I love mine. I have a very great friend who did me a huge favor the other day, he also is a custom knife maker. This is going to be a great present for him I'm planning to get for his ASAP.

i got one an hour ago and 1st impressions are very good, ordered 2 more for my two grandsons ages 6 and 10 so they can use their own knife. Ilike it's ergonomics, and so compact and light you can carry in your pocket without knowing it's there. I've just made some friction fire practice and works like a charm making the socket on the heartboard, looking forward to use it a lot in most tasks as possible.

Perhaps I missed it in your otherwise excellent review, but Wranglerstar notes the sheath fits over the handle to extend it. Thanks again!

Thanks for taking the time to utilizing the mora before presentation. I have 3 other Mora types for secondary and lending out on a trail exploring. Condor, mini bushlore has been great small carrier.

I got mine on a short paracord, so it sits high up on my chest.
You can also put the knife into the sheath backwards and increase your handle size by the way.

Thats what I've just done with mine, having it sit higher makes for easier access.

I was given this knife by a mate for Christmas with the neck carry kit. I didn't want it and couldn't see a use for it and now it's my edc! Incredibly sharp and strong with a thousand uses. I use it in the woods as a back up to my Garberg. I used a Ranger band to attach a ferro rod to increase versatility. Don't buy the neck kit as it's overpriced and it's easy to fabricate. Top blade, great review. Another home run for Mora!

Face it, it’s the Otsi knife updated from the copper age. It was a good little knife a few thousand years ago when he carried his, and the new version proves it. All things old...

If you put the knife into the sheath backwards (handle first), it will double the length of the handle.
Works great for folks like me with extra large hands.

Crashing through thin ice is a real problem in some artic/near arctic countries. These little knives can save your life by enabling you to pull yourself out - you ice pick into the ice shelf and drag yourself out. There is a limited time in which to act; in Sweden outdoors they often chest carry and we Yankees wonder why. (Arms flat on ice, pull one hand back for the knife, try not to slip back into the water.)

I expected mine to be delivered today. Alas, it will be Monday or so . . . . (Thanks for the great video). I will be taking mine on a thru hike of the CDT. Its a great neck knife in that regard as my pants/shorts have no pockets.

I like the companion knife concept. Nessmuk used a sheath knife and a large Moose pattern folder. I think that's a very useful system. I was thinking this would make a handy necker for in camp uses. I've lost a couple that worked loose from their sheath, so nowadays keep them in my pack until I am in camp, but a necker is great for making a quick cut, slicing stuff for dinner when I don't want to wear a sheath knife. My go-to necker is an ESKABAR. Other thing I was thinking...many communities have a 3" blade carry limit. this goes an inch better. This'd be handy for a gardener, carpenter, custodian, that might have their hands full and need to use one hand to acquire a blade for a quick trim cut.

For many riding the fence with regards to obtaining the MORA Eldris... Time to get one in hand and use it for a while... this is one of those knives that many in doubt may not see a use for from an academic taking sense...HOWEVER... real world in-hand practical terms === the versatility/utility, design/features, materials, quality, simplicity, ergonomics, dependability, manageability/handiness, package size/weight, 4-season usage, etc. THIS LITTLE KNIFE WILL REALLY GROW ON YOU!!! It also gets better over time tuning and honing from factory Q/C (if you are capable/respectable/mindful tuning up the edge). My video on the Mora Eldris is an at length assessment... WINGMAN you are right, it takes time to become practiced or familiar with any tool. This one most certainly has a place in the outdoor or edc segment... not just sales gimmickry.

Hey john,I got a tomahawk I wonder if you could do a review on,it's called the m-48 liberator infantry tomahawk on amazon for about 50.00,like most of the m-48 hawks I don't like cause of the handle, but this looks promising an wicked bad, we'll anyway ty,an great review on the eldris

@@Wingman115 ,I'm wondering the Same thing, but the tang does go a little further down than most of the m-48 line ups an the s.o.g hawks except for the exception of the survival hawk s.o.g amen out with, people hated it,but I loved mine until it got stolen,I was gonna make a video on it until that happened for a full review, I have a couple of videos of me throwing it on my channel, it was great, but any who,I believe it could be worth the 50.00,wondering how it'd do on wood splitting an penetrating task for extractor for first responders an such an that spike looks mean, hope it can withstand smashing bricks,we'll ty for listening bro.

I love Mora but I'm really put off by this product and usually I defend them, I purchased the Garberg for $56 back in December when Amazon had them on sale an awesome deal I couldn't pass on. Now after 4 months its my main edc and today I would pay the $75 price point because its worth it, not just because it is a great tool but because its more knife a real deal premium blade.
This is not a dis on your video brother so don't take this personal cause I love your channel.
When they released the Bushcraft black the price point IMHO was ridiculous and still is, the Bushcraft black material wise, was no different than knives they already had or discontinued. The Companion HD had the same steel, thickness and stick tang but no 90° spine, but coming in at $15-$19 5 minutes with a file is no problem. Its funny cause people paid $40-60 on the Black yet complain about the Garberg which is not much more but way more knife material wise and design for your money.
Ahhhh, then we have the "Kansbol" this really awesome supposedly new knife that cost $30-$49 depending on the sheath system. Funny thing is the Kansbol is just the Mora 2000 and also the discontinued Bushcrafter with a different handle, the 2000 is $26 all day long sometimes less.
Now to sum up this long comment and I'm sorry but it does need to be said, the Eldris is the last two inches of a Mora Light My Fire knife but cost $25 to a total rip off of $39 with its sheath system. The LMF KNIFE is $17.00 at my local Wilderness Outfitters, comes with more blade and a fire steel for $7 less!
The Eldris is the biggest scam but honestly Mora has been playing paint the house for awhile now. I don't hate Mora matter of fact I love their products and have bought 5 knives in the last 4 months or so, but they better be careful cause fans like me are watching and our opinions matter also our wallets.
