I watched at least 20 jigging for beginners videos (yes, many many hours spent learning techniques) and this is the first video to explain so well and in detail (no other video covered both how to do it and how does the lure behaves while you do it so in depth). 10/10 video, a must for beginners!
One of the best and most helpful videos I have seen in this category. I'm going to share this with my kayak fishing group. It helped me and I'm sure it might help some of them as well. Thank you!!!!
Hey, thanks. This is the first vid I find after watching a ton, that tells how to actually use it in a more detailed way I needed. Gonna try it when I get the chance.
Great video again Sammy. Hard to find a video on rigging these little suckers as everyone seems to focus on selection, or technique even though their Vids are titled "Rigging soft plastics". On the spot with the essential tips as always. Good hunting.
Excellent explanation of how to use soft plastic lures, watched it once and went fishing twice, 1st trip no result, 2nd trip PB 57 cm dusky Flathead, still working it out so I’ve watched it again, so armed with a bit more experience and a lot more understanding now what your explaining makes a lot of sense regarding lure action and what target species are looking for and we are trying to emulate, keep up the good work, always enjoy watching your videos
@@metsmokers1354 when using soft plastic lures have continued to have a lot of success with the runout tide , learning which direction to cast when drifting in a boat that allows for the lures to work correctly was the next step and trying to understand what the target species are feeding on at the time and trying to match your lures to that, soft plastic lure fishing is great fun when you get it right, bagging out on a species and continuing to catch and release shows that I have developed a decent understanding of the art that not everyone actually masters, I have mates from school who are excellent fishermen with bait, live baits that haven’t worked it out quickly and have unfortunately given up, they should watch your videos to get a better understanding of the process.
I like this video. All the good tipps, easy explained. Most use instructional videos to sell lures and try get beginners to think that some brand lures catch more fish than others. Greetings from Switzerland
Thanks for the video. This vid actually explain what to do and why you do it. Kudos man. And a little tip i can givebacks, most fish go for the bite on the "letting it sink back" phase. Like a metal jig
Thank you mate. Great video. I am a beginner and I would like to learn how to catch bream, how to use a sinker ( better size) what size has to be a hook, which one bite is better for fishing in the river ( land fishing not from the boat) Thank you mate
I just have 'weedless' hooks, not jig heads and they're a real pain to line up. These jig head things are much straighter and easier, but surely they get snagged easily?
I see you are using pretty solid rod so for me this means the bites to not depend on the action or let say if the rod is mo flexible. Do you feel the bites on you hand or wantch the line for some movement?
Thanks mate. Just one observation. Aren’t the flaps on the lure used to conceal the hook when fishing in weeds etc.. ? The hook should sit inside the slot concealing it and enabling it to go through the weeds without snagging.
Having fished multiple s in different sizes and colors, ruclips.net/user/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 this is by far my favorite. One thing to be aware of is the sided willow blade. One side is silver and the other is the green/orange shown. This is not bad, just unconventional. In terms of fishing, I have found the lure works just fine without a tail like a craw or shad. That addition is up to you. Also, the hook part where you attach the swivel snap or tie the line is a problem on baits these days, since it's able to slide up and down. However this lure seems to be tight enough that that doesn't happen often, and you can solve it by putting a thin slice of medical tube over the hook before attaching the line. Like others have said, it's really magic on a good windy day.

Same here bro
I agree.
This is the only video I've found that explains WHY to fish this way, rather than just "Because I said so". So much more helpful.
Very well done video. You make rigging plastics look easy. I always struggle getting the hook straight.
I never really knew how to rig and use those paddle tails this is the only video I’ve seen that actually explains it well thank you so much
This is easily one of the best "how to" video for soft plastics!!!!!!
This was actually the best video I've seen on how to use soft plastics 👍👌

Good vid mate starting on the plastics sick of paying for bait only to feed the pelicans at the boat ramp
Same here, haha 😂
Any luck? just going through the same thought process haha
Live bait is hard to beat, not getting a bite in ten mins = move no fish there
Quality content right here. Haven't seen any videos that describe it this well

How did you go since then?

Top video mate, thanks so much.
Only about to start out fishing soft plastics. 👍😎
So nicely explained without making 1.5 hours video how your grandpa took you fishing when you were 2 years old. Well done
Wicked explanations for soft plastics Sammy... would be awesome to see underwater footage of the plastics swimming.

Push back flaps, Push my hook through the flaps... got it! 😂
Got damn it 😂😂
Nicely done, could I suggest to do it in a swimming pool so you could have an underwater forage of plastic action.
hey mate, I'll definitely keep that in mind for next time!
What a mad fisher this was useful thanks bulla
thanks, exactly what i need. just decided to start using soft plastics and know nothing about them.

What is the brand of plastic with the slit in the bottom?
Hi thanks foe explained ,,,goood job & thanks Again,,,,KSA,,,dammam city
Great vid!
good video thanks for sharing :)
The reason 4 the flaps is to texas rig them to fish in weeds weedless style 😉
cant you just use offset hooks for weedles?
tom jens that’s what a texas rig is using. An wide gap offset hook.
Thanks
Hi thanks for Explaining Abut soft casting,,, my regard to u
Great vid.
Thank you so much sir!!!
Hi great video can you use a straight retrieve with a paddle tail thanks
So to use grub lures do you need a specialised HOOK for the grub.
last retrieve is the same for the squidding, with squid jigs !
You are such a doll, made me blush just watching you~ Thanks as well for the tips~
Awesome!! Do you recommend using braided line when jigging? New to bass fishing.
Good video 👍
I just have 'weedless' hooks, not jig heads and they're a real pain to line up. These jig head things are much straighter and easier, but surely they get snagged easily?
Yep, in real weedy water I use a weedless setup but in clear bottom water a normal jighead is fine.
This video is very informative, thanks a lot, what kind of weighted hook are you using?
I see you are using pretty solid rod so for me this means the bites to not depend on the action or let say if the rod is mo flexible. Do you feel the bites on you hand or wantch the line for some movement?
Great vid cheers
Salam joran melengkung lur
Thank u
Great video! Do you use a leader line with swivel? Or directly to main line?
Here would be a couple of underwater videos ...
Can these be used where let the current flow make the action on lure.
which rod is the last? what power does it have? how long is it Thanks!
Hi do you use a leader or the direct on your main line
Hi😄😄 bro, does I work in a river with fast flow current,or does it work in a lakes????pls give me some suggestions.
Ribokwalter Mawrie go with a heavier jig.
Nice 👍
Thanks mate. Just one observation. Aren’t the flaps on the lure used to conceal the hook when fishing in weeds etc.. ? The hook should sit inside the slot concealing it and enabling it to go through the weeds without snagging.
Thanks mate. Heading up to Forster to fish the flats and rocks. Will be using your tips. Look forward to watching the new video😀
Hi can I used bait casting rod for lures
@Sammy Hitzke Fishing what rod and reel are you using in this video? Thanks
This man has a beard
Hai sammy pls let me know does the rod tip flexibility realy affect the retrivel of soft plastic
thx bro
Didn’t work for me i tried like 5 times and the hook is always not in the right spot
What's the name of the hook?
do you need that type of hook
Hi.. There is a position or upside down is the same?
I have 1 question if I have Zman 2'5" what the size jack haed for it
so with the grub tails are you meant to reel them in like the other lures too ?
👍
Were is that place
