Erik I missed you I thought ide never get to hear your beautiful music again it always makes me feel good and I needed it my great grandmother past way yesterday and this calmed me and made me realize it'll be okay and that she's in a better place dude I love your music and your attitude keep up the good work love ya Erik. I've watched you for 8 or 9 years you get better everytime
Erik i just wanted to say thank you, i ordered the low D carbon fiber after looking at it for over a year, and it arrived today not even a full week later. The flute and I are still getting to know eachother, but I feel we are going to be very good friends and go many places together. The tone is amazing and i am very proud to now own 2 of your flutes. Thank you, much love, and God bless you sir, you are a saint.
Awesome flute and You playing-it just makes it that much better sense You know what You've got in Your hands and what it's capable of. 👍🏽😁👍🏽 I'm the builder of Distant thunder flutes., so I have a deep respect for what You show, I just keep most of my flutes in the ancient Native American realm of the older rim blown SW tribal flutes.
What beautiful music! I tuned in expecting to hear Irish music but I was not disappointed when it turned out to be something completely different. Your video demonstrates the versatility and range of this instrument. Thank you for sharing your talents.
it's so bad for me that I can never see you and learn how to play like you. But fortunately I can enjoy hearing it. Greetings from the snow in Finland.
Nice Erik sounds great. I still play mine that you made it is awesome to hear this kind of relaxing flute. You need to do a video once month ......no pressure ...lol.
I have instruments from Erik and Carbonny and Erik's tend to be more thin walled and that tends to add a bit of resonance I don't get from Carbonny. My Carbonny High D flute rarely gets played. With whistles from Howard's of Sheffield, pipers grip works fine for my wide palm, short fingers on a Low D. On the Low C even pipers grip is becoming a bit of a challenge. I've been learning mandolin recently. But this has me itching to swap back again for a bit :)
I made PVC traverse flutes on LOW D, (sorry by my english), my LOW D flutes have a great sound but on higher notes, requires more strong to blow but, we are in tune. I love you space.
wow this is very nice, i like to play flutes sideways aswell, but i also got a low D whistle and one in F already, could you make this carbon fiber flute in a low C? but then a real lower C than a low D is :D or isnt that possible? i mean my F is much smaller than my D whistle , the F was made by Quellery from the Netherlands, and the D is from Kerrywhistles. but i would love to get one made by you in a C , what do you think? is a C even usefull, im not that common with all the scales on a flute but i would prefer a key that is commonly used next to my D and F
I regret to say our carbon fiber engineer closed his shop, sold his house and moved away. We sold out of most things carbon fiber. I still have some C Arabian Whistles.
Haunting and soothing! Aaahhhh! Was perusing some of your recordings looking for one I can't seem to find again where you gave some tips on recording with a mic and adding reverb or echo for a sound similar to what you achieve in this recording. My playing area at home had a nice acoustic sound before becoming a shared space for our family hobbies, and is now encumbered with additional soft furnishings and other sound deadening objects. Was thinking karaoke machine, but maybe you can suggest other possibilities. Just playing for fun and personal enjoyment with limited budget around or under $300. Thanks for sharing your recordings! My adult sons and I have several of your instruments and get much enjoyment from them.
Hi Christopher, I use a Boss reverb-delay pedal RV-3 where I set it on #7. It is connected on one side to a chord connected to a mike on a stand. On the other plug I have a cord connected to a battery powered amp called a Taxi. Made by Crate. I can plug it in and take it out for a day to play. also can just leave it plugged in. I use this to play in small places like a living room or park and took it to my craft shows. The pedal has a 9 volt battery for outdoors. Uses it up fast. But also has an electric hook up for a house. When I record in my office I use a mac using Garage Band then I go to the acoustic guitar setting and then the Large Reverb button to record. Hope this helps, Erik

quick question about the low D I just bought. I usually play a C with fingers 2 and 3 only. On this one, it sounds in tune with 2,3,4 and 5 down. I can do it that way but wonder if there is more I don't know. I am so thrilled with the whistle, I can't put it down.
I really appreciate the sound of all these flutes and can't help but wonder how to get started, with so many times pick from. Any suggestions on a beginner friendly flute??
The Kiowa inspired love flute is one of the easier ones, because it requires no real breathing technique, you just blow. For the same reason, the pennywhistle is also a nice place to start.
I just came across your videos your amazing I wish to purchase a flute and learn any suggestions I play native American flutes I have three of them I would be grateful for any advice

@@ErikTheFlutemakerCom I've been playing this beautiful flute every day since I received it and I have nothing but good things to say about it. As soon as I picked it up and started playing it I could feel and hear the quality. Fantastic tone, easy to play and produce that traditional melancholy sound. I have improved tremendously now that I have a proper instrument to learn and improvise with :) Thank you so much again Erik, I'll be buying all your carbon fiber whistles and flutes!

Erik, I liked the flute you sent me (a bamboo G "Brazilian" style), but I was really sad that you didn't respond to any of the three emails I sent regarding its purchase. Just thought you'd like to know, since it doesn't seem like you're the type of guy to ignore your customers. 😟

I'm curious what the difference between this and a bansuri is, and if you also make bansuris?
Should not be much for the experiences I guess. It is in articulation and tonal focus; meditative in this case.🙏
I really want to know the difference too, because I want buy and to start to learn bansuri.
