  • The XSRE family of carabiners from DMM are the most popular micro-carabiners for tree work. For any accessory use, from tending a climbing device to racking gear, they can't be beat for quality of function and manufacturing.
DMM provides three versions: Original XSRE non-locking, XSRE LOCK with screw gate, and the XSRE CAPTIVE LOCK with captive bar and screw locking gate.

Hey Sharp Shooter, this is what Dave replied: "You will be fine with tree length if all you are doing is pines."
      Hope that helps.
      Stay safe!

A cheap, useable option is the big paddle carabiner, CAR308 from this page: wesspur.com//carabiners/accessory-carabiners.html#car308

I use mine with the dogs lead should I need to be hands free. They are also backup hammock biners should I forget my Spectre 2's. I also collect carabiners and I couldn't not buy this.

Don’t buy from this company, I purchased and paid for an item on Amazon sold by them, they are now billing me separately for the same item and never shipped the item out, they are trying to get paid twice, I have emailed them many times and not heard back
