    I tried to do a circle crochet with the magic circle and just can't seem to get it. I've watched other videos on how to do circles but I can't seem to do it right. My first scarf (used 5mm) turned out really well. I'm using 8mm hook for my grandmother's scarf, it's super plush, and something I noticed about the Bernat velvet as opposed to Yarn Bee velvet, Bernat seems to be less full/fluffy. It's still really nice though.

    Such a beautiful piece. Can you make the adjustments someone made a comment about in your description box or edit the video? I don't crochet a lot and learned many many many years ago so I'm not sure what the other person meant. So, when I crochet a project I usually do so by looking at the video. Thank you.

    Good afternoon, just need to know when you do the increases on the even rows is it always 2 SC in the spaces after the 1 SC?

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  2 года назад

      Yes and no. Yes an "increase" is always 2 sc in one stitch but each even row, you'll be working increases in a growing sequence. Please rewatch as I explain the sequence. You'll be working incrementally. The pattern is also written under video in the description box to show what I mean.

    Hello!! Thank you so much for your video!! I'm going to make mine a little smaller since I don't have much space, I'm going to do 20 stitches instead of 24. I understand the pattern, but how many rows do you suggest I do? Would it be ok if I did the same amount as you or should I do less rows? I'm still new to crocheting sorry...thanks!

    • @PlayHookywithMe

    Hello, i am not sure if you will see this, am i able to use my weight 6 super bulky yarn with this, with the reccomended hook size? Specifically the hunny bunnie yarn from hobbi?

    Hello! This is a beautiful design! I am working on this pattern, and right now my yarn seems to be scrunching up on the ends with the double crochet. Do you know if perhaps I am using too small of a hook? I’m using a size 10!

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  Год назад

      Hm I'm not sure why that is doing that to you. Is it the right sized hook for the yarn you're working with? It could be a tension issue , but it's hard to say without seeing it.

    • @stephmuscott2882
      @stephmuscott2882 Год назад

      @@PlayHookywithMe The yarn calls for a larger hook, so that might be the issue! I've had a similar thing where my yarn curled when I put too many rings in my magic circle. So perhaps a larger hook would fix the issue!! Thank you!!

  • @elainaveasey5831
    @elainaveasey5831 Год назад

    I’m looking to make this with bulky yarn instead of chunky, do you have any idea approximately how many yards I might need to make up the difference? Or maybe a better way to ask that is what the gauge for this project is?

    • @PlayHookywithMe
      @PlayHookywithMe  Год назад +1

      What weight is your bulky yarn?
      For gauge, I have done a 32” diameter tree skirt with Bernat big blanket yarn (weight 7) and it took 2 skeins (300 grams each )
      To help know if we are discussing the same yarn weight , this yarn required a 25mm hook.

      It’s hard for me to know why since I’m not watching you make it . If you’re following along with the video and counting your stitches(and increasing) it will expand. I’m sorry , I really don’t know how to help 😕

      It sounds like you need to increase your chain count in the beginning. Did the two ends meet in a circle when you made your initial chain ?
