- This is one of my favorite creations. Everything came together beautifully. Frank's version of "Moonlight Serenade" is gorgeous and it never sounded better. The song was written by Glenn Miller in 1939. The video is a scene from the 1937 movie "A Damsel In Distress" with Fred Astaire and Joan Fontaine. Rendered in widescreen and tinted, the lyrics of the song and their dance routine compliment one another perfectly. (Edited at a variety of speeds)

Been a longtime fan of both Frank Sinatra/ this general era of music and bayonetta so it’s cool to see people discovering it again

Well, that was just as I'd remembered it - perfect! The lyric has quite a few words which end with a "t" and Mr. S enunciates every one of them - " moonlight, night, gate, wait and more, all crisp, clean and somehow never contrived. He was in particularly good voice on the entire album, Moonlight Sinatra, and exquisitely supported by Nelson Riddle's arrangements.

This really hits different after the end credits of Bayo 3 doesn't it.
The orchestrations sound to me like Nelson Riddle's.

Thank you Scott for creating this musical and choregraphic masterpiece! I am so filled with a myriad of emotion that I will need time to process this. It takes me to better time when things were simple and family oriented and love. Even though I was born in the 60's, Frank Sinatra epitomizes world class male standards. Fred Astair, along with Gene Kelly is the dance standard as well. It takes me to the years of the greatest generation of people who graced this earth. I think my eyes are finished swelling up and I have recovered.

Could you imagine Sinatra fronting the Glenn Miller orchestra singing this lovely tune back in the 40s? He's older with more of a baritone sound but I think it would have been magical.

What is bayonetta? Ella Fitzgerald also has a beautiful version of this 1939 masterpiece. Glenn Miller did the original.

I just came across this video looking up some old songs. I am speechless & a bit teary-eyed after watching such a beautiful song with one of my favorite dancers!! Wow just magical. I am familiar with the song from the Glen Miller band but never knew there were lyrics!! Oh my goodness...the lyrics are so beautiful!! ❤ This is what truly beautiful was...CLASSIC. Joan Fontaine. The film is Damsel in distress. Fontaine was terrified as she was no dancer so this is what Fred cam up with to help her through her terror!
