Very good, specially for traveling. I have an old sewing table where you can attach a sewing machine to the hinges and flip it down through the big hole to store underneath, and the side piece of wood flips on top of that. My sewing machine didn't fit it, so I took off the folding side wood and attached the Addi King to one side and screwed the smaller (Centro) on the other side, so both machines sit over the entire hole and my pieces can continue dropping down through the hole. Works for me. : )
Clever idea! I agree about clamps getting in the way of knees! I have some chopping boards I don't use somewhere. Handy son with drill and I will be sorted! Thanks! I have loads of that non slip mat stuff from when I had a mattress slipping off the base! I now have a use for it. Yes!! Hurray!!
My Addi arrived the other day and I have had a play with it. I've found that using a small folding table with the clamps at the back solves the scratched knee problem though I will try out your solution which looks perfect. Another thing I found is that I won't be able to turn that handle for more than a few turns before I have to rest so I have ordered a converter. I already have an electric screwdriver though I won't be going very fast with that. I am a slow knitter! But it willl mean I can work long pieces. Actually I have another of those little tables so I could use the two to let the work drop to the floor. On another video I saw a lady using one of those salad spinner bowls to catch the work on the floor as, when it turns, it will turn in the bowl and not get twisted. It wouldn't work with the board though. There are so many good ideas about.
THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I have been looking for a solution for years!! Made this and it works amazingly!!
Glad it has helped x
Th is for the video. I just got my Addi XL and made one of these. I like to work on my lap while watching tv so this is perfect.
