Was just about to take my jeep in for service on this, found this video, went to auto-zone for the fuse: $5.39, and I'm back in business. You sir, are a lifesaver. Not sure what the original issue was, so it may blow again, but my blower is working well - fwiw I'm maxing it at 1/2 speed just to tread lightly. THANKS for the great vid.
F13 was the culprit for me as well, stopped working on one of the hottest weeks. Went to autozone $5.44 Funny part is before I watched your video I looked at this fuse, but it’s really hard to tell if it’s broken. I pulled it out took off the plastic cover and it was indeed broken. Thank you!!!
Thanks Great video. I went after the motor 1st as I have replaced them on other vehicles. When I opened the fuse cover there was a white dust on it in the same area as the fuse and blower motor relay. mind would work for 5min then quit for 1 day, but today it died completely hottest day of the year.

Now the fuse was burnt out so there is the possibility that it may burn out again if the problem is coming from somewhere else......but for now I have heat since we just got our first snow of the season.....
Hey Jill. Glad I was able to help. They may have been correct, like you said, because the fuse was blown and not broken like in my example. The motors are known to draw excessive amperage as they wear out. Thanks for the positive vibe.
I know this video is old but thank you for helping me find the fuse right away and not trying to decipher the diagram. Also, silly goose! You have a little fuse puller in your fuse box. 😜
Thanks a ton! Your video helped me solve my problem. For me it wasn't the fuse but the connector under dash was loose. But this video definitely helped me out. Thank you!
Hello ! Great video !! I tested a new fuse and no power is going to the fuse. Changed relays and all - do you know what could be the problem that the fuse is not getting power ?
Not off the top of my head. I believe Alldata has a DIY rate for access to wiring diagrams and repair procedures. Check that out and let me know how you make out
Great video. Thank you. My 2014 Overland works sometimes and sometimes it does not. I am fairly certain that my issue is with the module based on the intermittent nature of the problem. I just picked up a new module today. Quick question, do you happen to know what type of hardware (2 screws) is holding the module in before I crawl in there? Is it torx, phillips, or something else?
Pwrtrash, please advice if this fixed your issue. My 14 Wk2 has been experiencing the same issue over and over again. I've replaced the fuse 3 times and it only fixes it for a cpl months or sometimes a day. I'm going to replace the module. Can you advise what part it is and if it was an easy fix. Also if it did the job?
I have the same year Grand Cherokee. A few years ago, the air just quit. Originally, I would unhook the cable going into the blower motor and plug it back in. The air would kick on. This would happen every few days. I got tired of doing this. So one day, I just started knocking on the panel where the blower motor is, and it started working again. So once I figured out that that would get it to start working again, that's all I would do. A little easier than removing the panel to unhook the cable. But now I'm getting tired of having to reach over there to bang it. So my question is do you think I need the blower motor or the module? Thanks
Also, the side of my fuse is blackened and the fuze is open. So, if something is blowing the fuse, how do I determine if the Blower Control Module is bad? I think I can figure out if the blower motor is bad but not sure how to test the Blower Control Module. I assume for the blower itself, I can check the amperage draw. You said it should be around 17 amps. Thanks!
I would do an amp draw test on the blower. 17 amps is about right. A darkened fuse case would probably suggest an overheating issue caused by high draw, just not enough to blow it.
@@SAAutoRepair I ran an amperage test. It was between 19.9-20.9. I ran it for 20 minutes and it didn't really increase over time. It was a little higher (0.5) if I ran the AC.
