So another worthwhile project hits the screen. No less the beast, a 'Man bike', Cancelled in the name of safety, What ever you want to call it. This is the last un-restricted crazy idea from Honda to produce a bike you simply can't use to it's full potential. Dull 4 stroke restricted racing still sees the CR500 2 stroke competing and winning in many unrestricted races after 30+ years of so-called- development. I want one. I want it in a glass case just to know I have something that belongs to another age.
Lets see if it is up to the hype..

That Silica Blaster like a Dr Who time machine...lol.
I love how your first choice is always reuse oem parts and restore them. Its easy to buy new parts. And i think u also get the most joy by restoring original parts.
I learn alot from u so thanks for that. Hopefully i find myself a new project soon. (Aprilia rs125 hopefully)
RUSH just convinced me to follow your chanel!!! Excellent work on the bike!
Love your videos. Love the music. I was starting to wonder if anyone listened to jazz or classical or good rock anymore.
kind of Blue is one of the greatest albums ever. Love Blue in Green
You just sold me on a silica blaster haha... coming along nicely
I always leave a thumbs up but rarely any comment. I’ve run out of superlatives and I’m not knowledgeable enough to offer pointers.
Great work! Yes, super glue is great with rubber. Been using it for years to join O-rings... one of life's nice little discoveries ;-)
Great work!!
The Restoration is really gathering momentum. Great Job 👍 🙂
Great work and great music taste! Love watching your restorations. Greetings from Spain 👍👍
Great job so far, loving the video's.
Thanks!
Incredible attention to detail. I was first drawn to your channel with your work on the vfr800 fi. The big CR is really starting to take shape. Fantastic channel.
Impressive!
Amazing attention detail yet again, it just shows how much preparation is required if you want a first class restoration. This bike is going to be better than new.
Thanks Lee
You should invest in a vapor hone or vapor blasting machine.
There are a ton of videos you can watch on how to make one yourself and would probably enjoy doing it.
Vapor blasting is much less abrasive than sand blasting.
Lol….i made the vapor blasting comment before I got to the part of the video with using silica
AR8's - not seen a pair of those in a long while! ;)
Haha you saw those speakers. I’ve had many bookshelve monitors but I think these are the most accurate mid/ treb I’ve heard
The swingarm insert at the back are all glued in from the factory. Most people don't try to take them out.
No way why the hell?! Ok I’ll redo it then thanks mate
@MyRestoration1 ya not sure why they do that.
Hey, just came across your channel….I live just down the road a bit….in Sydney Australia 🇦🇺😉. However ,It’s great to see someone trying to save money and parts as you do so well and restore them to as good as new. I have the same ideas to save things so really enjoyed this build so far.
Where are you based in the uk, I’m originally from Leicestershire, cheers, Dean
Hi Dean, cheers mate. I’ve never been to Oz. Not missing the weather then! I’m based in Surrey 👍
Honda OEM Parts... Did you have to sell your kidney? 🙃
Loving your videos!!!
I did! I think it is harder finding the holy grail..
5:33 why are you removing the weld? Will it make it weaker if the weld metal is thinner? It's the first thing I've questioned, so you're doing great 😆
I watched your CB125 video and liked how much you fitted in to a 22 minute video. I've been curious about buying a non runner and trying to get it going as a hobby.
Thanks for your comment. Alloy welds done to the correct current as this one was melt bonds all the way through so it’s not a problem to remove the excess which if you think about it is not assisting in the bond at all so removing it is a no brainer.
@@MyRestoration1 thanks for replying.
I like your videos because they are useful and interesting.
And your machinery and tools are nice. Looking forward to more videos.
The frame looked amazing. Would you be able to tell me the brand and color code of the powder used? I am restoring an 88 CR250. Thank you.
NEVER POWDER COAT Troy. If you restore this bike use a 2 pak paint like Honda did. I show the colour info on the video..good luck!
@@MyRestoration1 Thank you.
