I have a set of the Outcast v2 tires to put on my Vigilante to see if they improve the handling. I think the Outcast is better because of that thick heavy chassis being so low to the ground. The Vigilante is definitely better than my Xmaxx handling wise. I'm gonna put a Max 5 and big can motor in it but seeing this makes me think it's better to wait until Vitavon or someone makes an aluminum center diff for it. If the Max 6 and little motor are doing this then way more power and geared to the moon definitely wouldn't be good. Somewhat off topic but I think the Fireteam is the best all around basher there is of any size. It does everything well and is even fairly powerful stock. I do plan to donate the Vigliante electronics to the Fireteam when I upgrade them.
From just watching, the Vigilante sure seems to handle exceptionally for it's size. My use is very similar to what you're doing here, ripping a track and just general shenanigans. For which I think the Vigilante is perfect for. Shame about the diff, though not suprising, those MX43'S will stress any rc's drivetrain. @@rcguygarage Me too! I'm not knocking Redcat or the Vigilante. I'd buy a Vigilante or 2 in a second if I had the scratch, but I'm weary of adding a big can or heavy tires to one. I used some silicone lubricant on one of the RC s after cleaning and then blew it out with compressor air and it looks brand new . I saw Walmart had two brands , one was 3in 1 labeled for RV care and the other Blaster silicone lubricant which I got . Worked great . I had used wd 40 but noticed dirt build up .
I've always been under the impression that the looser the diff oil the hotter it gets, so maybe running just ear plugs without oil will solve the heat issue, I was just reading a write up on a rc forum dedicated to differential tuning and the concensus is lighter weight oil can "cook" the diff causing clicking and thermal expansion. Maybe its worth a shot to stuff a few silicone ear plugs in their and see if that helps keep it cooler. I'm not very savvy when it comes to diff tuning but it could be worth it just to try and then you can eliminate that being the issue. Anyways keep up the great content and hope you get it sorted because they truck is so close to being just the best 5th scale.
Such an awesome truck man!🔥 I'm wondering if the heat is because the rear dif might be putting extra work on the center if it is low or has too much friction for some reason. It could be those heavy pro lines too. I think I'd stick with stock tires until an aluminum dif case is available but it does seem to run OK with them other than the heat. Of course the servo is probably taking a hit from the heavy tires too.. Great video brother! 💯 🤜 🤛
Glad that you let us know about the earplugs issue. I litterly did the earplug after watching your video. I contacted Redcat support to find out what stock diff fluid weights are....100k front, 150k center, 80k rear.
36:16 on Do RC's channel he tested odd tire sizes with his thermal imager, and after a run (even a normal sized tire run) the center diff was hotter than both the motor and ESC. It was nuts.
@Boogie_the_cat not nuts if the center diff is tuned more open that thing is WORKING for it's life balancing out the power as tuned. Slow it down with thicker fluid and it'll chill better as not working as much👍💯
just finished the video i think the heat is caused by the diff "diffing" too much. i would try shimming it up a little tighter and pack it completly full of ear plugs so its almost like a spool. see if that helps untill someone comes out with a aluminum diff cup. maybe M2c or scorched or someone is already working on it.
Rule of thumb I live by with my rc's heavier fluid shim the big inner planetary gear. I do this on all my bashers when I put heavy fluid in. The more heat with heavier weight=more expansion. But good work with this truck
I wanted to let you know. I went by hobby quarters yesterday and actually took a video of the area where you bash, the cars that you can try there. Also found out your name is bill very nice to meet you.I'm dave and I love watching your videos.Thank you very much and keep it up.
A shim pack for the spider gears with definitely help as there's no buffer between the back side of the gear and the diff plate 👍💯 there's still life in those bad boys 🤣😂
Hopefully you will get it sorted out. I would guess that cleaning it out and only earplugging it would reduce the friction inside and maybe less heat would build up? Just a guess though. It doesn't seem like any fresh air can get to it the way its buried deep inside all the plactic housings. Maybe a few breathing holes could be drilled in the housing to let some of the heat escape? I did the ear plug on mine and it runs way better with the stock tires by far with much less ballooning...I believe you are onto something running belted tires with thinner/stock diff fluid...thanks for all the info with the different things you are trying!
no worries the exact same happened to me. played around witg deff weights, earplugs caused heat. the plastic casing on diff does not agree with the gears themselfs getting hot. they spread and chew the ears. i bought 3 diff set ups. and tried a few plugs, alot of plugs, and 20mil diff fluid. all sane results. i ordered another diff assembly and returned it close to stock. we'll figure this out. so many extra parts laying around now. but i am back up and running. been battling this since it released. i got it over night shipped the same day it released. i have a ton of info just no youtube to help post and inform others before they try it. i even tried extra shimming and no shimming. all the same results sadly. only spent amost 200 dollars on just gears for this truck. 😅
And sometimes that's the difference with certain people some thrive on the challenge of the underdog which is where I'm at it seems like that's where you are as well
yes I love a challenge as well you should really see my xte black out. it's modded to the the moon and insanely durable. not to mention it will do 65mph no issues. I love redcat. so much room for tinkering with their products!
Nice truck. Maybe have to stick with the stock wheels & tires until an aluminum case is available. Or, might be worth a check to see if your XMaxx-turned-XRT’s center diff is interchangeable since there is already a metal (w/ cooling fins) upgraded center diff for it.
Hey I got that blower lol...Different stickers but exactly the same...Mine is a DataVac made in USA...Got it over 10 years ago still works good as new...
Ya go back to my first answer. Probably the rear pinon gear. The gear that spins the rear diff. Happen to my xmaxx when the cush drive when bad. I couldn't pop no wheelys and i though it was the center diff. But it was the the gear coming from the center to the rear diff that was striped just alittle. Runs fine but hit it hard you get the sound and cant really pop the front end up anymore.
@@rcguygarage the housing is plastic so not going to expand making the gears come apart. Plus the gears expanding would make then closer together. Only way that makes sense is if then screw are always loose . Check see if they become loose again. But I would check the gear that rotates the rear diff. Did you check that gear or you just assume it's not?
@@coolhawk2003 yes the heat with thermal expansion allowed the 4 screws to loosen enough to cause internal gear skip. Planetary gear shim and fluid swap👍💯
@@rcguygarage that's not going do nothing. Screws are going come loose still. It not that are not close. It's they become out of line. Shimmys may just grind when before it loosens. Can you drill the screw hole and put longer screw with a bolt then? 🔩
I have to say that Redcat is really stepping up their game! With a truck like this, I agree with you guy... Metal case might solve that! It could also be the plastic surrounding it not allowing it to cool properly? I think I'm sold though, really want one now!
You see this is what's great even though an RC has an issue because of the extreme how do I even say it bashability or drivability people still want this RC and that's where I'm at point blank this thing is mint even though it's got an issue I don't mind trying to resolve an underdog thing and who knows maybe the issue is me 😜👍💯
@@rcguygarage I'm a big fan of Redcat 1/5 gas trucks. I have 3, one I converted to electric. But all of them I beat the living daylights out of them! (sometimes not such a good driver...just watch my RUclips lol) They are pretty tough! The new vigilante is their 1st electric 1/5 that I'm excited to buy! Keep running it guy! I like your insight when you get interested in something!
I'm only a little bit into the video so far but I just wanted to add that when you backed into that tree your truck changed directions very abruptly from going backwards to forward as you tried to save it. That, on 8s, could definitely calls issues in a diff gear. Now if you would put like 20 million or 5 million somewhere around that oil in there you probably would not have had the issue but that ear plug can get broken up inside of the diff. I stopped using earplugs a long time ago and there's better ways to lock a diff up that isn't truly locking it up and allowing it to move as it needs to to help save you from instances like that.
Metal diff case for sure. I'd even rig a fan on it to keep it cooler. The truck is primed to be the next big contender, it just needs a couple tweaks. A rig that size shouldn't have to struggle with heavier tires, and the hottest part of the rig should not be plastic. Once that metal diff comes out, this thing will dominate the competition. It's already so much lighter! I truly appreciate your content. Thanks, and keep up the exquisite work!
@@rcguygarage yeah that’s all I was saying RC guy the parts are cheap you just need aluminum one to dissipate the heat . Someone will be making them soon because it is becoming popular
I have seen it before in U-joints etc... that if you over fill them with grease there is no room for expantion when the grease heats up and they get hot, 🤔 I wonder if you cleaned out all that is in it and just filled it half way or a bit more if it would get as hot? Good luck John C
One thing at a time guy 🤣😂 I have to flatten and regrade things so I can get rid of water bring down the left side grade looking from the house and then start to create better stuff but there's so much work to do guy in the so little time I'm sure you understand
I love redcat rc,s. I have a newly Aquired redcat rampage 1/5 gas rc. I'm loving it. They do some weard designs though. Like that machete. The center diff design on that rc is majorly flawed. And the big youtubers won't mention it. Pretty sad. But as long as your handy with a wrench. Then redcat is for you.
How hot was the rear diff? Being it is ring gear is direct meshed to the center diff. Could the rear be the heat source? It was clicking when the front was raised loading the rear. Just a thought??
If you end up finding an aluminum case can you run the truck one more time with the plastic diff case and check the temp with a temp gun to see what it's getting up to? I'm just curious. To burn up the fluid in one battery pack is insane. That fluid looked 5 years old. Haha I'm surprised the plastic didn't melt.😳
Dude hope you get this figured out is a gear mesh too tight causing it heat up maybe🤔 love this truck mine Is on order I see redcat has clear bodies for it already sweet painting mine red so mine will go faster🙂
Hey do you think that the grease in that diff may not have been proper or decent quality HITEMP grease? May be a good idea to get the highest quality grease you can find and try it against what is in there. it will also provide us with a grease quality benchmark.
@@OutofControl_RC unfortunately for this circumstance grease is not going to help with the cushioning of gear mesh or the quality of the material in that metal used. I posted some macro shots of the gear material showing its porosity. 👍
@@rcguygarage Good point, i didn't say but i was referring to the diff. fluid as well, (actually mainly sorry I had a brain fart) reading it back now. I should have been more clear in my comment as what I was actually referencing my idea from is greasing a wheel bearing on a old drum brake setup on a full size car. which may still have merit. What do you think?
seems to me the oil was to light. i would do 20m in center. it wouldn't have the opertunitys to diff out. 20m would hold it still and not letting it diff out. isant that is what is happening? JM2cent. have fun
When you see the diff oil black chunky it overheated , you may need a new diff cup , definitely skipping without chewing the gear ⚙️, are the WOV Gears ⚙️ the same , I know they used a aluminum diff cup
Greatly appreciated, you saved me and om sure orhers 800 bucks. Ill stash that RC residual income and wait and see if any new releases from Arrma or losi will drop. Better 1/6 and 1/5 scale RCs that wont crumble after a few packs i.e screws falling out, diffs stripping etc. Thee hype for this truck is over, now all you see are videos of Xmaxx type issues with this truck.
@@rcguygarage I'm trolling bro, I just like to stir the pot in the comment sections lol. I'm still going to get this RC, are kidding me lol. I view you videos daily because you're a everyday joe like most of us. Anyway, I think you want to run a few packs without those badlands, i believe those heavy ass wheels contribute to my strippes xmaxx front and rear diffs.
I am sure if you talk to redcat they would be able to help. That was super hot along time after running it hell you took it out and it was still hot !!!🔥 they are sending new parts out for their rock crawlers because of problems.
Yes👍💯 I'm not interested in free parts I just want to see if this truck can take my driving habits. This thing is an awesome RC for sure. What I'm doing is torture I'm sure but I'm having a total blast
Redcat should make an aluminum center diff. Sell it aftermarket if they need. Wouldn't be any different than traxxas not putting hd arms or metal gear servos in their xmaxx. Just a weakness it has. The way it drives would make it worth the trouble
Are you talking specifically about this center diff or other vehicles because that's exactly what I did all along while telling everybody this is a bad idea 😂🤣😂🤣 I was just hoping the thermal expansion wasn't going to be as bad as it was
the grease will not help. makes it worse. breaks down the earplugs making a super thick goey substance that thins the hotter it gets which in turn will let the assembly of gears move and cause Friction adding even more heat. trust me. went through 3 diffs
yes almost.... if you run this pack after pack, don't do ear plugs just yet. keep it between 100k -1mil at max!!!! im running 1mil and so far its doing ok. but only time will tell. when aluminum cups along with some kind of heat dissipation set up you may be able to do it... we're all learning itone step at a time so who knows...
still let's some power escape and absorb through the front and holding puch 4 well. today will go full send at punch level 5 and running 120c 7200mah packs I will come back to inform.. I'm sorry guy I don't mean to hop on your channel and comment on everything but you are littlerally the only guy making very intimate videos with this truck. it helps to know the ins and outs. this truck is a game changer on a new platform for the hobby. it drives like a smooth wind but so powerful as well!
Ya cool I haven't got into the bigger cars yet but I'm looking for a decent car was looking at a 6s kraton I have a quite a few amazon cars and there all junk break so easy figure spend some decent money hopefully last longer ....
2 minutes in...iirc ExocagedRC guy did basically what you did and then some, he filled the center diff with earplug(s), then even went ahead and put a bigger motor in it, yours breaking is probably bad luck rather than pushing it, i dont remember if he also changed tires on it, but he went crazy on everything else, his truck seems ok, crazy air jumps too. PS: Looks like it didnt actually break anything, nice!!!
These are proline Badland MX43s They are the most destructive tires for terrain and gearing 😂🤣 I never used the stock tires because I knew these tires would bring out any sort of potential issues It would just facilitate it faster. Stock tires run fine I'm sure as that's what this vehicle was designed for It's when you start changing stuff is when normally you will encounter issues and that is for me an issue. 👍💯 I'd still buy this truck knowing everything I do right now
I tore mine new out of the box VG and looked at all the diffs before running it and thought all the same things with very little diff fluids but seemingly very well built truck my Xmaxx center diff isn’t any easier to get to one of the things maybe the only thing I like better about my arrmas, guy I’d go with the new vitavan gears in the center at least and run 100m in center 20m maybe to much just a guess
From what I can see it looks like there was way to much in the diff and was causing it to expand from heat and then made the gears slip because if you look at the big gear on the right the outer edge is not normal looking! But you should only be filling that up to the top cross bar of you’re gears don’t fill it up so much and it should be fine but check you shims if there is any and make sure they are fine first before putting back together
Yes definitely familiar with how differentials should be handled but the only way to experiment with something is to actually do it and show the results 👍💯
But you put 500k in and it’s still did it so I’m thinking your filling it up to much still is what I’m saying when you opened it up again with the 500k it still looked to full
Only fill it up to the bottom of the top gear shaft or even less, they only had it 1/4 filled when you opened it from the box! Ps I watch you’re vids daily lol love them I literally can’t wait to see what fun you had the day before 🤟
Not sure that I completely agree with what you said but it is something I keyed in on in the very beginning 🤣😂🤣😂 after driving the RC I do have to more than disagree well it might be flawed where does the flaw lie with the operator or the machine
Centre diffs get hot, don't worry about it, all you can do is upgrade to aluminium if possible, as long as the diff housing doesn't warp you're all good
@@Ricardormrr oh believe me guy The struggle is real in New England right now once again we've had days and days of rain so the whole backyard is a mud pit and I really don't feel like cleaning a disaster so I've got to wait for it to dry up a little bit to continue on with the backtrack
just replaced the rear diff gears in my kraton 8s if they don't last at least 20 runs then it is gonna have to, yeah you guessed it Guy, it is gonna have to "Get Otta Here!!" and will get this, upvoted!!
Everything has it's limitations and that being 8s and pounding the snot out of it not giving g it time to cool down is the problem, udr has the same problem with rear diffs
I’d say only fill up you’re diff about half way probably to the bottom of the top gear shaft and you problem should go away 🤞 if the gears are not wore down not chipped but worn
Yeah I normally use 20 mil but I didn't feel like that was going to be enough so I went a different route and then I went totally backwards again knowing that it was probably going to be an issue but I still needed to test it out. The plastic is suffering from thermal expansion.
You didn’t do anything wrong, they know what we are going to do to these things. The diffs are just the weak point on that truck. I saw Exocaged on you tube break the rear diff on his second run. Chipped the teeth off of the ring gear. I will buy one of those, but I am waiting until Vitavon comes out with their diffs and other upgrades. I drive harder than Exocaged and I definitely bash harder than you. That’s not a dig on you or Exocaged, I’m just not happy unless I’m doing close to 80+ and sending it 100 feet in the air. That’s what RC is to me.
At the end of your video. Wow design flaw using plastic everywhere. Plus you added them heavy wheels. 😢 it definitely needs alluminum upgrades. Hold your hand out. Tell redcat it needs alluminum center diff housing. They should have known this. To bad bro. Truck looks cool to. Ugh.
I’ve had my car 2 months an still ain’t played with it for more. Then 20 mins took the center diff out 4 times in one day. This truck is junk. Takin mine back. To get refund Friday There junk an don’t offer any metal center diff!
Hold off Wait up a little bit see if you can snag a warranty and in the meantime VITAVON is working on a resolution. I mean I'm not telling you what to do guy but it is a good truck with Traxxas factory gearing

Center diff👍💯
I had mine 2 months. Ah went threw 3 center diffs an 2 rears! Takin it back to trade it in!
Wow two comments saying almost the same thing I commented on your other one
Metal centre diff case is a must for big RCs
would love to see it!
Or maybe aluminum to help Dissipate the heat better..with fins/blades even. Like a heat sink
@@jamesfranco3567 "Or"? He said metal lol.
Good job rcguygarage, it looked great, I'm really happy.
Fill it full of jb weld lol!!! Great vid Guy!💯🔥💥🚀
This thing is a TOTAL BLAST for sure
Looks like my car wash blower I’ve been using just smaller 😮
YES👍💯👊 Now I know why you use it😳😜👍💯
im sure gpm or hot racing will have aluminum diff cups soon. this is one rig that it may be a good idea for.
I'm hoping Redcat themselves will step up to the plate
@@rcguygarage yeah that’s all I was saying RC guy the parts are cheap you just need aluminum one to dissipate the heat . Someone will be making them soon because it is becoming popular
I have seen it before in U-joints etc... that if you over fill them with grease there is no room for expantion when the grease heats up and they get hot, 🤔 I wonder if you cleaned out all that is in it and just filled it half way or a bit more if it would get as hot?
Good luck John C
Having the right weight fluid definitely helps. I purposely overfilled to see the result👍💯
Good job guy is always a fun video 👍💯🍒 running good all right 😮
You don’t need to take the whole front apart. Just back half an 4 bolts to the front. For the center section
Yeah I don't know guy first time taking it apart without instruction think I still did pretty good don't you
Talk about drive it like you stole it haha " full trigger guy!"
Hey Guy it is Awesome you got your back yard track back but where are the jumps ?
One thing at a time guy 🤣😂 I have to flatten and regrade things so I can get rid of water bring down the left side grade looking from the house and then start to create better stuff but there's so much work to do guy in the so little time I'm sure you understand
One hour on the tractor and you’ll have a bad ass track bro… that will be soooo much fun
Two hours today and barely a DENT GUY 😂🤣
@@rcguygarage oh damn… you’re on it!! It’ll be worth it
I love these can t blv not sold in uk
I love redcat rc,s. I have a newly Aquired redcat rampage 1/5 gas rc. I'm loving it.
They do some weard designs though. Like that machete. The center diff design on that rc is majorly flawed. And the big youtubers won't mention it. Pretty sad. But as long as your handy with a wrench. Then redcat is for you.
Well said 👍💯
How hot was the rear diff? Being it is ring gear is direct meshed to the center diff. Could the rear be the heat source? It was clicking when the front was raised loading the rear. Just a thought??
Rear was typical definitely thermal expansion👍💯
If you end up finding an aluminum case can you run the truck one more time with the plastic diff case and check the temp with a temp gun to see what it's getting up to? I'm just curious. To burn up the fluid in one battery pack is insane. That fluid looked 5 years old. Haha I'm surprised the plastic didn't melt.😳
Not done👍💯
Dude hope you get this figured out is a gear mesh too tight causing it heat up maybe🤔 love this truck mine Is on order I see redcat has clear bodies for it already sweet painting mine red so mine will go faster🙂
It'll get figured out It's just going to take a little bit I definitely know I'm asking too much
what about the battery tray? did you change it for the larger batteries while you pull it apart
Nope just running it as is
Hey do you think that the grease in that diff may not have been proper or decent quality HITEMP grease?
JM2cent. have fun
Over filled to see outcome
@@rcguygarage Thats what i do every time i sit at the dinner table.
When you see the diff oil black chunky it overheated , you may need a new diff cup , definitely skipping without chewing the gear ⚙️, are the WOV Gears ⚙️ the same , I know they used a aluminum diff cup
Yeah but the black chunkiness isn't diffluid that was a single ear plug that got cooked by overheating which caused thermal expansion of the plastic
Will using a high temp grease help with the thermal breakdown?
No
Greatly appreciated, you saved me and om sure orhers 800 bucks.
Yes you have to do whatever works for you but I point blank would buy more of these myself if I just had the cash laying around but that is just me
@@rcguygarage
I'm trolling bro, I just like to stir the pot in the comment sections lol. I'm still going to get this RC, are kidding me lol. I view you videos daily because you're a everyday joe like most of us. Anyway, I think you want to run a few packs without those badlands, i believe those heavy ass wheels contribute to my strippes xmaxx front and rear diffs.
@@spenn2007 ALL OF THIS🤣🤫 but that's also why I'm running these tires as they helped kill my X-Maxx 🤫😜
This is almost my exact line of thinking 👍💯
23:36 total kgm moment 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂🤣😂🤣
With the ear plugs leave a little oil in the diff, I haven't had this problem
Are you talking specifically about this center diff or other vehicles because that's exactly what I did all along while telling everybody this is a bad idea 😂🤣😂🤣 I was just hoping the thermal expansion wasn't going to be as bad as it was
the grease will not help. makes it worse. breaks down the earplugs making a super thick goey substance that thins the hotter it gets which in turn will let the assembly of gears move and cause Friction adding even more heat. trust me. went through 3 diffs
@@thomasedwards9024 so completely cleaning the stock fluid then going with the earplugs (or way thicker fluid) is the answer?
yes almost.... if you run this pack after pack, don't do ear plugs just yet. keep it between 100k -1mil at max!!!! im running 1mil and so far its doing ok. but only time will tell. when aluminum cups along with some kind of heat dissipation set up you may be able to do it... we're all learning itone step at a time so who knows...
still let's some power escape and absorb through the front and holding puch 4 well. today will go full send at punch level 5 and running 120c 7200mah packs I will come back to inform.. I'm sorry guy I don't mean to hop on your channel and comment on everything but you are littlerally the only guy making very intimate videos with this truck. it helps to know the ins and outs. this truck is a game changer on a new platform for the hobby. it drives like a smooth wind but so powerful as well!
I second this that truck is a beast and makes my Traxxas look like crap
Looks like a sick truck leaving it stock with oils in diffs will it do the same thing hate to spend that kinda money and that be happening...

I think maybe my terrain and the way I'm running it the slightly different is my guess👍💯
time plays a roll. if you roll through packs. heat builds up
What’s up guy! What is the name of the tires you put on this? Did you ever use the stock tires to compare the ride between both?
These are proline Badland MX43s They are the most destructive tires for terrain and gearing 😂🤣 I never used the stock tires because I knew these tires would bring out any sort of potential issues It would just facilitate it faster. Stock tires run fine I'm sure as that's what this vehicle was designed for It's when you start changing stuff is when normally you will encounter issues and that is for me an issue. 👍💯 I'd still buy this truck knowing everything I do right now
Maybe vitavon will see this video and help us out
I tore mine new out of the box VG and looked at all the diffs before running it and thought all the same things with very little diff fluids but seemingly very well built truck my Xmaxx center diff isn’t any easier to get to one of the things maybe the only thing I like better about my arrmas, guy I’d go with the new vitavan gears in the center at least and run 100m in center 20m maybe to much just a guess
👍💯
What tire combo you using
Mx43s they are very piggish for stock quality gearing

The Shredder had the problem with expanding plastic diffs
Thermal expansion is a real thing 🤣😂
Looks and drive better than my xmaxx
Back to the drawing board😳
With what😂🤣😂🤣
@@rcguygarage that was while I was watching the video… that’s when the diff started clicking the second time
From what I can see it looks like there was way to much in the diff and was causing it to expand from heat and then made the gears slip because if you look at the big gear on the right the outer edge is not normal looking!
I’m almost 99.9% sure if you put less diff fluid in she will be good to go 🤞
Only fill it up to the bottom of the top gear shaft or even less, they only had it 1/4 filled when you opened it from the box!

Many Arrma 1/5 and 1/7 scales blew diffs every run
Needs metal diff cup
VITAVON I'm guessing it's on board
i think its front dif
You switched two screws that are close in length last time you worked on it
Yep😂🤣
I think it's your rear diff ring and pinion
Centre diffs get hot, don't worry about it, all you can do is upgrade to aluminium if possible, as long as the diff housing doesn't warp you're all good

Using an earplug is a bad idea in my book… I would recommend traxxas 20,000,000 diff oil from the XMaxx.
Do you know which diff fluid you used to fix the center diff?
Yeah I normally use 20 mil but I didn't feel like that was going to be enough so I went a different route and then I went totally backwards again knowing that it was probably going to be an issue but I still needed to test it out. The plastic is suffering from thermal expansion.
@Nlangkirby135 It's not fixed It's suffering from thermal expansion I used Traxxas 50K overfilled but for a reason it still did not work out
You didn’t do anything wrong, they know what we are going to do to these things.
