For a date night, I'm impressed. It's fun to dress nicely and have a great meal. Thank you for this. The food looks fabulous but the company is what makes it memorable
I remember going to the luau with my family as a young girl. Everyone sat together at long tables, and the food was delicious. The show was phenomenal. It was such a magical experience. Afterwards, I rode Space Mountain, which was brand spankin’ new and was a much faster and intense ride when it first opened. It was also more uncomfortable as two people (in your group) had to ride together and the one in the front had to sit between the legs of the one in the back. If you were by yourself, you sat with your legs stretched out in front of you. My advice: never eat your fill of rich food and then go on a roller coaster. That being said, it was definitely worth it and is one of my favorite memories!!
My husband and I had such a memorable 30th anniversary dinner at Ohana and loved our stay at the Polynesian as well. The staff is amazing! Thanks for sharing and sending us down memory lane once more. ❤️😊

I hit Ohana hard and my stomach did not appreciate it for hours. I made a TikTok to commemorate my misery 🤣🤣. Don’t forget you can ask for to go boxes for the food you still have on the table! They are really small plastic containers but they work! 👍 left over noodles are the best! Love the video and thanks for bringing us on your date night!! ☺️
Some times the best spots to see the fireworks is sometimes when there’s no one around but The one that you love and that’s you Jackie and Sam so thank you for showing me a wonderful place to see fireworks but also be with someone that I love without anybody else around
My family went to the Spirit of Aloha all the way back in 2003. It was our first family trip to WDW. We stayed at the Poly and did everything. Hoop Dee Doo, all the parks plus water parks. My youngest who is 22 was not even 4 when we went. Boy time flies. My trip back to the Poly in September is our first time staying there since 2003. What a beautiful property. Dreaming of the Polynesian.😎👍🏻🌴🌴

Spirit of Aloha was ALWAYS a "must do" on family vacations when I was young and later with my own kiddos😎It include ALL the Mai Tai's you could drink, and they were strong!🤣🤣🤣 Moved to Florida 24 years ago and still enjoyed it often💚

That food looked good! One little tip for you guys and anyone else, When dealing with noodles or spaghetti, with the fork spin the noodles inside the spoon. Makes it so much easier. Bon Apetit! 🍝

You guys are so great together. Last time we ate at Ohana was in 2001 when you guys were probably still in school. They served the food on skewers at the table like a Brazilian restaurant. The kids ran round the tables chasing coconuts with brushes and yes we saw the show outside....memories

This is so hopeful I got an ohana breakfast reservation and a kona cafe reservation because I have seen your videos and to watch the fireworks and I can’t wait this makes me excited to eat at these places. I saw the aloha show in 2019 and it was great food and show.

Another great blog ‘Jacki! We’ve been to Ohana for breakfast but have not been there yet for dinner. Other than the shrimp, everything looked really good. We had been to the spirit of aloha show some years ago and it was a great event to attend. It made you feel like you were in the Polynesian Islands. 👍🏻🙂❤️

I'm glad you guys had a fun experience. My husband and I went there for the 1st time during the 1st week of March 2022 and it was a ghastly experience. The food was cold and bland, we were seated about 40 minutes after our reservation, and the only saving grace was the bread pudding at the end of the meal. Worst $300 some spent. :( I'm sure we just caught them on a bad night but we will not be back.
Love this video! My husband and I are empty nesters and love doing date nights on Disney. Last Monday we celebrated our wedding anniversary on Topolinos, and it was amazing just hanging out at the Riviera and not the parks. Would love more videos like this to get more ideas.
I did experience the Luau in 1978 with my family and again in '81 on my honeymoon. The food was really nothing special, as Pan-Asian cuisine had yet emerged on the scene. Offerings were the standard pork, fried rice and chow mein-type veggies. But the best part about the luau was the hard-working, fabulous performers! And the second time I was at the show, I recognized some performers from 3 years before. The area where the luau took place was serene and "secret", just like some spots in Hawaii. I suppose a trip to Aulani might be just the ticket to experience a true luau with the Disney flair. And surely the food offerings will be much more exciting as well! Again, your date night video of Ohana was so lovely and you and Sam truly made the Polynesian look as special as it always was, is and hopefully, will be
