- Vida is Hero Motocorp's electric vehicle startup that has finally launched its first ever scooter - Vida V1 - in two variants - V1 Plus and V1 Pro at Rs 1.45 lacs and Rs 1.59 lacs (ex-showroom). The aforementioned prices are without any state subsidiary which may differ state to state. Vida V1 comes in two battery pack options - 3.44kWh and 3.94kWh for the Plus and Pro variants respectively. Both the versions get two removable batteries and can be charged via different options - a complimentary charger, a home charger for charging the batteries at home or any place, and DC fast charger being setup by the brand at different locations. Both the versions offer a peak power output of 8bhp and a continuous power output of around 5.2bhp. While the Pro version can do 0-40kmph in 3.2 seconds, the Plus does the same in 3.4 seconds before hitting the top-speed of 80kmph. The claimed range for the Plus and Pro are 143km and 165km respectively. Though we have tried to cover almost all the important features and aspects in this first look video, do let us know in the comment section in case we have missed out on anything, we will surely address those in our first ride video that's coming on 12th October.

THIS is the scooter I'd truly go for!
1) Dual channel ABS
2) Excellent Range
3) More than sufficient power
4) Removable battery and no society bullshit hassles for getting a plug/charge point installed, can easily be removed & charged at home overnight.
THIS IS IT. Got all the right things going for it. CANNOT wait for it to get launched in Mumbai.
Only one gripe, they could sturdy up the build a bit.
Only one thing is missing is big tyre of 16 inch which would be comfortable in rainy season and help fight potholes

In terms of build, this is more practical for indian condition. Swappable batteries is something that works in india.

@Vikas Uttam - You are absolutely correct. This is how all Companies in the world play with HUMAN Psychology and fool people. People who consider these features as a BOON are BLOODY IDIOTS.
I have seen lot of EV Scooter review videos and all of them doesn't talk about the build quality of it. Fiber, Plastic, and mix of both doesn't really work in T3 or T2 Cities in india. I own it one EV Scooter also. Only in 7 months it has been broken in several places.

Depends on brand
I think what EV needs right now (when long range batteries are still in development) is swappable battery as they won't take much time at charging/swappable station. only concern I've is, how they'll keep it cool in vehicle.
ps: they should keep pricing under 1lacs.
Electric scooter are already notorious for being costlier machines, especially those that are well made by big brands. Besides, even petrol Vespa, Honda or Suzuki scooters with 150 are costing around1.7 to 2 lakhs currently on road. I feel that for the features this scooter offers, under 1 lakh ex-showroom is not reasonable.
We accept high price tags for other vehicles made elsewhere and we should accept the same for those we have here that are well made. How do we improve our local market and the quality of our products when we are only ready to invest in foreign products? I agree that over 2 lakhs for scooter calls for a cringe but that’s how it is nowadays…unfortunately.

Central government gives you subsidy of 35k to 40k depending on your model and in some States too.

Boss security is major issue in India, hum parking me khade kar ke is scooty ko chod de to iska Jo tablet size display always childerns or theves ko attract karega wo use manipulate karne ki 100% kosis karege, ev companies should consider this issue kyuki display cars ke andar to safe lagte hai par bahar safe nahi koi patthar bhi mar sakta hai.

My friend Sold Tata Nexon EV as in Lonavala it doesn't give the proper range company claimed 300+ but actual it delivered 120/140 finally sold at 10 lakh now he purchased Nexon Diesel
From the first impression i can clearly see that the touch screen is bigger than most 15L budget cars.
Happy to see that Hero completely ditched their ICE chassis and body panels for the making of Vida.

I am resident of Himachal pradesh and I have a vision to totally go electric. I want to install a solar power grid on my rooftop with batteries and warranty on both panels and battery of 5-8 years. I wish to buy tata evs and one elctric scootor. If everything went well my vechiles will be running for almost free. And evs don't require maintenance also. And if govt make it mandatory to install charging points at every petrol pump then we don't have to worry about long run also
You need to calculate the capital cost on both EV and solar panels.. the investment on these 2 fronts actually eats into the interest you could have earned... Try to calculate the interest you lose every month and compare the same to a petrol vehicle cost with lower capital investment... It almost comes ok it to be same with slight advantage to EVs due to less pollution and fuel inflation risk.
Most people dont even need many funky features .... Just give me a basic display with speed, ado metre and battary charge and am happy.. Its a scooter it doesn't have to be another gadget, we already have a smart phone 4 that.
I believe in hero. Best option in two wheeler electric. Resale value is good
for 1.4L cost those seat quality and sturdy . LOL. My 2005 pulsar has has given far better seat just for 60K.
And the way review of seat got skipped to battery is heights.
Those designers are really great. They know how to cut cost and yet to charge premium.
I saw a ola electric vehicles fell aside because a car was doing reverse with very low speed. It was very slow hit. But the break handle got broken by half. almost one side of the body got scratched.
The quality was clearly visible.
51.4 volt battery 33 ah disappointing should have at least been 60v or 72 volt system voltage. Price also too high. What is the charger rating.

It will be good if they install an AC or refrigerator in the bike...cool batteries and cold drinks too ....

should have shown the boot .can a helmet be placed or not. scooter looks good and I personally feel they should have provided a front boot like what Vespa and chetak gives in the front to keep charger,rain coat tools and some documents.
What in case of protecting screen in heavy rains ???
Ye sabhi ev ka problem hai...also agar scooter open space main khadi hogi aur bachee khel rahe honge to display damage hone ka chance bhi hai..iska solution nikalana hoga ...ya to display ke liye protective cover hona chahiye...

इस प्राइस रेंज मे तो महंगा प्रतीत होता है लेकिन आप ज़ब टेस्ट मोड़ मे इसका रिव्यु देंगे तो ज्यादा अच्छे से पता चल पायेगा प्राइस का।
Main stand pe isliye allowed hai service ke time testing wagereh ke liye. Vaise ek safety feature toggle hona chaiye "service mode" karke jisko on karo tab allow karega stand pe chalana.

प्राइस तो सचमुच बहुत ज्यादा है। दो चीजें मुझे जानना है। एक तो यह कि यह इलेक्ट्रिक स्कूटी कितना सुरक्षित है। कहीं यह चलते चलते आग तो नहीं पकड़ लेगी जैसा कि कई बैटरी वाले स्कूटी के साथ हो चुका है। दूसरे देखने में ही इसके प्लास्टिक की क़्वालिटी अच्छी नहीं लग रही है। क्या इसके प्लास्टिक की क़्वालिटी अच्छी है? हो सके तो बताईयेगा🙏।

The batteries are not swappable... multiple charging options are there but not swappable...and rear tyre width is 100mm, not 90
better option will be if they offer swappable battery on rent per kilometer basis...this will cut down the scooter price and create a sustainable business model like petrol

Very good explanation always, on this price Hero MotorCorp Electric should have added, hazard warning in case battery getting overheat or malfunctioning to avoid incidents (Exploding/Catching fire), battery low level reminder setting, overload alert according to weight limitation for better longer run, App connected features like nearby charging station etc....

Non of the reviews are mention wether vida has HILL-HOLD feature. Why?
Seat is clumsy and boot space is not there.

स्टेट सब्सिडी 10k से ज्यादा नही होगी कही भी जब कि इसकी प्राइस एक्स शोरूम बताई है Rto इंश्योरेंस आदि के भी लगभग 15k लगेंगे मतलब ऑन रोड़ बहुत ज्यादा महंगा पड़ेगा भाई राजस्थान में तो स्टेट सब्सिडी आने में भी 3 से 4 महीने लग जाते है

And ola is going international level like in Nepal they are going to sell ev next month and Ather which is 4-5 years old brand still in lowest peak compared to ola or any ev! Infact I would suggest you hero electric instead of ather or buy ola or benling. Ather is not value for money not even have such valuable features.
