother left him when he was young, at a carnival, with only a snickers bar (in Fake Love mv, you can see carnival rides, etc), so he was traumatized, and the event affected him, because he's in mental room, since he has "Munchausen Syndrome'' ("meaning a mental health problem in which a caregiver makes up or causes an illness or injury"). But usually it's treated with therapy, so the pills were probably anti-depressant pills, and the amount that spilled out either means that he keeps taking pills and overdosing (which explain why he collapsed in I need you) or it shows how depressed he is, since his mother left him. Like at 1:06, you can see he sees a wall, or the mental room is now covered in paint, so the pill hides him from reality(?) *Also did any of you guys see the wings at **1:19**? Just want to make sure if I'm the only one or not ;-;* Like Jimin in the Lie short film, it's like he's sort of running from the truth, so at 1:21, you can see feathers flying, which would be from a pillow, like when Jimin also thrashed his pillow in the air to believe that Hoesok was still there. And at 1:38, he fainted because he was overwhelmed (or he just overdosed, but idk). 1:46, you see he wakes up, which is when Jungkook called 'Hyung!' in the Begin Short Film, I think because Jungkook was trying to make all of them happy, so he called him out so he could wake up, and when Hoesok walked out of the room, he was looking at the painting, and took a bite of the snickers his mother gave him. And he smiles at what is shown on the painting, because he's been hiding from the truth the whole time, because he was scared of it, but the snickers showed him that his mom really loved him.
I honestly think that this is the best wings short film. Not just because J-hope is one of my biases I love the part when you only see him as a dark figure in front of the glowing paintings on the walls. I think it's so well done.

One of the most accurate Wings theories: The Wings album is a symbol of loosing innocence and loosing control of oneself. In BS&T, the first painting shown was “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, showing the angels falling from Heaven by orders from God, being chased by Archangel Michael because they have fallen for Lucifer, soon becoming demons against Archangel. When the statue of the Angel of Death was shown, Jin had fallen for it as well, demonstrating when V has smirked, possibly meaning that he was Lucifer, and showing how once he too had fallen, the world around him had also gotten out of control and into chaos. And once Jin cracks, he is no longer shown as a god, but showing how he has lost control of himself, no longer being the same. confused army Something I noticed was at first it was the same picture jimin was looking at, but then it changed to the mother and her child. The mother painting looks the exact same as the Polaroid photo Tae was looking at. Also when the painting changes, you can see Eva in the corner which is another connection to jimin’s story. Sorry for rambling, these are just some of the things I noticed.

An in-depth theory of MAMA.
The series of short films in the wings album were inspired by the novel called Demian.
In MAMA, J-Hope is seen within his “egg” surrounded by all-white cushioned walls-like a mental hospital-indicating to the viewer that he is not mentally well. A physician diagnoses him with Munchausen Syndrome, an emotional disease caused by trauma or sickness that can make an individual crave attention so much to the point that they are able to fake a real illness. The only cure for this disease is either consultation or medication. In the film, J-Hope is bombarded with many pills and an image of a cocktail made of medication is shown. The pills go from being a cure to the drug that becomes the catalyst for his insanity.
After taking a pill, the chaos from within is released, represented in the form of the neon paint that is splattered around the room. With that, the process of growing up begins. His “wings” are then shown and he passes out from being overwhelmed. He awakens and stares lovingly at the painting from LIE (connecting him to his Sinclair, Jimin) which resembles the Garden of Eden. The garden symbolizes Eve or Eva, the embodiment of motherhood within Demian. Within the novel, Frau Eva comforts Sinclair with chocolate and in the film J-Hope is seen biting into a piece of chocolate as well. This gives him the strength to listen to himself and mature. He leaves his “egg” and heals his own illness.

Like at 1:06, you can see he sees a wall, or the mental room is now covered in paint, so the pill hides him from reality(?) *Also did any of you guys see the wings at **1:19**? Just want to make sure if I'm the only one or not ;-;* Like Jimin in the Lie short film, it's like he's sort of running from the truth, so at 1:21, you can see feathers flying, which would be from a pillow, like when Jimin also thrashed his pillow in the air to believe that Hoesok was still there. And at 1:38, he fainted because he was overwhelmed (or he just overdosed, but idk). 1:46, you see he wakes up, which is when Jungkook called 'Hyung!' in the Begin Short Film, I think because Jungkook was trying to make all of them happy, so he called him out so he could wake up, and when Hoesok walked out of the room, he was looking at the painting, and took a bite of the snickers his mother gave him. And he smiles at what is shown on the painting, because he's been hiding from the truth the whole time, because he was scared of it, but the snickers showed him that his mom really loved him.

In BS&T, the first painting shown was “The Fall of the Rebel Angels” by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, showing the angels falling from Heaven by orders from God, being chased by Archangel Michael because they have fallen for Lucifer, soon becoming demons against Archangel. When the statue of the Angel of Death was shown, Jin had fallen for it as well, demonstrating when V has smirked, possibly meaning that he was Lucifer, and showing how once he too had fallen, the world around him had also gotten out of control and into chaos. And once Jin cracks, he is no longer shown as a god, but showing how he has lost control of himself, no longer being the same.
So you see, all the theories, are somewhat connected to the same idea of the Wings era.

Jhope is having a childhood trauma. His mom abandoned him with snickers on his hand :( in the end you see him eating snickers while looking at a painting that actually a painting of a mother and her child.
confused army Something I noticed was at first it was the same picture jimin was looking at, but then it changed to the mother and her child. The mother painting looks the exact same as the Polaroid photo Tae was looking at. Also when the painting changes, you can see Eva in the corner which is another connection to jimin’s story. Sorry for rambling, these are just some of the things I noticed.

Oh Hobi, they really put alot of thought into the promotions for this album. I love the song MAMA and the intention was so sweet to dedicate the first solo song to his mom. I know he had boy meets evil but I mean when they were working on this project and had to pick key words to work into the concept, he chose MOM.....insta tears
