Dvorak's greatest quartet, just full of lyricism and genius. It's less Bohemian in character and drawing more on the classical tradition of Beethoven, Brahms, Haydn. Brilliant counterpoint, a fantastic scherzo. The Poco Adagio (a tempo marking Brahms used for slow movements) might be Dvorak's greatest slow movement -- the ending brings tears every time I play it -- ione of the most beautiful moments in all the string quartet literature.
what a wonderful performance, and what a treat to have the score to follow along with! THANK YOU!
Amazing! You completed the collection of Dvorak's string quartets. Congrats!
Beautiful quartet btw
Beautiful quartet (and very well played). Thanks for uploading.

Dvorak zeigt sich hier als ga no großer harmonischer Meister
That triplet motif in the opening sounded like Mahler's trumpet solo from his 5th... Or I just listened to that symphony so much
well mahler based that off of beethovens 5th, soo.... technically dvorak was inspired by Beethoven if that's the case
🤤🤤🤤
