First class dude. Saw Left to Die here in Paris last week, and it was awesome. Gus playing every drumbeat to perfection, Matt being the top frontman he is, Terry solid as fuck on bass, and Rick doing the almighty whammy divebombs like it's 1988 again 🤘
Exactly, saw em in Warsaw, Leprosy all over again, great show!
Terry’s a really nice dude, met him once. Can’t wait to see Left To Die!!!!
Cool interview... when spiritual came out it blew a lot of minds Chuck and James traded some awesome leads on that record glad I got to see that lineup live, was a bummer when James left when they came back around with Albert it wasn't as good, the human tour was ridiculous good
Met Terry in Reading PA in 2021 & he was super cool spent time hanging talking gear and bands. Awesome dude big fan of TB 🙌🤘
I love Murphy’s playing on that album.
It's crazy you got all these side dudes from every Death album to interview. It's definitely helping me go back and fill in the gaps I had to only imagine back in the day. A+
Thanks man! Was fun as hell to do
I worked for METALIZED mag in Denmark and got to interview TERRY at the venue prior to the show. This was a hard time for him, as he said; to be cancelling would have great repercussions and perhaps lawsuits, so they decided to go anyways.I didnt get to see their performance, and frankly didnt care, since Chuck wasnt there. I was interviewing Mille from Kreator While DEATH was performing. But BILL was nice, even under these Strained happenings...! R.I.P Chuck....
caught him outside the tour bus in SD late 90's
Signed my, ticket "Terr Butt"
True Legend ,
sick show
Met Terry a fair number of times when Obituary and Inhuman came to town (within the past 5 years ish), really sweet dude! Great interview
Thanks man!
A Death / Pestilence / Carcass tour. That must have been awesome.
Another really interesting interview. Walter Thrashler signed my ticket outside the Top Hat in Dun Laoighre in Dublin. Seemed cool but I had no idea why he was playing guitar in death that night. We didn’t know Chuck wasn’t showing up until a bit before the show. All I knew was pull the plug anyway as I had recorded it off a friends copy of Leprosy on tape. Mostly I just remember a crazy mosh pit and the bouncers being pretty rough on scrawny little crowd surfers like me. Kreator were on fire as well.
Terry is a Legend!
BTW, Louie Carrisalez was the singer on this tour- Europe with Kreator. Louie was an ex drummer for Devastation , a band from Corpus Christi TX.
great interviews!
I actually saw them on this tour over 30 years ago in Copenhagen- Denmark. Was sick for a youngster like myself....
I deathinitely appreciate this!
These are really great interviews! Any chance you can get Chris Reifert, Shannon Hamm, Richard Christy, the great DiGiorgio?
Ya I’ll upload Richard Christy next! He was on part 5 of our Death podcast series if you don’t want to wait. Just look for it on our podcast feed. Haven’t been able to get the others yet but hopefully 🤞
Great Guy on Bass, He played on Death and then Massacre, and Leprosy to Spiritual Healing were the best eras ever in Death that was the best in Death Metal So far two Great Albums by the way🙂☠🤘.
man james murphy explained it completely different how he (james) and chuck met and how he came to join death
loVE LEPROSY AND SH i listen to therm everyday ,really!. the other albums are fine but those 2 are mt favs because I was 16-17 I think :)
Awesome!!! 😎 👍
I saw the Carcass /Carnivore tour here in Mass at the Church House Inn. Got to meet and talk with a lot of the guys. Weird place to play but rhat show was off the hook. I think Carnivore had Visa issues and couldnt pkay. Memory is foggy.
Chris Reifert must be really hard to get hold of for an interview about Death. I mean, Scream Bloody Gore C'mon.
What is the intro music?
Ah it’s actually the intro to an ancient song the 3 of us from the podcast wrote. 🤘Don’t think it’s online anywhere tho
Word did not get around in any "community" .. Bill and Terry sprung this cold on every European date. No one knew that Chuck would not be appearing - check the press, Metal Forces, Kerrang, Metal Hammer, nothing was mentioned. These guys wanted to go to Europe for fun, that's fair enough - Terry should call it what it is ... Blaming it on a tumour in 1991?? Come on!
That tour without Chuck was ABYSMAL. I was at the show. It was a complete and utter train wreck. Like a bunch of roadies on stage filling in for a band.
There’s a youtube video about the Lyon show in France. Sounds pretty decent to me and the crowd’s really getting into it…..
