  • Welcome to Training Tuesday for August 15, 2023. This week the training sessions and video were actually done on Training Tuesday, at about 0200/2am US MT (Denver). Why? I was working out in one of our other buildings putting enclosure together and decided to feed two of our very special snakes housed out there: our Savu Python and our Rough Scaled Python. I also tried something new while filming and you will get to see the snakes and training sessions from unique camera angles which create interesting vantage points for you. At the end I show you the enclosure I had just put together as well as two like it all ready to go!
Sangraal, Morelia carinata (Rough Scaled Python) was produced by Ralph Polinski
Archer, Liasis savuensis (Savu Python) was produced by Terry Burwell
The enclosures are from Black Box Cages, ‪@blackboxcages‬

Great to catch your releases, as always. You embody "be kind and love your animals" and it is always always so refreshing. Thank you!

So happy I found this channel. More reptile keepers need to be made aware of this wealth of knowledge. You go girl

Another wonderful video! To be fair every snake from the genus Liasis I've ever met has been very inquisitive and curious like Archer; I wouldn't be surprised if most of the genus had strong cognitive skills!

So far, I am thinking the same thing.

I wonder if more terrestrial snakes would use those sky hides. My rosy boa is very active and climbs on her tension rods I put in there a ton.

Recently subbed, I really love the way you put together your enclosures! It looks so tidy and easy to clean and move around. I'm trying to kit my baby up with some nice things like yours, do you have any favourite sites and shops you buy from (besides Black Box)? You can probably tell from my picture that my little one is a corn snake (though he's VERY large now, despite being so young hehe)
Looking forward to your next upload!

Thanks for the Blackbox tour. I am looking at them for my upgrade for my last royal. Is the screen top really sturdy enough to hold the netting and sky hides for something like a royal? I wonder if you could zip tie to the screen and then set the routed top over it?

Do you need a screen top? They don’t automatically come that way, you would need to request a screen top. They’re standard model is solid PVC all around with front opening doors.

@@LoriTorrini the versatility is appealing but likely no I don’t need it this way. Maybe initially until I get an RHP installed.

How would the head scales of Python anchietae be described?

Do you mean how are they classified by the IUCN?

@@LoriTorrini in terms of 'rough'' 'beaded' etc i was falsely under the impression it was rough scaled
