*NOTICE:* If the model crashes when you open it, it means that you have to download the most recent anim8or version. Which is currently: 1.01.1403. Also, if the eye texture on the model isnt loading, then you'll have to manually load it back into the diffuse texture in the material.

I downloaded the latest version of anim8or on my pc and ran it I was loading the baldi model and it said “error in reading file.” So what do I do if that happens?

I really like this kind of oldschool software. I've been trying to use Anim8or for a long time now. I think I tried modeling "1st Prize" way back in 2018, the model was awful... but come on, I couldn't do as much before. Interesting thing is that you can even get development builds of Anim8or. The latest one at the time of writing (4.4.2024) is the build *1.01.1403* .

Bro, I wish I had this when I first started using anim8or. Silly me just morphed Baldi's mouth open in object mode and tried to animate him frame by frame. Thanks for this tutorial!

Thank you so much when I first watched this a while ago when I was still new to anim8or when i was trying to animate baldi I couldn’t figure it out but you made this video and it helped very much thank you for this

tbh I figured out how to use anim8or in like around 10 minutes, while I have zero idea on what to do with blender.
blender takes me 65 years to learn
anim8or takes 5 minutes
I've been using anim8or for 2 years, and it's just soo much easier to learn that blender (except for some glitches), and it also is the original program that baldi was made in.
Honestly, I do agree. I do still use Anim8or, but I've been using Blender more. Blender does look difficult, but animating it for me was easy. It's also what PghLFilm's uses for his Baldi animations, and that's why they can do a lot of stuff in it.

Oh, I was wondering why my comments weren't loading! Well, I was having a problem yesterday, but quickly realized that I was clicking on the wrong button, lol!
I already made my first animation! For learning how to animate a Baldi, It's pretty good, imo! But it's shorter than the animation that I uploaded, which is the second one I ever made!
The one I uploaded (second animation) is kind of like the farm animation you made, but since I haven't found any farm animations yet, I decided to create my own, and I just found yours recently lol
is the 2017 version latest? I tried that but its still crashing :(.

Hey sorry for asking again but the open mouth doesn't work, can you tell me how did you got that explorer, i tried everything opening the mouth and clicking on it and the explorer doesn't comes.
Go to object mode, Top bar, Build, Morph Targets, Open Mouth. Go to scene mode now, and do what I did in the tutorial.
well i did it as you said but when i clicked on the Scene01 nothing happened, instead everything was lighten Up, and the version of the model is V8 and the Anim8or is 1.01.1043

Im having issues with every texture getting an error message, then baldi pops up without pupils. How can this be fixed?

why is the farming baldi and camping baldi inside the normal baldi? and why doesnt baldi have pupils?
what i did, is opened the eye texture in the file explorer, then open the model again.
hey there, when i try to open it it will crash, and i downloaded the Latest version at the Offficial Sight, it said download the Latest version by clicking that Animv100, it still crashes.
I forgot to mention, but just search anim8or version 1.01.1403 on Google and it should come up with a developer site. Dont worry, it is the official development build.

For some reason every time I try and pose baldi it does not work instead it just load another baldi and moves that one also everytime I view the camera he is so large
how to make open mouth:
first click on the + in scene01(or other names) then find the name of your morph target, then double-click the name, and then you should see the context menu, then, click on add key and press ok, then press on whatever frame you choose in the morph name, then double-click it, then, press add key, set value to 1, then press ok, then you're done!

Do you know how to give it the pixelated look the game has?
For that, you export it with a lower resolution, and in a seperate program, use the "dither tool". A lot of art programs do support dithering, including gimp.
anim8or crashed upon opening the model. how do i fix this?
edit: i reinstalled and it STILL CRASHES
edit 2: so the 8.0 model was the problem. the version before it worked perfectly fine

So you have to choose an expression, and double click on it. A menu will pop up. Click add keyframe and then you can set the value to whatever.

you should double click baldis eyes then click the 4 circles on the top of the screen and there will be colored balls on the screen scroll down until you see eyes, then click on diffuse, press load textures and find a file named .eyebal.PNG then press ok

one feedback: my anim8or crashes when i open it. (i use version 8 of the model and when i open the ".an8" file, anim8or crashes.)

@@AaronIvanovAnims same thing happened. (the version may not be able to handle how much bytes it is because i use windows 10 as my os but when i open it that little thing happens.)
edit: i just thought, the version i was downloading was 1.01.1403 by the normal website, but it was in the anim8or community, im so dumb

When you save the render, where does it go in your files? I can’t find it when I save it
If you have already exported it and can't find it, make a test scene, click render animation, and see where the file location for where gets exported is. If you still have problems, I will surely give you a more detailed explanation.

Is there a way to add audio for lip sync and if not how do you do it?
Yes, there is an anim8or forum and discord for asking questions, but I will tell. So grab your sound an import into Audacity (a program) and export as a .wav file. In anim8or, scene mode, go to build, add sound, and import the sound. Hope this helps

Are you sure you opened the Baldi model after loading Anim8or?

what are the best settings for exporting an animation?
Save as .avi format -- Format of the video
Video size: 1920px by 1080px -- Video resolution
Antialiased (it's slow, but it works) -- Makes the frames look smoother, soft edges.
Depth Channel as: Z near: 50, Z far: 1e+05 -- Shows how close and far things are rendered from.

try loading the texture with a photo editing program, then close it. If that doesn't work, you will have to load it in manually in the materials of the object.

Hello, can you tell or make a video on how to Render Movie because i couldnt get it working for whatever reason
Okay so i could get it to work but now it seems there is a bug where after you finished rendering once, you arent able to render anymore.
The only solution ive found is to reopened Anim8or.

It's an old program, so you'll have to export it as an .avi, or .png squence, then convert it to an mp4.

select scene, then you select world, select the figure your using, then scroll until you see alot of face expressions, then you select one, do a value like 1 or something, boom you have it

how do i move the camera
in any mode (object, figure, sequence, or scene) select the eye icon on the left near the top, under where it says mode. Then left click to move the camera. To rotate the camera, under the tools tab, select the rotate icon and hold left click again. To go back to the regular mode, click the cursor icon next to the eye. Hope this helps

In object mode, there should be numbers at the top of the screen. Click one and it should turn orange. In scene mode, there should be the ruler
