I thought this was gonna be some “200 alt accounts to fabricate discussions with himself” type of story. Being unknowingly shadowbanned almost seems like a sadder reality
Thank god this is the story, I was worried that he was actually boring and then he did something crazy to grab attention. Him being a wholesome and person is just so nice
It also shows how incompetent Reddit admins are and how ridiculous shadowbanning is. Like if you are going to make no one see his posts, inform him with a proper ban and a proper email outlining his violation of the terms and conditions of his account. Shadowbanning just validates persecution narratives and turns any website into mini echo chambers where no one can see anything else besides “approved” content. It’s dangerous and shitty point blank.

I genuinely feel awful for this guy. Constantly reaching out and never getting any type of response hurts, no matter the medium it’s in. I’m glad he didn’t get bitter about it and give up, that probably would have made him feel worse. I’m also glad he got the interaction he wanted in the end, and hope he and his dog now have many positive interactions.
This is a good reminder to advocate for yourself if you feel ignored. Sometimes people are mean or sometimes they just don’t realize. Calling them out will give your power back.

love the new format and everything but I have a recommendation. getting a lapel mic or a shotgun mic for your camera. there's a bit of echo and using one of those mics would increase the quality of your videos.

@@andyyjiang with that mic you should be fine as long as you add some acoustic treatments to the room such as acoustic foam, thick cloth drapes, hell even a rug that covers a large portion of the floor can help massively too when combined with some acoustic foam.
