Haha! I remember getting our Jerrold Commander converter around 79-80 and discovering Channel 29. It did seem a bit more "SCTV" than the rest of the independent channels in the southern Ontario market at the time.
This 29 kind of reminds me of Philly's channel 29, which, ironically, also became Fox 29, only difference being that the Philly station became an O&O of Fox.
