Nice video! Also was really disappointed seeing reddit. The decision to make 2 separate games is the best decision they could make. I understand that veterans of the game with 10k hours won't be excited cause they basically have seen everything the game had to offer, but I've only played 2 or 3 leagues so far and there is so much more content and builds to explore in PoE 1. I also think they kinda missed the mark with the presentation (but not the game). Kinda bummed they didn't show any end-game, prob cause it's not finished or polished yet. But the actual potential of the new gameplay and systems is insane, as well as all the graphical and other technical improvements, I was so excited then they showed new weapon swap. You can not only use it just for 2 different elements - example is you can make a curse setup on tree one weapon swap and dps on another, or single-multi target focus or smth entirely new. They showed act 3 and act 4 characters with trash magic gear, 1-3 links on gems, probably unascended (if you read this can you confirm? Imagine being unascended in act 6-7 of PoE 1, which is basically act 4 in PoE 2, brrr), probably a bit underleveled and unoptimized tree (cause why would it be optimized? It's a new unfinished game) and 3 life + 2 mana flasks. If you try to play with this setup in Poe 1 in act 6 you'll literally just die in 1 hit to almost all elemental attacks, yet you can even complete all bosses with enough time/skill.
Looks like a great time ! I think they did everything wrong concerning showcasing the game. If the game won't be as slow as showcased, why make it look so hard and overtuned... I mean they got 1 chance in 4 years to showcase what they made so far and they showed off a super slow bullet spungy Dark Souls/Hades style game. I think that's a major mistake that's hurting them already.
I dont get it either. I sincerely believe that the game will not be noticably slower in the acts or even for most people in the endgame like they said. But everyone must have seen the reddit outrage following this showcase. It was clear as day
Jeez yeah when I was in greece at 00:00 Greek time it was literally 30° C it was insane. The entire night literally and the fun Part is I was in a really small town. So having it be that hot there was insane. Good thing you resurrected yourself back at the checkpoint😂
Good to see you and others have tons of fun showcasing things at Exilecon. Unfortunate what happened during the Mobile playthrough but something great came from it. IIRC imexile had an IAS weapon for Leap Slamming faster from Merveil so I guess RNGesus made sure he couldnt get a Chance Orb to guarantee a win but it was also kinda dick move in the qualifiers to troll by using a different racers name in the 3rd qualifiers on purpose. He deserved to be trolled by not getting a Chance Orb throughout the Race and ultimately lose. I also felt quite bad for Havoc. After losing such concentrated focus it is difficult to get back into the Zone.
i am sad most people have no idea the terrible things apa hotel is doing, like how normalized this chain is in japan and in the west. if a business in the u.s. or germany did anything similar, well, they wouldn't be a business anymore. not blaming you for not knowing. love your videos.
FYI corporate cabs is a premium taxi service with a price tag to match. Typically wealthy businessmen tend to use it who essentially charge it to their business as some sort of tax right off.
Also I agree with people overreacting. I thought the slowness of what they showed was off putting, but I also heard them say they overtuned the demo. I disagree with overtuning the demo cuz there's such limited upside to it. But I can also understand people being worried based off said demo cuz it's all we've seen in 4 years if they didn't hear the overtuned bit/just saw clips on Reddit. What I think would've been smart was to have at least one higher level, properly geared character that GGG piloted on stage after showing the slower, early game combat.

From what I saw of the gameplay I really feel like the new animations with the engage and disengage even if the demo was overtuned it seems like a really good remedy for melee combat compared to PoE1

At 40°C I'd absolutely wouldn't care anymore what flavor or consistency the ice cream had lmao. I don't think autopickup gold would compromise that old school D2, MTG, Souls-serk hardcore gamer feeling. Like we want medieval sword fights but not the hygiene. Event looked really awesome and the panels and discussions were interesting to watch in any case. Well best outcome we get two awesome and different games out of it, can't wait for GGG's new content.

I'm trying to tell anything positive about PoE 2 but i can't. It's not a game for me, which is ok, because some poeple are going to like this version of... hack'n slash? arpg? I don't even know how to call it cause it's not a game I know anymore. I may say that the art looks cool, but still - we are speaking about old game that already looks outdated and really baldy optimised (pun intended - Chris please don't ban). If you want one more game that simulates Dark Souls then you will love PoE2. I play PoE since closed beta and the only thing watching Exilecon was a dissapointment. I was hyped and I gave myself some time after all the news and... I don't want to play it. If you want to play it, go for it. As a gamer who loved to play this game from the beginning I reallly don't like the direction it's going for. I wish I'm wrong.
Kind of odd that they claim to not want long cooldowns (to avoid the MMO feeling of D4 with optimized skill cycle order), and yet with very long cast/attack times and "minimum channeling" times, it kind of amounts to a similar thing but perhaps worse because you can be interrupted. Once you have massive engame monster density, it would be nice for the combat to still feel good so I hope they figure they out.
As someone who likes the zoom playstyle of poe1, they made an absolutely atrocious job of presenting the game for people who like current poe1 and don't like souls like gameplay. Thank you for sharing your point of view and asking Chris about the zoom playstyle. I probably won't enjoy poe2 during the first league and keep playing poe1 (of course I will try it), but I will like it a few years down the line, just like poe1 has changed over the years.
