- Foreign ministers from a group of emerging economy nations, known as BRICS, are meeting in Cape Town.
Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa are expected to discuss the expansion of the bloc.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov is among those attending.
More than a dozen nations have expressed interest in joining the group.
BRICS nations have positioned themselves as an alternative to western geopolitical dominance.

Seeing what the Evil West did to Zimbabwe and now Russia, the advise I would give to my government is to start Delinking the Rand/ZAR from the Dollar and Link/backed it to our mineral resources we have ,i.e. Gold, Diamond, Platinum, Iron Ore, Coal, Natural Gas, Sun and etc).
This way, we will be able to use our own currency or BRICS DIGITAL CURRENCY backed by these natural resources to do business with each other. Believe me, this is the most effective weapon against the West hegemony.
I highly doublt they are going to arrest Putin. Russia is a major trading partner for South Africa, and cultural ties are strong since the USSR helped fund the anti-apartheid movement.

It's a nice idea with too many flaws. BRICS is inherently doomed. The dollar economic system needs serious competition to improve functionality and provide financial services to more who need it. BRICS is run by the Saudis in tight cooperation with the Chinese. The Saudi and Chinese governments are notorious for unethical, predatory business practices. I can see how they, like their dollar counterpart, will abuse the new system to control and enslave weaker states. This is a sad thing.
