The bonus tracks are basically two alternative endings to the album, right where you left me is about being frozen and unable to move on and then it’s time go is about moving on and letting go
What a wild time to enter the Taylor universe. I also recommend Rep…it’s hard to compare Taylor albums because they are so unique and different to one another.
The thing about Taylor’s music is that you’ll find your favorites change based upon where you are in life. I became a full on Swiftie during the 1989 era. I took my stepdaughter and niece to her concert and that was what hooked me. Then Reputation came out after her dad and I had split up and THAT became my favorite album. Fast forward to COVID and me having already been in therapy for almost a year. Folklore comes out. Still my favorite album to this day, though Midnight’s is growing on me.
Time To Go is so emotional. It’s the last song she released before she began the process of re-recording her stolen albums. The last verse is about the Scott/Scooter situation and how at the end of it all, she only has herself-but also how there’s power in that (the fact that she’s reclaiming what was taken from her and re-recording). The outro also gets me so emo 🥲 it’s like she’s hyping herself up “…you know When it's time to go So then you go Then you go You just go” so in that repetition and then the instrumental outro at the end of the song there’s so much space to reflect about what she’s saying. It’s just such a powerful song 🧡
@@shelbmathews I really think you'd enjoy Hits Different - it's a bop. Obviously it's sad too (she loves a sad song) but it's cute and fun to sing along to. Speaking of sad songs, You're Losing Me is the saddest sad song that ever sad-songed, but it's also absolutely gorgeous and you should def listen sometime, even if you don't react to it. 💙
I would love to see you react to reputation and red next :) reputation is the complete opposite to everything you've heard from her so far so it will be so funny for you to hear it after folklore evermore and midnights lol red is known as her best album to date by a lot of people, it has so many different genres rock, alternative, country, pop, dubstep, everything.
For me, the melody of right where you left me does match the lyrics. You too mentioned the buildup in the beginning of the song, but it doesn't really go anywhere, there's no release in the chorus and it makes me feel uneasy as if..frozen in time, just like the narrator of the song^^
"im honestly just hoping that one of these two songs will have something positive to say to help me feel a lil bit better" me knowing that these two songs are both sad songs: 🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️🧍🏻♀️
Same tho I just went 👁👄👁 *blinked slowly * °o° Istg I see that so often with Taylor reactions it's like everyone foreshadows the opposite of what's true and while I am living for it I at this point just assume Taylor's gonna shatter my heart into a million pieces 🥴🤧❤
Bahaha yes, in ITTG she’s saying when you’re in a shitty situation and you just take these little hits over and over and over and finally you know, it’s time to go. Like in a bad relationship.. every little bad thing snaps a tiny piece of your soul until eventually it completely shatters. And you know, it’s finally time to go. So few people leave a bad thing RIGHT when it gets bad. That old familiar body ache, the snaps from the same little breaks in your soul.. you know… it’s finally time to go. The verses are all describing different bad situations that could happen in your life. Work, relationship, friendships. Eventually, you know when it’s time to leave. Whether that’s leaving a job, cutting off a toxic friend, leaving a bad relationship. And the bridge verse that starts with “15 years 15 million tears begging until my knees bled” is her saying her own bad situation, when her masters were purchased. She was signed to that record label for years & begged to own her own work. She gave it her all but got nothing at all, and scooter wonders why she left. He sits on his throne in his palace of bones praying to his greed refers to scooter braun, the shitty music exec who in a way betrayed her. He’s got her past frozen behind glass (her old albums) but she’s got her. And look what she’s done since then.. re recorded her own music, because all she needs is herself :)
Before you move on to the next era, definitely take a quick stop back in Midnights land for all the exciting things that happened these last few days. Karma with Ice Spice, Snow on the Beach new version with additional Lana vocals, Hits Different if you haven't heard it and the brand new song You're Losing Me which has everybody gagged right now
Hi! I absolutely loved your reaction, I almost can’t believe these were bonus tracks! Hehe also for another reaction can I recommend “your loosing me” released this past Friday. It’s insanely good and heat breaking!
I have been LOVING seeing you react and discover what you like and dislike( don’t love) abt Taylor’s discography. Also, your makeup always looks f’ing stunning!!
Hey Shelby, just wanted to say something about Right Where You Left Me! Some Swifties theorize that it's narrated by Este's character in No Body, No Crime, in the sense that when she was killed by her husband, she went into a purgatory where she's reliving the heartbreaking moment over and over again, i.e. her being frozen in that moment. 👀
I know the most recommended album to do next is Reputation, which it really is a great change, but I think you may also like Lover a lot. It's like Invisible String cutesy vibes all throughout (hence the name), but with more upbeat sounds. ✌🏼
I think for me my favourite thing about her albums would be how you literally cannot pick one. I don’t have a favourite album, because it just depends on my mood. They are all so completely different that you just can’t compare them. I was saying this to my mum the other day 😂
Your reactions are super fun. I suppose reacting to Red then 1989 then Reputation and lastly Lover would be ideal, but I understand that's a long way to go. Take care of yourself.
No, yeah, i can understand being burned out on songs after listening to them over and over. When I really like a song I wanna put it on repeat but I stop before I lose interest, if not I have to go through a dry spell before I can even THINK of listening to it again. When Midnights came out i realized I still hadn't given Folklore and Evermore a proper listen so I had to do that before touching Midnights. The bad news, I wanted to immerse myself with those CDs... I eventually pulled myself out of it and gave Midnights a try. Now I'm juggling 3 but I just got out of my Folklore haze and slid into my Evermore phase. I'm gonna go to Red (Taylor's Version) and maybe Fearless (Taylor's Version) all hopefully before July when my fave album comes out, Speak Now :) Its the CD that hooked me in completely. (I'm sorry Reputation, you are severely backlogged)
i just discovered your channel and i already watched all your taylor videos 😅 i would recommend red (taylor's version) it has some of my favorite songs and the vault tracks are really good, i think you would also like reputation!! anyway loved your videos!!!
YES its time to go is about Taylor leaving scooter and her old management/record label its so under rated and deserves more recognition its such a great song. RWYLM though is about heartbreak and a break up and not being able to move on from it. Both are under rated songs and are my fave from the evermore album
I too love invisible string and it’s in my top five off folklore! It’s a lot more sad now since Taylor and Joe split up. You should listen to speak now next since it’s the next re-record!
People can disagree on which taylor song they like or dont like but all agree that the songs are pure genius lyrically and production wise and i love thatt Like wording everything the way she words it? Not obvious Singing over/with the production the way she does? Not obvious Having the background music/production the way it is? Not obvious Its offensive
If you listen to Rep you need to make sure you understand the background of what happened between her, Kanye West, and Kim Kardashian. People shit on Look What You Made Me Do but if you were in all the drama when it came out it at least makes sense. I was so proud of her when it came out 😅
I really appreciate when people may not love her music but they can admit she has talent, like I'm not asking you become a diehard Swiftie but maybe admiting she has talent instead of sending tweets discrediting her😭 Sry just came from the toxic wasteland that's twitter
These tracks feel like she was still conflicted about the rerecordings and just didnt know what to do. Like in the video for I Can See You, she loves the past work but knows she can no longer have it and has to move on and make it all hers again. Its hard to walk away from people who've already checked out of your life 😢
Just so you know Im a die hard and I have to read the lyrics multiple times to get what she’s saying. It takes even longer to fully fathom what tf she’s saying sometimes!
Taylor is honestly not a one listen girlie. Some of my favorite songs by her I didn't get on the first listen or as my mood and understanding changed I had a new appreciation for her songs and albums as a whole. So don't feel rush to rank the albums because your feelings might change overtime!!

wait I love that
Ever since I fathomed that i lost my shit. She is such a genius
Love this❤️ thanks so much for reacting! Can you please do The Alcott next?
What a wild time to enter the Taylor universe. I also recommend Rep…it’s hard to compare Taylor albums because they are so unique and different to one another.
We need to see rep or red next !! and after speak now taylors version is out that!
i'm thinking about doing rep next 👀
@@shelbmathews yes PLEASE!

I can def see that being a thing with her music :)

aw I didn’t know that was the last song she released before starting the re-recording process :,)
I think rep would be a nice switch from folklore and evermore 😂
I could use some upbeat music hahaha

i NEED to see this !!
You’re losing me is such a great song i love it
Ohhh! Well then I should get ready to cry again! Ahhhhhh
I actually haven’t been able to stop listening to it, its a whole problem-
Taylor reallly gave us the bonus tracks and went: everyones gonna bawl their eyes out over this
Queen of gut wrenching lyrics
no literally. lyrics did not make me feel better 💀
