Thank you god, a voice of reason... half of these guys on reddit are like, "All tcgs have these problems"... I'm like, not to anywhere near the same degree... RNG is absolutely hideous in this game and the sheer amount of things subject to it are mind boggling
The battle system was definitely an afterthought for this app. The primary focus is to fuel people's need to open card packs to complete the collection and have the Pokemon company make money ASAP.
Incidentally, I hate that aspect. I just want to be able to click "accept pack" and have it quickly list what's inside and continue. As it stands, it takes like 6 steps. Click packs, click the pack, cut the pack, click the card, click next when it adds it to your collection. Finally you can look at another one.
@@Ganking553 right there are a few cards that can gimmick out of it, but i dont see people using normal mewtwo over ex, or normal starmie over ex, or anycard over ex that dosnt have an ability or a move that counters all the energy stacking that some ex need. its also just been ex articuno, ex starmy, ex, ex, ex, then maybe an alakazam or weezing.
The more I’ve played, the more I’ve encountered this issue. I don’t know how I’m expected to go against decks that have 2 copies of 2 ex cards. Most my battles feel like a card difference unless I use some gimmicks to win very rarely.
@@Ganking553 Can you retards stop saying stupid shit like "Erm actually this one specific deck is actually a really good counter against this meta deck which beats out 99/100 other decks" Like do you have any idea how dumb that sounds?
To be honest, I think Gen 1 Tcg is more interesting to play than Pocket. Mostly because Pokemon have more than a single move and those moves actually had effects to them.
I've had 3 people tell me you are just whining because you got bad pack luck. However that is not the case, many things were done wrong and too early. Some people even cheat and reroll the accounts till they get EX first openings with the free packs. You explained this very thoroughly and please ignore the 3 people that said otherwise. I know this game is broken. It won't be fixed.
I’m enjoying the game but the rng feels rigged when playing against the Starmie Ex Expert Solo battle, the Bot you play against gets 2x Starmie EX’s, 2x Articuno EX’s and 2x Misty support cards, on their own they’re good cards but altogether it’s not even challenging it’s just completely unfair and unbalanced, also the bot always gets a good first hand/draft which’s end up with you getting blasted on turn 4-7 by a Starmie EX with 10+ plus energy while you’re still trying to evolve your bench and active card. I understand its an “Expert” level battle but it just feels impossible to do anything against that insanely overpowered Deck
There is a new cheat that some players are exploiting: so when it is your turn and you are about to make a significant play the other player can disconnect from the internet for about 1-2 mins reconnect and make you lose your turn and possibly make you reconnect with a disadvantage and make you concede.
Played 50 games and lost every single match because anytime I even try to build up everyone just uses basic stage EXs and they just wipe the floor with me
I wish they'd introduce game modes like maybe a non-ex mode? Or what about two-color decks mode? singleton mode? I wish they'd challenge the players more to build creative decks. Having only the meta to dictate deck building makes the game pretty rigid. Im lucky enough to have two articuno ex so I can build around that with my frosmoth line or blastoise line (and miss-ty is the bane of my deck) but I'd still like to play other decks so I'm tryna build around my other ex's. but they're not better than articuno ex so I'm still forced to play that on my matches if I want to win. MMR/ranked system would be nice too.
I’m glad you realize it’s not about skill. It’s about who has the most luck at those coin toss. Was playing non stop and came to this conclusion on day 3 when i got into deck building and testing. The best decks are the ones that has the most coin toss.
My favorite is losing to an aerodactyl who flips heads 4 times in a row, making it impossible for me to even attempt to play the game. The RNG is just wayy too prevelant and it makes every game feel like a massive coin toss.
Ok, I thought I was crazy thinking that going first was bad, but I see I wasn't. Yes, it would have been a lot better to not being able to use items, but attach an energy to your Pokemon (still not attacking). Maybe in the future it will be better when we have more kind of items, but right now, it's a great disadvantage. Also I would like to add that many of the items feel useless: Pokedex would be useful if you could reorder the cards (that's called scry in MTG), but just seeing the cards.... The deck is not that big in this format, so you'll probably get your card eventually, and you have better cards to search the deck, like the Pokeball and Prof. Oak. Also the Scope feels useless because of the same thing... The deck is so small that is hard for the opponent to not get the card they want, maybe you can use the Scope in combination with the Red Card, but again, the Red Card isn't useful because: The deck size, you're probably not going to bury the opponent's special card, if you didn't use the scope you actually might help him get the card they want. Or maybe they get a Prof Oak and draw 2 cards. You can wait for them to use both of his Prof Oak, but by that time, the game would be so advanced that after using the Red Card he will probably get the same cards.
My first observation in one of my videos is "Why would I just look at a card with Porygon and not even scry?" Red card is op since cutting hand size by 1-2 is strong.
This game is such a joke. I don't really understand the point of 1v1 battle at all. Each element has a weakness but there's no way to really exploit it because who you play against isn't deterministic at all. As a result, there's no real point in building a deck around trying to counter another deck. This might make sense with a draft or best of mode where you bring more than one deck but no such thing exists and requiring multiple decks would just raise the barrier to entry. Right now the top decks are mewtwo ex and pikachu ex and this is because both decks rely on ex Pokemon that don't need to evolve. You have an inherent advantage going into any match against a deck that requires evolution because you can basically attack after two turns. Also any Pokemon that has 3 evolutions is mostly useless against these decks because there are very few defensive Pokemon that can stall enough to get a T3 Pokemon against a turn 1 ex. Also it's really stupid that every deck needs professor's research and pokeball. Even with these cards, I can't tell you how many times I've lost the game because I just didn't get good rng on my card draws. There's no Mulligan, not really any other card that augments drawing. They can add a ranked mode, and a bunch of other modes but honestly it's not going to change the weaknesses of this game. It's just not a good TCG at all.
Thanks for confirming my thoughts. I play lots of card games and board games, watching a video of someone playing that game I couldn't believe how little strategy there is while playing.
This game has fun value due to the game itself. but quickly becomes just another background app with the points you brought up. Terrible balancing and it goes back to the devs.
Im definitely finding this game being flawed atm. I have a full mewtwo/gard deck but its objectively worse then playing starmie/tentacruel because finding middle stage mons is all lucky. And yea going first is just cheeks 90% of the time
I got to level 15 today and called it quits. You hit the nail on the head with everything, the ex cards are broken, and don’t even get me started on Dragonite
Dragonite wasn't much of a thing when I made the video. I did see it early on and go "that could be a problem, but Mewtwo and Pikachu are too fast for it" now the game has ended up even more of a mess. Balance is NEEDED fast at this scale
Potential fixes to Misty: 1. “You cannot play this card on your first turn.” No Donk. 2. “Target a Water Pokémon, flip 2 coins, you can attach a number of Water Energy up to the number of Heads flipped. If you attach 2 energy in this way, Pokémon with Target’s name cannot evolve or attack.” No donk, one turn of counterplay, and encourage people to not play mono-Articuno ex.
@@VerlisifyTrue. I didn’t want to completely nerf it. Water is guaranteed 2 coins, rather than rolling the 1/8 chance for 3 Water to turn 1 going first KO. And Water can choose to not attach 2 via Misty if they want to attack or evolve; better for having Starmie in the hand and an active Staryu, worse for Articuno. I’m trying to balance the deck without ruining the card.
Bad analysis, I started 4 days ago I have 3 accounts. Each one has a fully built deck. One mewtwo, one charizard, one pikachu. I just made the pikachu deck today. I already have 2 full art pikachu ex 1 pikachu ex 1 zapdos ex. I did reroll the pikachu account cause I was kinda in a hurry but the other account had pretty decent pulls too. Just wait a little, the game is fairly generous with cards. My main gripe with the game is that it’s about a pretty boring and stale game loop. There is hardly any strategy involved or deck creativity. Many cards are broken. The game is essentially flip to lose/win. Zapdos flip 4 coins. Moltres flip 3 coins. Misty flip unlimited coins. Pray that your Gardevoir and Kirlia show up. Pikachu 90 dmg 2 energy.
To make matters worse, lol they wanna make a game which is pretty much 95% RNG into a competitive ranked game lol. Then it’s simply a matter of playing the most consistent meta deck. Very likely being some form of Pikachu. Basic 90 damage 2 energy no need to roll. Guaranteed.
3:40 the coin flip rng specifically in my experience SUCKS a lot of times I’ve flipped heads like 10 times in a row in one half of the game and then flipped tails for the rest of the game
Much like the mainline game, I think 2 on 2 would go a long way to making this more of a game. Then, add card abilities built for pairing, and playing a slowpoke alongside a jynx or something funny could be the meta instead of high damage and HP.
I think devs can a little scared to put balance change. I have 15lvl and open over 30 Mewtwo packs to complete full Mewtwo EX deck. I will be very mad if my decks stop work after so much time to complete it. Hovewer in Hearhstone after balans change you can disenchant nerfed card for full price and craft other. I think that's would be good resoulition in PCPTG too.
@@aspookyscaryskeleton1474 As a f2p player i wanted mewtwo deck cuz its strong. However in "genetic apex mewtwo" are a lot of other good, fun and usable cards, so a lot of people chose it. I very like my decks like Gengar EX+Pidgeot and Dragonite+Weezing which all cards are in "genetic apex mewtwo". Other EX are also good.
I agree with all of this. I give up the moment I see someone bust out Mewtwo Ex. And dont get me started on Moltres Ex being popped immediately and requiring only 1 energy in the active slot to load up the bench with energy every turn. It has 140 hp. No one is taking that thing out that early. Best O could do was send it back to the deck with Aerodactyl and still get wrecked after
Yeaaaah, I'm glad you made this video. I felt like I was going insane. This game is ridiculously broken. I don't like playing battle mode, so I might just treat it as a collecting game that I spend 5 mins a day on.
A massive issue is that the cards aren't planned to be played on a 3 points/3 bench spot format; Like pikachu ex, in normal TCG you'd have to both have to deal with drawing 5 or 6 base electric pokemon between items, supporter, trainer, etc ...and the energies. Not having to draw energies is a major buff to a lot of pokemons.
yes mechanic is too simple..they can add in secret cards just lyk hearthstone...revive secret card to revive if active pokemon hp falls to 0.. revive with 40hp or so...or ESCAPE ROPE secret...if enemy attacks active pokemon..can automatically switch to bench and discard 1 energy from it...just IMO though...can add so many things since pokemon has so many items in game
@@Verlisifyyeah but Sabrina’s pretty worthless if the opponent can just swap in something with a low retreat cost, attach energy the following turn, then swap the threat back in for basically free. Forcing the opponent to RETREAT and pay the retreat cost, or as much of it as they can, would shoot up Sabrina’s usability in the current game climate that’s dominated by EXs. Gotta admit, though. I dunno what that would do for game balance. I just know something’s gotta change.
Another thought. Maybe have Sabrina let the one that played her choose who gets swapped in. Sure, lemme swap out your win condition for the no energy EX you played for the lols with the 3 retreat cost. Have fun building that up while I hammer away at your HP. I dunno lol.
@@NikemanBOOM Well yeah that’s cause Sabrina is a pretty balanced card, but it can still be useful if you use it when there’s Pokemon or ex’s with over 1 retreat on the board, and can sometimes disrupt a player building up their Pokemon. It can also force out a Pokemon you want to kill. I think Sabrina is fine as is
To paraphrase Jurassic Park: "They should have thought about whether they SHOULD, rather than if they COULD." But I've learned better than to expect much of any standard from the Pokemon community.
I did enjoy having a fossil in my bench, having a Zebstrika attack it, then be able to discard it. Also, I'd just like to add my personal experience. So far I've spent no hourglasses and have about 80 something cards. Being able to go up against an obvious whale with 4 EX cards and winning feels pretty good. It can be done with luck and strategy. then the other side of that is getting stomped, but at least those tend to be over quickly. My strat that I've enjoyed so far is go for damage with low stakes. the less coin flips the less chance to fail.
Most players are doing a save-delete method once they reach level 6 to see what they get from the first 50 packs, taking advantage of the game’s RNG system. This approach has allowed players to build decks they’re happy with, without needing to spend much money. Given the RNG factor, it’s unlikely many people will invest heavily in the game right now, especially since it’s easy to start over or create a second account. Additionally, with trading expected soon, having two accounts could be beneficial.
Yep, been playing 3 days. My kids love opening packs, but that's the only joy in this game. I've tried hard, but I only have a couple of ok decks, and I have literally started hating the pvp after only 3 days. Game will be over in a week I reckon.
I 100% agree with the fact that going first benefits no one but Misty+Starmie/Articuno decks. The game should limit 1 EX per deck. Playing 2 EX Articuno or Pikachus is so cheap. Also why doesn't this game let the player decide if they want to go first or second if they win the coin toss? I'm trying to play Machamp and going first is such a death sentence. I'd appreciate having to choose to go second if I win my toss.
There should be regulations on what goes in the deck. You shouldn’t be able to only have like 2 Pokémon in the deck with the rest support. It should be at least 10 of the cards are Pokémon, only 1 or 2 EX’s, no duplicate support cards in the deck, etc
Played 7 games of vs. 3 ex Mewto decks, 1 ex marowak, 3 regular opponents. Ex cards are so broken that the game is not fun, so it's a complete waste of time. Into the 🗑 it goes
I just made a Gengar EX/hypno deck, and the coinflip is absolutely rigged. I tried to use a deck that isn't the meta right now, and while I got a couple wins, not once did I win against a meta deck. In fact, against higher level meta deck users (especially mewtwo), not once did hypno's sleep ability help me, if I even managed to roll heads (2 heads, 14 tails. How is that proper coinflip RNG?). you're absolutely correct, the game is broken.
This game is very frustrating right now. Lost several games in a row just because I just couldn’t draw into kadabra. Had both Abras on the field, one fully loaded, and both Alakazams in hand. Just kept drawing items and supporters that weren’t professors research. Then on top of that, I kept flipping tails with kangaskhan… I’ve had a few good back and forth games but usually it’s a blow out on one side or the other
I just uninstalled. I am having a really good time, but every single time I try the beginner versus, it's Articuno EX spam, or Mewtwo EX spam. I cannot win with what I have against those cards. They ramp up too quick, too easily, and require little to no thought. I just don't have the cards to win and no amount of me trying to be clever will matter. The EX cards are broken and they completely ruin the fun.
Been playing for about a week now. Even from the trailer you could tell the aim wasn't gameplay or balance, it was collecting and gorgeous card art. Hell, even the tutorial and the interface obviously give priority to collecting. That's okay, I was prepared for that. Still, things like Misty and other totally luck dependent cards makes not just the collecting but also the gameplay designed for gambling addicts and way too unbalanced. It decreases the amount of fun and therefore the time and interest I'll invest into it. If you just like the card art and the "thrill" of flipping a coin, you can get both also for free and without downloading any game...
I don't have much hope that this game will get more balance as time goes on. The marketing for the game focuses on it being a pack opining simulator. The deck building seem like an after thought.
remember getting lucky on my first day with 2 mewtwo ex and two sets of gardevoir evos. I smashed some poor pinsir deck by turn 5. Felt so bad I have never ran it again; i know most people playing this are going to be kids. Those 60 card decks in traditional tcg were not a burden, they helped prevent yugioh style card rigging shenanigans; which this game will be full of until ranked is released. Recently pulled 3 ex articunos one being rainbow border and one ex starmie. Won't use them in anything but solo because I know stomping people will kill the player base. So I go in with my one wigglytuff ex deck anyone can unlock.
@@Verlisify used all my luck up in the first week. I imagine when the next meta drops I will be out of luck. Still I haven't played a Pokémon game since the Pikachu Gameboy color dropped and i played the tcg game non stop. I was hoping this would be that 2 electric boogaloo.
Yah so this issue only applies to those who don’t have any understanding of Pokémon at all. Alakazam is a non ex card that when paired with the right setup is unbeatable. No EX no nothing. Just one Sabrina and 1 Giovani. Also if your luck is that bad because you choose to only open 1 card pack that’s on you get a couple and then move to the different packs card points fill in the gaps for what’s missing. If you think ex cards are everything your wrong. Alakazam is the meta breaker
Playing a splash-colour deck is also one of the worst things. I WANT to make my Dragonite deck work but when I get nothing but 6 of the same energy in a row and NONE of the other, I'm screwed if I don't draw into my Chansey cards and other 'walls'. It's bad enough that I have to pray I get evolution cards but I have to add YET ANOTHER layer of RNG on top of it? FML (For the record, F2P here, so I am already struggling to get a "solid" deck, so I have to make do with "good enough".)
Yep, dual color decks are so unfun to play with the mana 50/50 rng. Terrible design choice. It needs to scale based on what energy has been drawn. And to let you pick a rough starting ratio.
Beating the Starmi Deck in the Verse mode is almost impossible even with Pikachu EX. Those fale pc drcks are totally rigged to get the best cards each turn.
I play from Germany. Have not done the beta. I play Versus in Beginner mode. I win a lot of games with my Fighting energy Machamp ex deck. But it feels to me like Pocket is about collecting cards in the first place. For epic battles I still play TCG Live.
I’ve found that there’s no real RNG, the game makes all the decisions for you and if you don’t play the way that the game wants you to play then you lose. If the game feels like you’ve won too many times or it wants you to replay the same solo battle a few times before it lets you win it for the rewards, then it will just give you impossible hands and give itself perfect hands until you’ve finally replayed the mission 3-5 times. Then it finally gives you a working hand with your deck that you know works because you just shit on all the other solo battles with it. Oh you just built a new deck that you saw somebody else play with and have great success with? Here’s 6 “random” matches of the deck type that you’re weak too and you’re gonna go first every time and all your coin flips for extra damage are gonna be tails. Fuck this game
Basic ex cards are ridiculous. Absolutely stupid. There’s just nothing any other card can do against a Pikachu ex or Articuno ex because they just DONT need to set up. Especially an articuno and starmie deck. Just ridiculous. Hydro splash doing 90 for 2 energy is especially dumb.
I agree . I was playing some matches yesterday and if I’m not running my best deck I automatically loose . And I had a someone that played misty for their EX articuno on the first turn . They had got tails and conceded right after . It’s BS at that point . I dint get to even play 😂. And I hope this doesn’t get like a pay to win game . Because only thing this game got is online . And I have bills so I won’t be able to keep up dumping money into NFTs
My best solution after years of expertise in balancing AAA games. Beginner mode: Unable to play EX cards this drastically helps new players and F2P players. Intermediate mode: All cards are playable here. Expert mode: Rank mode battle for Leaderboard.
The other problem that this game has is the hand creating RNG. Even with a good quality deck, you can start with one Basic pokemon and the rest of the hand is unhelpful support cards. Even after 3 or 4 turns, the RNG that draws either the wrong evolution stage, or more of your support cards that will do nothing helpful. Meanwhile, the opponent fills the board with all of their pokemon almost at will. There is no point to play past turn 3 because the game won't generate a playable hand.
Some decks like going first...exeggutor EX, regular starmie, regular marowak, regular exeggutor, beedrill...all 1 cost energy attackers...just put regular versions of starmie or whatever EX in your deck as well to mitigate the damage of going 1st. I don't think we've even scratched the surface of optimized decks and viable options. I'll listen to these complaints after you've played for a month or two but for right now, they mean nothing.
Yeah I'm lvl 15 ftp and I've gotten everything I possible can every speed up in the shop, missions, 100% solo battles and now can do nothing but play versus to gain xp which i lose to op decks most of the time some people are bad or unlucky but I got 8 wins out of like 30 lose so I can't even level up in peace 😢
Coming from a marvel snap player, the gameplay is mostly luck. Sadly you cant "outluck" the opponent. "you lost a coin flip? now pray that the opponent does some missplay so you can catch up to them and PRAY their/ your coin flip benefits you". Even if you're not playing a coin flip deck, you still have to coin flip your first/ second turn and play the coin flip against sleep deck. Its so tiresome.
Going first is a death sentence. Just let me attach a freaking energy if I have to go first… duh The coin flip RNG is horrendous. I’ve literally never gotten 2 heads with Misty. More times than not I get tails first flip.
As someone who loathes this game, the only deck venusaur counters is Pikachu EX. It can't outlast Mewtwo and Charizard, and it's too slow for Starmie/Articuno.
Another issue and I would say is an issue for some not most and sort of fixes the early beta users is Rerolling. Sure we can reroll infinite times until you reroll that perfect deck however and this was on me I didn't think that I just thought cool a fun TCG I can just play with friends and collect. It fixes the beta users because we can just reroll the perfect decks however those beta users have more days to collect packs and therefore have more card resource. So again it's an issue that is a fix for some but not really.
I kinda find it rather agitating they put a lot more effort into to the effects and customization of battles in this game over their already existing Pokemon TCG Live. I feel like this game is supposed to focus more on collecting over battles, so I’m sure that the battle gimmick will feel off, but yet they decided to really make it look more appealing.
Interesting… glad to see the list of initial problems in need of counters that will need found (if any are functional possible in the current state of the game).
I’ve played a lot of games in my life and this is by far the most rng I’ve ever dealt with kinda sucks the person who wins is the one who gets a better first hand. Games shouldn’t be almost determined after the first hand.
12:25 I think with trading, introduction of some new cards, a couple more weeks of opening packs the game going to be a lot of fun. Already having a blast with my Machamp deck and dunking on both Misty Lapras Starmie and the Mewtwo decks
Current state of game is terrible. Game deciding contant rng, bad balance, card collecting rng and some basic flaws in game design. Normal rng is part of every card game and it bring variety, nothing worng with that. As video mentions min maxing decks are far better than playing normal card game. You want only few strong pokemon to make your deck and that just wins because that is way to control rng. Then there is this player honor system that is not working at all. A lot of people are not thanking other players so rewards basing on that is not really working. System where you choose beginner or tcg level is not ever going to work. It needs rules either to promote people forward or even better have rules like that you cannot use EX cards there.
I had an issue where the player I was playing against timed out like waited 17 min kinda time out and 15 min later still in the game waiting for opponent to do something and them my connection dies and I lose.
I'm only 7 minutes in and so far this dude got the mail on the fuckin head, I'm playing and i don't have a lot of good cards and i damn near just concede 7 outta 10 games, and im like "i know I'm ass but how did some if these cards make it into this game???"
And I shouldn't complain about this cause I'm free to play but God damn, I don't pack SHIT, meanwhile my ex literally got 3 Mewtwos in one pack, like I'm not lying, she got the immersive Mewtwo, the ex Mewtwo and the gold full art Mewtwo, and her other pack pulls I'm like wtf she damn near got 1 of everything in the damn game
Just an FYI: the phrase is "hit the nail on the head," not "mail." This is because we're making believe the problem is a nail (the screw-like thing, not claws) that is getting hit with a hammer. Hope this helps!
I agree with everything you said, it's horrible on all fronts, no doubt about that. However, I do not think it's a "game". I think it's just trying to capitalize on the fact that opening packs has gotten some traction over the past few years, and so having something in your pocket that lets you open a couple of packs a day, you might get something nice to show your friends, or eventually trade, is what the app was made for. I do not think it was conceptualized as actually being a "game" in the sense that it was meant to be played, and have a gameplay loop that keeps you playing. No, it's just an app that lets you open packs, and the fact that they let you fight is just a gimmick.
I disagree with the analysis. The game on release is very generous. Im playing casually for less than 3 weeks and i have 4 to 5 complete decks as a f2p player. Three of them are the top battle decks. Also the game is not meant to be played competitive. It has A LOT of rng and its a collectible game nothing else. Thats why you showcase your collection for likes. Chill, take your time and eventually you will have a complete deck.
Ah, the weirdly balanced early stages of a tcg, lol. This isn't anything new. Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links had busted decks early on, Yu-Gi-Oh Master Duel even more so, Bloons Card Storm has a couple now, Hearthstone games were decided based on the opening hand in it's early stages. I'm less experienced with Pokemon tcg, I'll admit, but the earliest stages of a competitive game is typically the worst. It should get better with time.
most I don't agree but yea, the game IS rushed.. also, reason why first turn can't attach energy is because there are only 20 cards and getting a Mewtwo/Pikachu at turn 1 is almost certainly game over.
I don't consider bad design to mean rushed. Game has been in this state for months and doesn't show signs of being rushed, they just thought this was acceptable

Listen, I just want to put this here to play devil's advocate and add positivity. I play a deck without ex pokemon with a kang where I've gotten bad tosses and I've won a bit. It's possible. I've gotten slapped a few times too but I'm having fun. Unfortunate for those who aren't having fun though
My weezing deck prefers to go because next turn I get to evolve energy and poison my opponent and put pressure on them first but my two water decks prefer to go second I wish I had two muks so I can replace ekans and Arbok line with my weezing deck
Some of your criticisms are fair but a lot of your opinions are just complaining. There’s plenty of strategy that can be applied to this game other than the basic meta decks. I dunno I like the game, there’s many combinations that you can use.
@ well I have a few decks that I’ve beaten the metas using combinations not talked about in a lot in videos. The only thing I’ll agree with you is the game is based heavily on RNG mechanics and that’s fair otherwise you won’t lose and continue to just beat everyone. Some decks are more powerful than others but that doesn’t mean you cant* beat the over powered ones. And I disagree with your “objective” opinion. I just don’t think you know how to play the current tcg very well and are complaining about a mobile game.
This is why I don't expect much w these kind of game. I'm currently jst playing and trying to see any combo I can use. I'll give the game for a week if its sht straight out of my device 😂

@@Ganking553 Can you retards stop saying stupid shit like "Erm actually this one specific deck is actually a really good counter against this meta deck which beats out 99/100 other decks" Like do you have any idea how dumb that sounds?
Regular Charizard is still able to compete since it can still one shot most ex's such as Mewtwo
To be honest, I think Gen 1 Tcg is more interesting to play than Pocket. Mostly because Pokemon have more than a single move and those moves actually had effects to them.
Also no EX and much longer ramp
You should be able to trade in cards for points towards others.
That and more shop options

yeah there should be a blender you can toss cards into for their creation value, so you can build the deck you want.
My only gripe is that the exp gain isnt different between beginner and "trading card game player"
Didn’t know rerolling your account so I don’t have a trash deck and can instead get the one I want was cheating, but too late I already did it 😶
Misty is in the game because I am convinced that it is impossible to roll a head ever.
I just played ten games, not a single heads so far...
I just had an opponent rolled 8 freaking heads. He lost tho lmao I got a ss for it cause I was so shocked
I got one once... then everybody clapped
Whenever I play Misty, it's always tails first flip.
Whenever my opponent plays Misty, it's always 3+ heads on their Articuno turn 1.
rolled 15 times in a row not a single heads, similar to ex moltres
Seems like the game would be a lot better without EX cards
Search password NOEX under private match. Lots of people playing no ex decks.

Everything is luck. Still fun, but it’s always about who draws what first and who gets heads. There are few times where I’ve had to think though
This is how I feel about the game, largely unbalanced due to EX cards. I wish they add matchmaking for non EX card decks and make deck building fun.
We need this! The ex cards are killing the game for me. Where is the deck variety ?
This game has fun value due to the game itself. but quickly becomes just another background app with the points you brought up. Terrible balancing and it goes back to the devs.

Remember use the first 14 packs to reroll for 4+ ex cards with supporters
Im definitely finding this game being flawed atm. I have a full mewtwo/gard deck but its objectively worse then playing starmie/tentacruel because finding middle stage mons is all lucky. And yea going first is just cheeks 90% of the time
For real. Second is kinda better than first imo 😭
Yeah i feel this bro game is fun but u reach a point where all u can do is play online n let rng ruin you
Potential fixes to Misty:
1. “You cannot play this card on your first turn.”
No Donk.
2. “Target a Water Pokémon, flip 2 coins, you can attach a number of Water Energy up to the number of Heads flipped. If you attach 2 energy in this way, Pokémon with Target’s name cannot evolve or attack.”
No donk, one turn of counterplay, and encourage people to not play mono-Articuno ex.
The flip 2 also gives you a second chance to play at least 1 energy and not lose the game on insta tails
What stopping people from evolving then misty?

I can't comprehend how broken your brain is to say I'm wrong when you need multiple accounts and are rerolling accounts L M F A O
To make matters worse, lol they wanna make a game which is pretty much 95% RNG into a competitive ranked game lol. Then it’s simply a matter of playing the most consistent meta deck. Very likely being some form of Pikachu. Basic 90 damage 2 energy no need to roll. Guaranteed.

When farming S tier cards and decks being upset over balance doesn't seem justified
@Verlisify fair, good point
Tough shit you don't get to roll over the entire meta and ruin the game for anyone who doesn't wanna fight mewtwo ex/gardevoirs all day.
@@aspookyscaryskeleton1474 As a f2p player i wanted mewtwo deck cuz its strong. However in "genetic apex mewtwo" are a lot of other good, fun and usable cards, so a lot of people chose it.
A massive issue is that the cards aren't planned to be played on a 3 points/3 bench spot format;
Like pikachu ex, in normal TCG you'd have to both have to deal with drawing 5 or 6 base electric pokemon between items, supporter, trainer, etc ...and the energies. Not having to draw energies is a major buff to a lot of pokemons.
The cards are made for the format though since they didn't just port in regular cards. Its simply not balanced
@@Verlisify Damn, and I gave them the benefit of the doubt. It's just awfully designed then
yes mechanic is too simple..they can add in secret cards just lyk hearthstone...revive secret card to revive if active pokemon hp falls to 0.. revive with 40hp or so...or ESCAPE ROPE secret...if enemy attacks active pokemon..can automatically switch to bench and discard 1 energy from it...just IMO though...can add so many things since pokemon has so many items in game
feel like having a support or item card that forces the opponent to swap pokemon would help a little with the issue of ex pokemon
Sabrina swaps

On the subject of fossils, unlike the actual tcg, a fossil going down gives the opponent a point.
Fossil counts as KO in main TCG. I still think there is potential with it as a sack or deck filler
My bad. I'm used to Mysterious fossil that doesn't count as a KO. You're right that new fossils do.

Need those dataminers getting into the source code and finding rarer cards being luckier lmao
This game is very frustrating right now. Lost several games in a row just because I just couldn’t draw into kadabra.
Had both Abras on the field, one fully loaded, and both Alakazams in hand. Just kept drawing items and supporters that weren’t professors research.
Then on top of that, I kept flipping tails with kangaskhan…
I’ve had a few good back and forth games but usually it’s a blow out on one side or the other
I just uninstalled.
Doing the lords work despite the devil's luck
3:01 this happened to me. Also if you're opponent goes second they should be able to attach energy, but not attack on their turn
The entire game runs around EX, plus there is nothing to do after you finish the vs cpu fights. The pass looks unworthy at the moment
My best solution after years of expertise in balancing AAA games.
Beginner mode: Unable to play EX cards this drastically helps new players and F2P players.
Intermediate mode: All cards are playable here.
Expert mode: Rank mode battle for Leaderboard.
its just that easy
My god I wish that was a thing
Think this is the best idea I’ve seen in the comments
My exact thoughts after playing for a couple days and you put it well!
Main issue is energy, if you go first your basically losing unless they literally draw ass
Just let me attach a freaking energy if I have to go first… duh
The coin flip RNG is horrendous. I’ve literally never gotten 2 heads with Misty. More times than not I get tails first flip.
As someone who loathes this game, the only deck venusaur counters is Pikachu EX. It can't outlast Mewtwo and Charizard, and it's too slow for Starmie/Articuno.
I quit this game to many flaws
Losing to someone in turn one because they use misty and flip 4 heads is the dumbest shit the game is a joke
Sadly, I've learned this game is too pay to win with very little balance.
Ruins the game for me.
Not really pay to win, just unbalanced
Just an FYI: the phrase is "hit the nail on the head," not "mail."
This is because we're making believe the problem is a nail (the screw-like thing, not claws) that is getting hit with a hammer.
I was hoped they give use full start deck 😅
It is like people are being programmed to play, the same concept and same pokemon like legendary, pikachu, gardivor and dragonite, with a lovely misty
I havent played TCG since the Gameboy version 😅 So this has been an interesting experience
I lose every single game I play, I’ve spent money and have the best decks in the game and because I draw none of the cards I need I lose every game
The game has tons of potential. Im hoping all the content creators dumping money on this game will encourage pokemon to pump out updates.
The Mewtwo ex + Gardevoir Ability card combo is unbeatable. It is impossible to beat. It's so unfair.
It’s strong, but not impossible. Several decks can beat it
I disagree with the analysis.
It should get better with time.
the typing in this game is completely broken, its so unbalanced
Love the game but it’s flawed in some ways. I just hope they fix some of these issues
most I don't agree but yea, the game IS rushed.. also, reason why first turn can't attach energy is because there are only 20 cards and getting a Mewtwo/Pikachu at turn 1 is almost certainly game over.
I don't consider bad design to mean rushed. Game has been in this state for months and doesn't show signs of being rushed, they just thought this was acceptable
This game is simply bad. The ex cards are fucking absurd. Especially starmie and pickachu. This needs a total overhaul. Total garbage.
This bug completely bricks my whole tablet freezes at the point that it restarts its self not happy that I can't open any card packs because of this bug I even uninstalled the game and reinstalled it ya it worked some what but that annoying bug came back and trolled me when WTF game freaks
Totally agree. 1 after noon for clear all the content, that's a joke. No ranked match 💀 I have uninstall
tfw i have more fun vsing the bots
This game’s trash compared to the standard Pokemon TCG
I went first and beat some chinese name mashing mewtwo ex's with a wigglytuff ex because i won a bunch of coin tosses smile 😀
Some of your criticisms are fair but a lot of your opinions are just complaining. There’s plenty of strategy that can be applied to this game other than the basic meta decks. I dunno I like the game, there’s many combinations that you can use.
"There's many combinations" is objectively false. The power level of a few cards doesn't allow it
@ well I have a few decks that I’ve beaten the metas using combinations not talked about in a lot in videos.

My issue is that you get shit for xp when you win pvp.
