Take it from a 59yo womyn, "traditional" Christmas lights were always colored! Boring white lights didn't start until the early '90s with the icicle lights... I vote with Danni! 😉
The colored lights should also be adjustable so you don't have to have the multi-flashing mode...
My lights can actually be programmed to be white or colored, so you can alternate 🤗

Coloured lights always! If you hate the flashers, there's usually a setting to stop them flashing , or to get a slow fade in and out.

Bruce the spruce mark 2 looks fantastic but I bet he is a guzzler needing watering a lot. You could have done both lights and then put the ones on danni loves when she’s home and the white ones when Danni is at work 😆🤗

Nice one! Just goes to show a great video doesn't need to to overcomplex just a nice laid back half hour so thanks for that. Also, I've been at loggerheads with the Mrs for years over Xmas lights - she only wants white ones and no flashing - so boring. I much prefer nicely coloured lights on a slow fade in and out change. Much more festive - sorry Joe. I also didn't remember the first Bruce the spruce oddly enough - funny I missed that.

Electric coloured lights are traditional, but originally they were candles. I have yet to see a wax candle giving off red green blue and so forth, and especially flash haha Happy Xmas

The live tree must be misted with water often and daily besides watering and feeding its roots... for it to have any chance of surviving inside your hot and dry heated narrowboat. That's how all of my childhood's six feet tall blue spruce Christmas trees survived indoors... and transplanting. Seriously.
By the way, Danni's colorful lights look festive (much better than the white ones) and traditional!
The proximity of the "ridiculously hot" wood burning stove to the tree is its enemy. Trust me on this.

Well it was lovely to see Danni back. She did look tired though. Glad you got lights sorted tree looked pretty after all decs on it. The wood cutting was a bit hairy flying logs!!! Liked the window cleaning gadget that will help to keep condensation down. Have great week 😊

One of the other floggers (can't remember which one) put Zarpax Car Humidifier Bags in their windows and said it helped tremendously. They are re-useable, you just have to dry them in a microwave (or on your stove) after 2-3 days use.

Ha, ha, ha! Joe is usually so upbeat but obviously got out of the wrong side of the bed that episode. He mumbled and grumbled his way through everything you said Danni. Reminded me of our son when he was little. I'd say to him, there's only two reasons you can be grumpy today, 1. You're tired or 2. you're constipated, which is it? He'd never admit to either and would laugh and cheer up. Glad to see that after a short rest and the football to look forward to Joe was back to his old self. Happy Christmas you two! Xxx

Hey! Sadly all the house plants I brought over to the boat have died. I think the varying temperature is just too much for them. I haven’t brought any of my big babies over, maybe in the summer. Not sure if they would like it or not - I will most probably use rain water 😊

Wouldn’t a towel have worked to dry the windows?
We have to do it multiple times a day, we don’t have anywhere to dry things unless we keep the dryer up but it’s so big/in the way. Must more efficient to use 😊
If you use a towel, you need to hang it up to dry. This means the moisture goes back into the air.
Just wondering if a narrow boat is snug & warm in winter?

Please be so careful with an electric bike on your boat, I had one stolen off mine which was cable locked but they waited until a stormy night so I didn’t notice the movement, this was from Bradford on Avon
That is our biggest worry, b*stards. Trowbridge/BoA/Bath got a really bad name for bike thefts it’s such a shame. Not sure what we’re going to do to be honest.

I love my Fat Bike Cycla-Matic E-Bike.
Just a word of warning for your Himiway -- Throttle Controlled E-Bikes are currently ILLEGAL in the UK
Almost ALL the current UK Ebikes are Electrically ASSISTED, meaning you still have to pedal but the power is provided on hill climbs
Thanks for that, it’s a very limited amount of power through the throttle (capped at 5-10% if say) - so assuming they’re adhering to some sort of restriction - but in black and white throttle control is illegal - I might pop them a message actually to clarify
“From January 1 2016, the only throttles legal within the UK’s EAPC legislation are those that assist the rider without pedalling up to a maximum speed of 6 km/h (3.7 mph) - i.e. starting assistance only.” That’s a relief!
@@DanniandJoe That is a relief. In the US they are legal for normal use and can hit speeds of 25mph without pedalling.

Bet there’s a way to hack it - just read they can get crushed though 😫 we’ve had it up a decent incline with two of us on so impressed & the fat tyres are so comfortable it does feel motorbike esque
I am old enough that as a kid, we originally had a spinning tree made of tinsel with a rotating color wheel (example see: ruclips.net/video/2C-V3mivPBg/видео.html ), then later had a fake green tree but only had c7 bulbs available for the lights. I agree with Joe though that the white Xmas tree lights look more traditional. As an adult I have had multi-colored lights in the past, but Danni's lights seem to overpower the small space and their flashing makes it look painful to the eye on film. Sorry, Danni.
