I hope that investigators or people who don't identify themselves with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints understand that we as a church believe that any individual who lived and died during any apostasy will be rewarded and punished according to their actions under God's law. We know that the people who existed during those times were trying their best with what they had, and most likely never had any intentions of "leading men astray". We believe that people who truly seek to find Christ both past, present, and future, will eventually find Him; and be rewarded for their actions and the intentions of their hearts. Interesting video. Looking for clarification. When I read Matthew-John, I understand that "the gospel" is that Jesus is Lord. That's the good news. You mention that all of these OT characters had the fullness of the gospel. How could that be? In my understanding, Jesus makes things brand new, like never before, not like anything in the OT.
Mr. Riley Dueck Matthew 5:17 “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” He didn’t change the knowledge already on the earth, but He fulfilled it and restrengthened parts that had already begun to be corrupted. We all try our best, but without help from our Lord we accidentally corrupt things! The Jews in 1-4 B.C. were no different, parts of the gospel were accidentally changed. Does that help?
I think by that we probably just meant that those people had everything they needed to 'be saved.' They had knowledge of their Savior (even though He hadn't come yet), they practiced repentance, etc. Of course being subject to the Law of Moses was different, but I think they had the ingredients of salvation. Is that sort of what you're asking? Maybe point me to the time code where we say that so I can get some more context.
Mr. Riley Dueck..... You are 💯% correct in Your thought! 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 King James Version (KJV) 15 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: CHRIST IS THE GOSPEL. Let no man deceive You.
Slight correction, it wasn't the maccabean family. Judah haMaccabe was one of the sons of the leader of the revolt but the actual family was the Hasmonean family.
So technically between the first 2 major dispensations the authority was still there because Adam lived at the same time as Enoch. Adam died when Noah's Father was 56 years old when Adam was 930 years old.
It varies. Which is true of the Roman Catholic Church as well, I went to a Catholic School were the nuns were quite insistent on the literalness of the Bible.
This should NOT be called the History of Everything, rather the History of known dispensations. A history of everything would include premortal existence, second coming and beyond. May I suggest you guys make a video about the latter.
Thanks for the feedback, Carlos. Videos about post-mortality would be awesome. In fact, I'm sure we've got some on our channel somewhere ... maybe search for it and see what you come up with.
Perhaps you are missing a large part of everything. My careful reading of the Bible over the years leads me to believe that the created men and women of the 6th day predate Adam and caused the Earth to be populated with men and women prior to Adams arrival in Genesis 2. Genesis 2:3-4 indicates a very large passage of time, this appears to me as the 7th day. And then, on the 8th day, Genesis 2:7-8, God did not create Adam but rather formed him out of the dust, and breathed into him His Spirit. So my idea is that Adam did not represent the first man, but the first hu-man. As human is used after that in the text. And hu- is the sound of breath, the breath of God, in Hebrew the Ruach Hakodesh. And, to me, this makes perfect sense as Cain was afraid of others outside of the Garden and did find a wife there. And this ties together both the Biblical time line and evolutionary time, as the great passage of time on that 7th day allowed the earth and its inhabitants to mature to the stage where the Spirit of God could truly be given to a new creation that is Adam. And just as the Industrial Revolution began in 1830 along with the Book of Mormon, widespread agricultural progress began about the Biblical time of Adam, and there is evidence of even much greater progress before the flood that was wiped out by the flood. In carefully watching the presentation in the Temple, I don't believe that the ideas here conflict at all with the teachings of the Lord's true Church, as the day count there ends on the 6th day.
I really wish these young bright kiddos would dedicate their time and incredible talents of memory to...i dunno events that actually happened. the video is really cool. Thanks mate. I really appreciate you sharing this video. Being raised a Mormon i was ignorantly thinking that only Mormons believed in dispensations. And then one day I wanted to do some research on the depth of the eschatological timeline and the dispensations but I couldn't find what I needed in the LDS libraries and then one day I stumbled onto this guy a Baptist theologian who taught the idea called rightly dividing dispensations. The idea that rightly dividing history must run into cycles of 490 years, which is called the mercy periods 70 times 7 = 490. I will forgive them 490 years and then God comes and chastises his people to repent and start a restoration of the gospel again. This sequence of biblical historical events is perfectly enlaced on the eschatological timeline of rightly divided 490 years. I learned so much from this study of the dispensation video. He talks about the apostasy and the restoration and this teaching was taught by the Christians before Joseph Smith was born.
