Can we all take a moment to realize how much of a hero shin was in this video. The madlad jump in the way to stop the fish from getting to close to the toxic waste knowing just what it did to him and spared it from the same horrifying fate.

Shin Godzilla is indeed powerful, but also the most tortured of the godzillas.
His body is disproportionate, he is in constant agony, every strep he does or move he makes results in his body nearly tearing itself apart.
It certainly looks that way. Shin Godzilla was hauling ass to reach the fish in time, and once he saw that the stash was untouched, he went on ahead.

Fun fact : Gojira was supposed to be a mixture of Gorilla and Whale to compete with King Kong but when the design for Gojira was made, it was rejected so they make it look more like a Lizard instead
