- Supporters of Joe Biden have called on him to abandon the campaign after a "disastrous" TV debate against his opponent Donald Trump.
Party donors and congressmen have called on the 81-year-old to abandon his run for re-election to the presidency after appearing frozen and muddling his words multiple times during the first head-to-head debate of the 2024 election campaign.

Trump was widely acknowledged the winner of the debate.
However, the President has clapped back at criticism and taken to the stand at a rally in North Carolina.
Mr Biden was met with chants of “four more years” - less than 24 hours after his presidential debate had been labelled ‘disastrous’.
He had been told he has a week to win over the Democrats before they try and get rid of him in the first presidential debate.
Former President Barack Obama has also weighed in on the matter saying "Bad debate nights happen. Trust me, I know."
In a tweet, the Mr Obama said: "Bad debate nights happen.
"Trust me, I know. But this election is still a choice between someone who has fought for ordinary folks his entire life and someone who only cares about himself.
"Between someone who tells the truth; who knows right from wrong and will give it to the American people straight - and someone who lies through his teeth for his own benefit.
"Last night didn’t change that, and it’s why so much is at stake in November."

I have a very hard time believing Biden has any credibility inside the White House and any ability to make decisions that stick. It's a lot easier to believe that war criminals Sullivan and Blinken, who are actually running the show, like being President and really want to keep their jobs. As for Dr. Jill, I don't even want to try and guess.
You are missing the point: This wasn’t a ONE-OFF event. This is the culmination of a series of fumbles that indicate a worsening condition. Yes, he can be alert and coherent and then, without warning drift away. That makes him unreliable and the next major incident may occur at a high-powered summit in front of the world’s cameras.
Action must be taken now while he still retains some of his faculties and rescue the Presidency before it turns into a laughing stock and the poor man is left completely humiliated.
It’s ok, 45 already made America a laughing stock for the last 8 yrs, we’ve all been entertained by him and his poorly educated supporters 😂
American voters are facing two choices: 1. An old man with a bad debate performance. 2. An old man who is a pathological liar and a convicted felon.

The common sense answer is that both the Democrats and the Republicans should get rid of Biden and Trump. Because neither of them is the best choice to run a nation.
Common sense says that you actually do not know how close to we have come to losing this this Republics democratic institutions. Anybody seen the crime laden Supreme Court of late. A bunch of men, Republican men accepting thousands of dollars by people who want to influence the court and influence the court. That’s a Democratic institution or once was and we need to change all that’s going on. You do not toss out your candidate. at times like these and introduce totally new people who have not been vetted for over a year. Trump ran for the ticket and was approved, so Trump is very obviously the democratically legitimised candidate. Biden on the other hand did not put himself out there, the Dems had barred candidates, or did not have primaries all together, so to secure Biden's ticket, which he could not have won fairly. So there is a stark difference between the two. If the Reps did not want Trump, they had the opportunity to choose someone else, which they did not. Getting rid of Trump is not even on the menu.
The billionaires and corporate CEOs who own this country have decided the "best" and "common sense" choice consists of a dementia patient versus a cynical buffoon whose every utterance is a jingoistic word salad. The media ask no questions about it. Our most trusted institutions fully endorse it. And the vast majority of Americans consider it normal and acceptable.
That's all you really need to know about the possibility of "common sense" ever entering into the equation.

Biden's problems have grown significantly over those years. Trump's have also grown and are far more serious - they aren't merely the product of aging but the product of what is likely to be fronto-temporal dementia.

When the minimum presidential age was set at 35, American male life expectancy was about 45.
If you make it past the age of five the life expectancy has always been 70+. This is a common myth.

As someone who knows (relative) he is displaying all the classic signs. The disease is degenerative, so will only get worse.
Multiple cognitive specialists concur that Biden is showing natural signs of aging more than Trump, such as slowing down, quiet voice, etc. but Trump is showing all the signs of dementia, such as confusion between people, not just names, difficulty completing words, the recent swing of his right leg when walking, sleeping in court, etc.. all indicative of vascular dementia specifically.
Trump at his rallies shows it, too. Neither candidate is fit enough nor cognitively healthy enough to be the next US President.

Providing you made it out of childhood, you could expect to live long past 28 unless you had an accident, a bad childbirth, or something along these lines. Providing you did survive childhood (and childbirth), it wasn’t uncommon to get to your 60’s or 70’s - that was what was considered normal. Some even then made it beyond to their 80’s and 90’s - few, but enough to be part of every community.

I disagree with Obama when he says, Biden puts the Nation first, as it is clearly not in the Nation’s interest for him to continue. In my experience it is very difficult to get elderly people to accept that they can’t do something anymore, whether it be driving a car, or even walking unaided. This is no different. Also the health of geriatrics is extremely variable, they can be virtually incapable one day, and back to their old self the next.
The World owes Biden no sympathy nor excuse for his many lies and deceit throughout his political career!

The man has mid-stage dementia. I've known several people with this condition, including my father. They can rebound for awhile and be almost normal, then suddenly drop down again. Worse then that, they can be at mid-stage for years, but unpredictably fall suddenly into the late-stage. Once you hit late-stage you may have some returns to lucidity but typically for shorter and shorter times. Eventually, there's no return to anything resembling normalcy. I perceive Biden tiptoeing into the late-stage, which could overtake him at any moment. The only thing unfathomable to me is why the media and DNC were in denial for so long. As far as I am concerned, let him and let the democrats and the media take their well-deserved LOSS in 2024. Honestly, it didn't take a genius to see this TWO YEARS AGO. That the media covered for this deeply corrupt man, and put the security of the country at risk, is disgusting.

I don't know. If you're saying no Kamala Harris, then all these other candidates have lower name recognition, haven't been vetted on a national stage (much more grueling than anything they've been through), and haven't raised any money (!). None of them have ever polled better than Biden against Trump (to the degree it's been measured). If I were Trump there is no way I would agree to a debate with a lesser-known candidate and give them that critical exposure. Can't help but think this is also the makings of a Democratic loss.
The North Carolina stump speech had teleprompters. Biden could calm anxieties easily if he came out to do more 1 on 1 interviews but if he disappears until September, we are doomed.

This is not AGE it is a neurodegenerative disease process. Plenty of much older people with much more cognitive reserve. I am a retired Clinical Psychologist/Neuropsychologist. UTI etc and other reversible causes of an aparent dementia have certainly been ruled out. Presidents get excellent medical care and nutrition.
Stop making excuses and trying to find euphemisms for an illness. It is about age, because illnesses are more likely at a high age and they also get worse with age.
