There's an old story of pope Gregory encountering slave children in Rome and he was taken by how beautiful they were. He asked one of his companions who these children were, to which he was told they were Angles (Anglos, in modern English), he quickly retorted that they were not Angles but angels. I don't identify as white. I know I am but I'm an Englishman or a Briton, I'm equally comfortable with both. White is too big and most whites are foreign to me. They speak different languages and have different cultures. I can understand why a third generation American with English/Dutch grandparents on his father's side and Irish/Italian grandparents on his mother's side would be white. But I'm a native of an ancient country and I don't need whiteness as an identity. A white identity doesn't offend me, but it doesn't describe me. As I say white is too big and includes too many others who are very different.

That's a very important point actually. I never considered myself white previously. I was just a person typical of the British Isles. It's only now that I have to answer ethnicity questions on for instance, a form to see a doctor or dentist. My new 'group' seems to be the category of 'Northern European' as opposed to 'Southern European'. I also object to being asked if I am of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Island decent. As you may have gathered, I'm now a resident of Australia having left the UK in the late 90s.

I don't identify as white. I know I am but I'm an Englishman or a Briton, I'm equally comfortable with both. White is too big and most whites are foreign to me. They speak different languages and have different cultures. I can understand why a third generation American with English/Dutch grandparents on his father's side and Irish/Italian grandparents on his mother's side would be white. But I'm a native of an ancient country and I don't need whiteness as an identity. A white identity doesn't offend me, but it doesn't describe me. As I say white is too big and includes too many others who are very different.

That's a very important point actually. I never considered myself white previously. I was just a person typical of the British Isles. It's only now that I have to answer ethnicity questions on for instance, a form to see a doctor or dentist. My new 'group' seems to be the category of 'Northern European' as opposed to 'Southern European'. I also object to being asked if I am of Aboriginal or Torres Straight Island decent. As you may have gathered, I'm now a resident of Australia having left the UK in the late 90s.

I Googled was king Offa black today, and google informed me he was one of many black Anglo-Saxon kings. It quoted one link ,and that was to black supremacist Shanice Lindsay. It is so insidious.

What is wrong with the publishers, for fecks sake, it is nothing but lies.
Two things are at play with publishers : the first is money; if they think certain books will sell, they publish them. The second : publishers have a number of woke activist employees who agitate for certain books with politically correct viewpoints. The directors & bosses are scared of them instead of telling them to find another job.
As a grandmother with great grandchildren I'm completely distraught on the direction things are going exspeacially with the history. My beautiful blonde haired blue eyed children are going to be reduced to a people that have their history erased if things aren't corrected.😢

Yeah it is concerning people need to wake up, the army make me angry not doing anything about it.
One of the worst programmes on tv is Cbeebies, for pre school children. Lots of stories about Brahma and dufferent gods of other cultures, not one mention of Jesus. There are very few white children represented.
When my daughter was little, early 2000. It was a great educational fun channel. Maths, cooking, English.
If my daughter was little now she would not be watching it. She would be watching dvds I would have watched first.

There is significant difference between being sub-Saharan African and other dark skinned peoples. One would not consider Indians as "black" as in referring to sub-Saharans.
