- the movement of "extras" through the canvas was completely unscripted -- we didn't know those people! And yet their crossings align eerily with the song's arrangement. That's because God wanted this video to be perfect!

Goddamn these guys write great songs: hooks, melodies and resonant lyrics. Satisfaction and fulfillment on every level no matter how you enjoy their music. Saw them play a small club in Sydney in 2006. Didn’t stop smiling for weeks.
With love and squalor is by far my favorite CD of all time.

Just to explain this video. It is based on the artwork of British Art Duo; Gilbert and George who work as self styled "living sculptures".
Many of their early film/vid works, feature the pair, just standing around doing nothing, in real time video shoots. It is this, that We Are Scientists based the video on.
Nice work chaps! I am a big fan of this song and of Gilbert and George, so I am impressed!

2006? 2007? Semi-Small club in Hollywood. They opened with the song getting airplay: "This Scene is Dead." Always impressed me. Usually those are the encore. Way to go, scientists. Love the cat theme (Paul: I would really love to kiss you ... but I guess I'm in no condition)

I came to this video pretty randomly and recognized that bridge immediately. Crossed a few times during my stay at a hotel near there a month ago. I thought it would be a great shield from the biting cold, but enough of the windows are screens that it wasn't. Looks a lot nicer when the leaves are green.

that Gilbert and George (who live in the same neighbourhood as me, by the way) are very fond of the multicultural Eastend of London and speak very highly of the huge local Bangladeshi Community whom they live amongst very happily.

Well, We Are Scientists have compared themselves with Gilbert and George (if you read the introduction to this video, it explains that this video was influenced by Gilbert and George's Artwork). I only wrote this comment to explain more to people who may not be familiar with Gilbert and George's Artwork).
I would be interested where you found this piece of information about G&G being racist as if it is definatelly true, then I would strongly dissaprove of their views. However I do know...
