Everyone seems to d1 interrupt all my stances as Lars, even if I try to rarely use them. It beats armour as well. I know its about conditioning the use of stances but what if the opponent is very familiar with Lars and knows to just d1 everything? Any advice?
I play a little Lars but I’ve labbed and played him to the point he’s Shinryu, but yeah like you mention a lot of his stance transitions are interruptible. Keeping your opponent in check with his neutral tools is an integral part to his gameplan I think, preventing them from interrupting your stance by using his moves out of stance like df1, db1,3, … 2,1 LEN … db4… ff4,2 into DEN… but simply put he has a lot of strings that transition into stance that can be useful when getting your opponent to respect your stance transitions. He can also cycle out of forward DEN or SEN into DEN, so you can whiff punish people if you expect them to mash you out of stance, but I think the main thing is setting up your offense by using certain strings into stance, baiting your opponent into setups, and he even has f3+4 in heat that basically gives you frames into SEN for mixup, uninterrupted in some matchups. If you’re getting interrupted a lot you’re probably using the wrong setups in certain situations or matchups… Again I’m sure the question was intended for the literal GoD Lars 😭, but I hope that gave a somewhat fresh perspective 🤷♂️
