Loy Machedo. What the fuck did you do to your God gifted face? Do you realize that person will not be able to enter the paradise if he/she has tattoos on his/her bodies? Do you realize that having tattoos can cause MRI complications and many chronic disease, because tattoos block several functions in human body.

I was born, raised, resided in the UAE for whole my life. Being from an origin country that's suffering from a constant war. It frightens me they want to cancel my Visa and throw me to a place I know nothing about in a middle of constant warzone, questioning my upbringing, and my existence, remembering that I used to chant the UAE's national anthem every morning everyday in school. Still being treated like this is pretty horrible and upsetting.

Fully agree with what Loy has to say, went to Dubai in 1999 with job with Mashreqbank at AED 14,000/- pm, when I left in 2008 my salary was AED 42,000/- pm of course with a different bank (UNB) and 2 promotions. Started as Senior Officer with Mashreqbank left as Vice President ; UNB, I felt most of what Lou says and also what 1 ex American Express Bank boss concluded and told me while driving around Dubai. Since 2008 I am in Canada with a regular permanent job not as high paying as in Dubai however the best part is that my son like me is working as a professional Banker here in Canada

This was brilliant and seemed very genuine and true. Please do more such on other issues, day Thailand, current job situation in India etc. And you deserve way more views and likes. Thank you very much for this, brilliant video.. Its worse than capitalism, its ruthless exploitation. The west has capitalism, but there is a certain degree of regulation that protects rights. I invested a lot of money in Dubai, through an advert in London, where I live. Sounded very respectable, brilliant advertising. Its all gone, no replies to all my requests. The adverts are still there, and people are getting sucked in.

Travelled back in 2013 looking for a job there got the job but somehow i did’nt felt good about Dubai. I thank my stars that i took the right decision to not to pursue with that offer of 5000 AED. A friend of mine working with RAK Bank is still sitting at 5000 AED for the past 9 years no appraisal nothing, dubai people is living in a delusional world and they have no choice yo move anywhere because of the addictive fake lifestyle of Dubai.

Finally I hear someone talk about something I strongly feel every day of my life.
We expatriates basically belong nowhere. And that feeling of not belonging..that feeling of not having anywhere to go, of not being able to call any place "home". Thats the most terrible feeling ever. When you go back to you home country but it looks foreign. When your own relatives feel strangers. And you can't even turn around and come back to where you grew up because there is nothing left there.

I've been 12 years in Abu Dhabi and all most a year in Dubai and I saw and suffered every single thing you talked about, in less than a year in Dubai I found jobs three times and none of them I stayed at more than 4 months for unreasonable reasons .. The last job I had I lost it because the boss just didn't like me, so he was just looking for troubles with me to just find a good reason to fire me ..
Thank you very much for stressing these reasons ..

"it literally kills you" the hardest and bitterest part is being forced to leave a country where you spent 3, 5, 10 or even 20 years with all you unforgettable memories, friends. just seems like you whole life, then finding yourself in another country completely new to you... i am telling you from personal experience, the thoughts and flashbacks of your time in UAE will haunt you forever,
10 years is a big part of one's life, and i know for fact tens of thousands of other people from different nationalities are in the same situation just like me, forbidden to go near a place that was once their whole world, with memories in every street, corner ,and every bit of that world has a piece of them...........
you could do this with an animal, take them from country to country and even them with take a bit to adapt, not with human beings,,, i say this only happens when you give power to the devil.

You forgot to mention probation period for jobs.Your employer can terminate your employment at any time before six months with no excuse,no notification.Once you are terminated before six months u automatically get a one year labour ban from the ministry of Labour.
Most employers will terminate u once they discover their business is not lucrative, what happens to the employee?suffering, ban, stress, look for new job must be skilled with higher salary. This happened to me,it was hell.

I'm local from dubai, what you said is 100% true. But the thing that gets on my nerves is that workers get their passport taken away from them. Sometimes, the work grants them a visit home once every two years. This is modern slavery and i wish they'd make a protest against the government and make dubai ruled by the UK or the US. People are so shitty there tbh.

It's very very hard and complex to understand what is wrong and what is right.. I came here 6 years ago I am single my siblings and mother is very happy that I am helping... A lot of things are true. The point is it's not Dubai government fault you are living in uae its your own country fault. There is no Chinese here in uae because they have jobs in their own country.. In Pakistan India these type of country's economy depends on that money people sending from outside in India Pakistan Bangladesh government and people promote working outside making money.. I am Pakistani I am happy because my siblings are studying and living very well in Pakistan because of me. But I am sad and hopeless because I am sacrificing myself.. I have no degree just came here as a worker and still working as a low level worker. Dubai other countries built on modern slavery... No doubt not Arab fault at all...still have a lot of things in mind but I can't say I don't know how to start and how to end.. Stay in your own country work hard and make your country great for you and and for your kids and generations...

I am an indian.I have never been to any other country.but I have my friends and classmates who went to Dubai. They shared their experiences which are similar to what you have said in this video.
I want to answer few issues raised in the video,
    1. You said Housing rent is expensive almost 60-70% of your earning.
I believe same is with Delhi and Mumbai.
    2. You said hospitals opt for cesarean section to make money.
It exists in most metro cities of India also.
    3. You said education is expensive and not recognised in most part of the world. And teachers salaries are less.
Same here, Ask an engineer here in India.
But Dubai is safe for women and children especially in late night.
There will not be any curroption , no demand for bribes.
That's why my fellow Indians are moving abroad on the pretext of studying master's degree and settling down there.
Thanks for sharing your nearly 40 years experience and thoughts.

Have a record of placing 108 satellites in a single go. We are one of the fastest growing economy in the world. None of them is UAE. I've seen many foreign people studying here in IIT and IIB. I've not seen anybody going to middle East to do their research or studies in Science and Technology. If you like UAE, why not leave to there? Luxurious country with a lot of oil money.

Those were 10 great reasons. Specially, what are you going to do when you have to leave. As you said in a previous point, Dubai is like a bubble. For a number of reasons, when you've got to go, where are you going to go? What are you going to do? Similar to Los Angeles, "limited income and unlimited rent", lifestyle and temptations to spend haven't allowed you to save. Thank you for giving us all a dose of reality from outside the bubble.

If you live your life listening to everybody telling you Why you shouldn’t do certain things then you’ll never get anywhere in life.
I moved to the UAE very late in life...... (43 years of age) and the reason is exactly what I mentioned above - me listening to what people had to say and not living my Own Life!
Yes it is expensive, yes the market is not doing that great, but it’s much worse in the country that I come from. Saying that, I lead a Good life in the UAE. I make good money, I travel the world, which I couldn’t do before and most importantly I can Save, which is something I couldn’t do back home.
So before you allow people to make decisions for you, go out into the world and make things happen!
There are endless opportunities out there 🤓

Now as for the youngsters, let them move to the UAE, live & work for a few years. Let them be as frugal as possible and get out as early as they can. My views as an expat here:
    1) cost going up: rent is coming down but stupid made up charges are increasing. I’ve had 2 parking tickets with no date or location on. Groceries are artificially high in my view. Petrol is cheap but car costs are high.
    2) job security: I’ve noticed that if you’re in the corporate clique (Lebanese, Egyptian, Indian, Pakistan etc) you can be artificially protected even with underperformance when management bring in their “own”. But I’ve also heard of lots of people not being paid. The job market in corporate is not very good at the moment.
    3) agreed that it’s pretty closed off, and there really is not a lot to do here in summer unless you like parties or shopping.
    4) definitely I have experienced corporate racism, both in a corporate office, and also with clients who are middle eastern, but do not like working with certain ethnicities. (I’m British, they don’t like us much).
    5) I’ve still seen some good incomes and I get 200k a year housing and 45k car, these packages still exist in global corporates.
    6) agree, I know many people who have been here for years and have no savings, even in the corporate world.
    7) sudden expense: can be if you dint budget well, I’ve not yet been caught out.
    8) leaving; yes this is a problem especially with bank accounts being frozen, plus any debts.
    9) legal; as above
    10) children: totally agree, some of the children I see and hear around the more affluent areas are horrendous, you could not bring them back to the U.K. and fit them in, they’d be bullied to death for being such spoiled little shits.

Institutions are promising for the job but if we are asking in writing they remain silent. Thanks to one of my frnds who explained me about jobs in Dubai so I cancelled the plan. We come to abroad to earn money and good life style but if it results in low savings then that would be worst decisions of life. And as you said if we go to home country after 60 and with lowest Savings which may be enough to spend retirement there but if we stayed in home country we may have saved more than that and moreover we need someone who would love to be with us but as we are NRI's most of them don't care. Some of rules are just absurd,we lived there for one year that’s all we could bear ,once my husband came to pick me up from a saloon ,poor guy came inside to ask but the ladies at the reception quickly usserd him out ,even though there was a waiting area ,he was baffled.then we found out men are not allowed inside spas etc.needles to say he never picked me up again🤔

Very sincere video, so sad to hear how they treated and paid employees differently based on the color of their skin and where they came from and the disparity of salary between migrant/expact workers versus locals. It's so sad to hear your pain of not able to go back to the community you grew up. Your video is an excellent alert with contrasting view and perspective because we often hear about the good and luxurius life style of Dubai. Thank you for sharing.

In simple terms I wanna say that in Dubai, we can earn 100% and spend 100% but education is 0%.

the 5% tax is crazy. Businesses in Dubai don't bother to even give change now like 25 or fifty fils. From 1st January i have lost around 11 dhs by business's not having change or no existence of 5,10.15 fils coins. I know this is not a lot of money but if you take it long term; its actually a lot of money.

We have this same problem in the UK, a lot of items are 99p or £1.99 or £2.99 etc and some street vendors won't bother to give you back the 1 pence. Now over a lifetime that adds up. I must have lost a good £10 at least from this.

Dude, i salute u to have the balls to say all this on a social platform. And every word u spoke is true to the core. I was in Dxb in 2007 but understood the situation very soon nd left it in the middle of 2008. In 2007 my rent was 400 aed which hiked to 1500 aed and like u said theres a slab beyond which u cant get a hike so i felt the same since i was in a similar situation. I think people are only in Dxb to earn some money to go back to their home country and start a small business or save enough for their future.
Very inspiring video. Do keep up the good work. Cheers

I'm so attracted to you, its not really the tattoos, its the contrast of them together with ethnicity, intelligence, charisma, and energy, it stands out. I love that someone whos appearance many might find intimidating and sinister , is on the contrary am individual who is driven by changing the inequality of mankind and trying to honestly bring awareness to make the world a better place.
