@@ThatSingerReactions you need to hear resolutions man it's insane. i toured with this madman and he can play every instrument and every genre of music. he is actually so gifted it isn't fair and an incredibly nice human. also Soul's A Fire. both of those songs are incredible and shows his range as an artist.
I was very lucky he performed it before released in my backyard as part of his secret Garden Tour . He asked his fans "where do you want to see me play heaps of fans said 'In my house back garden" so he did all over Australia . A humble true artist he is . Now he helps up and coming Aussie artists .

Money well spent. Amazing voice and he is incredible Live saw him in concert a few years back. Great reaction. Thanks.

Matt is hugely talented, resisted the temptation to be commercial and stayed independent. Has some great songs and always performs with so much passion. Like Guy Sebastian (just watched your reaction to him earlier), fairly unknown outside Australia. Should be much more appreciated.

I am not a big fan of the talent shows but in this case I agree. But I think the shows should be used as a promotional platform tbh. I think people should have indi records OUT before they go on the shows and they should then plug their own songs; get promo and royalties at the same time; if you don't it makes no sense to me..

The best thing is you wouldn’t even recognise Matt Corby as a teenager when he got his break on Australian Idol. His voice has come so far since then. Well worth a watch.
The only American male artist I think is in the Matt Corby lane (and I’d put money was a BIG inspo for him) was Jeff Buckley. Very similar ranges and uncanny ability to manipulate his instrument. Similar tonal quality too, and with the exact same ability to get gravelly when the emotional moment calls for it.
I actually thought of Jeff at times watching this!.

Love Matt Corby. Live for the day l see a Matt Corby/Allen Stone collaboration. It's worth mentioning that this song won ARIA song of the year without receiving one jot of commercial airplay. Also love his song "Resolution".

He has an incredible voice but its the pure emotion that he invokes into his vocals and performances that take it to a whole other level.
Look at him covering the black keys lonely boy which he did in that same recording session it’s also amazing 🤩
Still remember heading to a meeting in the car on a Friday morning all those years ago as Matt started to perform this. I ended up sitting in the car park to finish listening it out in awe and was late for my meeting in the end. The radio presenters reaction afterwards was also great. One of those moments sealed in time for me!

Matt was a runner up on Australian Idol when he was only 16 but instead of capitalising on that success he went to London to hone his craft. Worth it.
I still remember the first time I heard Brother. It legitimately changed a part of me (for the better.)
At age 16, Matt Corby auditioned for the 5th season of Australian Idol in 2007 where he finished as runner-up! I'm in Texas, USA and I'm probably one of the few Americans that actually got to see Australian Idol, I always downloaded the episodes with Bit-Torrent at the time. I loved the show and I really liked Matt a lot, he was my favorite and what a talent. I'm really glad he's still around and in the business doing what he does best, thanks for posting this video, a very pleasant surprise indeed!
Glad you enjoyed Matt's performance - he is one of our favourite sons here in Australia. The song comes from a dark place where he really stuffed up a relationship with a friend of his, and he totally took accountability for his mistake in this song. Such an amazing talent

I saw Missy Higgins open for George at The Zoo in Brisbane. I think it was of her first tours as a featured guest. Wow, typing that just made me old af haha Was a brilliant show though, Missy smashed it on the piano!!

His soft almost whisper-like voice makes you listen more intently and pay attention to all that is going on. He is so dramatic and amazing. I thank you for making all of us aware of him and his talent.

Have loved corby since 07 when he graced Australia’s ears with his voice on Australian idol. He is from another universe - his talent is untouchable. His music is some kind of otherworldly magic. One of my favourite things is watching blind reactions to his songs - this song especially. Emotion and Chills every time man. Everyone should know him.
An Australian hip hop group called the thundamentals did a cover of this song & its definitely a very different version of this but still awesome.

You need to listen to some Noiseworks. Take Me Back or No Lies. Yet another New Zealand singer fronting an Australian band. Super underated as a band and as a vocalist generally. Jon Stevens has the belt and the rasp you like so much. Great vocal range.

This was honestly the most enjoyable reaction video i've ever seen. I was grinning ear to ear every time you FELT it. Matt Corby is sort of a hidden treasure in Australia. He actually made it pretty far in Australian Idol way back when he was a teenager, but he hated the attention he got from it and a few years later just started doing his own thing. He's an amazing singer and his music is awesome too. Great vibes. Writes it all himself and plays most of the instruments himself too including drums. A super talent

Thank you so much for this review. I scream on about Matt Corby being one of the best male singers in the world right now. His phrasing, control, melody, musicality, accompaniments are out of this world, just the technicality of his musicianship is so high and often goes well-unnoticed.

I know this is a couple years old but I loved your reaction! That sound at the beginning, Ooh-wa-hoo is what we used on the farm to call the animals to feed in the Riverina of News South Wales, not as good as Matt though. It also sounds like the same tone as the cooee to locate each other as @lisacooper6168 said too. It's doesn't sound like a didgeridoo, that's a much lower tone. No matter how many times I hear Brother, it gives me goosebumps, while my hearts aflame. ❤🔥
