Much love, your Amandeuce
I like the fact those seats don't recline very well. Frankly, its a massive problem for the people behind you who barely have any space as it is.
HDaviator agreed I was just on a American Boeing 737-800 and the guy in front of me smelt awful, he reclined his seat all the back, I had a ginger ale in my cup holder on the tray table and the entertainment screen was resting on my drink, it pissed me off and I did not finish the drink bc you know how nasty those seats are, I also don’t even know if I still had an appetite from the smell of this guy even CLOSER to me.😂 It’s almost like everyone has to recline their seat to conserve everyone’s space evenly which is bull!
what a wonderful surprise Amandeuce !!!! Thank You for posting and your positive comments about my crew!!! Safe travels out there!
Gwendolyn Peev it was mostly negative tho...
@@dogaviation430 Amanduece said great crew! As Purser this is what I have some control over. The negative things are way above my pay grade. The pictures were also beautiful. The flight landed safely and early. All the passengers deplaned with smiles and thanked us for a wonderful flight. So I guess it's how you choose to look at things. Safe travels to you!
Is it just me or did the pilot say “Ok peasants” at 1:45
HAHAHAHA Certainly sounds like he did.
oh my god I've replayed this about 10 times and I'm convinced they did🤣🤣
LOL... Read the comment before watching the video. Didn't think much about it (the comment). Then watched the video and heard the pilot and cracked up so hard... I don't know if you put that in my head or whether I would have heard that, had I not read your comment, but as it stands it sure does sound like that's what he said.
LMAO, Yesss
Sounds like the flight attendant since he mentions the name of the flight deck...but he sure did say peasants. Ballsy! Lol 😂
1:45 Sounds like “Okay Peasants” 😂
Apart from the 3-4-3 layout I can't really see anything negative
The food looked perfectly fine and the breakfast was beyond average
Legroom looks more generous than on some other non-lcc flights I had recently
Not getting your legs crushed by people in front of you that recline their seat to the max sounds more like an advantage to me
Was that lasagna or pizza looked ok, M maybe it's time for dinner here. 😍
Thank you for the video!
Love the air to airshow shot with San Fran in the background....4:19
People who call SF “San Fran” have probably never been there. They no idea how much locals there hate when it’s called that.
The food looked ok for Economy. If you ever fly Scoot you'll know what bad LCC food is. Great video. 👍✈️
Had the Hainanese Chicken Rice on Scoot, thought that for the money Scoot offered good value.
@@hobsonp67 That sounds better than the vegetarian dish I had that was just made of purely tinned vegetables , nothing fresh in it at all.
United economy food isn’t bad. Flew to London from DC about a year ago, they had some sort of lasagna. Reminded me of a TV dinner, nowhere near a five star meal but perfectly edible. We got the same orange sorbet he got in the video too.
Scoot 787s have no TVs ptvs
Not sure about taste in this case but presentation of the food could be better. Flew United from Newark to Paris and dinner was below average.
The aircraft & pilots did their job , and got you there safely. BTW United has announced a new livery coming in April 2019 , according to United's CEO Oscar Munoz.
Awesome video man liked
GREAT video!~ that rush hour looked so familiar as when I was in Los Angeles, we were in a line-up such as that ... I choose the left seat was completely reclined lol ... cheers to you until the next video :)
I took UA 908 and 909 from ORD to AMS and back a couple weeks ago in a freshly refurbished 767. Amazing legroom in economy class and great IFE. Food was perfectly adequate.
I live in Berlin and can choose between United or Delta to fly to the US. I’m glad I flew Delta to JFK last year, I had such a good experience in main cabin! Nice and proper food, friendly service, hot towels, as many drinks and snacks as you like and a very good inflight system. Yes it was a cramped seat too, so next time I propably pay for the upgrade to comfort. But all in all, a smooth experience. United looks like they pay less attention to details compared to Delta long haul, but I should fly United once to really compare.
Hot towel in eco?
Great video excellent review of United service.I always liked the 777 but those seats were just too cramped for that long trip. Thanks for doing this video.
Superb video Loris!
That part where you sped up the video as you were flying into the night combined with the music was really cool. High quality editing
Good one!
Oohh I do love those sunset views at around 06:20. :)
I quite liked the 3-4-3 layout on the Cathay Pacific 777's, the 3 wide seats were a tad claustrophobic but the central section was roomy and comfortable with lots of leg room. We flew from London to Auckland and back via Hong Kong.
I love the review. You always do goodones
My high school German teacher taught us the first day, "If you live in Frankfurt, you are a Frankfurter! Und if you live in Hamburg, you are a Hamburger" Still can't wait to live in both places.
Amazing that you were able to teleport in and out of the plane for those fantastic takeoff shots!!
Great aircraft - nice vlog.
Usually on longer haul routes the airlines like to use fabric seats since it’s less harsh on the passengers over long distances. Not United. But they should. Also those GE90 starts are really loud, but pretty incredible.
Did a 9 hour flight from Birmingham (UK) to Barbados on a Boeing 787 Dreamliner. seating configuration 2-3-2. Massive leg room on ALL seats, they were wide, you could recline them a good distance, and they were super comfortable. a superb IFE system, the 787's unique "mood lighting" great meals. It was a fantastic start to our honeymoon. Economy class or not, you shouldn't be crammed together on any long haul flight, it just ain't comfortable. UK Airline TUI (Thompsons as were)
I'm getting deep vein thrombosis just looking at those seats..
Fuck off furry
I don't like flying with United. Their First class domestic seating (which I flew last year) isn't much better than Economy/Coach. And the flight attendants gave horrible service and didn't have a great attitude.
you were super lucky to have an empty seat next to you on a sardine plane, lovely video!
He has a secret trick, because somehow he manages to have an empty seat next to him on every other flight or so
I love your channel!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! Good vídeo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t worry, at least you weren’t on their domestic configuration.
Jayden Aviation That configuration is actually the configuration of the domestic configuration on a long haul flight. The domestic 777s used to be a 2-5-2 in economy. And now the domestic configuration in economy is 3-4-3. But the old ones in International flights are 3-3-3. Even in prem. economy. United just wants to make more money by cramming people in those suffering dirty seats 💺
That was very nice.....I love flying out of the west coast..Many of us who take off have to circle back around over the ocean to start flying east bound with the wind pushing us...That is nice...The 777-200s and 700-300s are great aircraft... Yes, the GE engines are nice and so are the Rolls Royce engines as well.....Next time you fly international trip see if you an get
Blame Emirates
They started the 3 4 3 configuration for economy.
But, Emirates has the best IFE and inflight amenities, including great food!
Nah fuck off Emirates is bae
Nick true
Art Man doesn’t have to do anything with what he was talking about
@@artman7780
I can understand you about the food. But once you flight Aeroflot Emirates food becomes mediocre and overrated.
I flew from dulles to honolulu non stop those seats were amazing leg room was awesome food was awesome their new product is amazing i loved it
I've flown long hall on United 777 a few times before, I found my experience much better. the food was one of the better airline foods I've had and the IFE system didn't crash. though the one major thing I noticed on the flight was the cabin crew didn't smile very often and seemed like they didn't really care about their job.
Thank God my long haul flying days are over. After almost 30+ years of globe hoppin from a "riff-raff" class seats (an occasional bump into J was a very rare perk), well no more, most of my travelin will be in my Jeep around the backroads of Texas going forward.
I love the title SARDINE CAN......exactly feel like it. :)
I flew the 777-300ER with United from SFO to LHR and had a window seat down the back in economy where the layout is 2-4-2. It was a great flight.
At least you didnt get dragged off
Luke Askeland Yeah, United is infamous for that
That’s one reason why I hate it
He's not a visible minority though. United doesn't drag off white people
Hopefully, when one of us is fortunate enough to have the experience of being dragged off the plane all bloody and bruised, we'll be able to vlog the entire experience and post it on RUclips 😉
I'll stop now
Shenanigans! You spend the first 4 minutes with the beauty of the departure and then clip together to fill the rest. This should have never been labelled sardine can. 777 rocks.
Very nice👍👍
ENDLESS complaining and whining. You’re seeing the world, which is something most people will never have the opportunity to experience. Just enjoy the flight on an awesome 777 and appreciate that you even can. I do.
Amen.
Those are terrible seat configurations and material for a long haul flight. In fact in some countries it's illegal.
And what the heck does terrible service have to do with seeing the world? You do realize that you can do that, on a 777, for the same price, without abusive seating, don't you? Do you work for United or something?
Can't wait for the B 777X-9 in British Airways Livery. But the BOAC livery is better. You can see it on G-BYGC.
I laughed when he was complaining about the “boring meal”. It’s airplane food, what do you expect?
BJ McKay so rich people in first and business class don’t fart? They don’t have any assholes? Only the peasants fart in economy class? It’s approximately 300-400 people in one big metal tube. Farting will happen regardless of what they wear or what class they’re in.
I believe if you survive a United flight you can come away with the confidence that you can overcome any hardship for the rest of your life😊
Daniel Kim So does this mean I should give Delta another shot if I want to travel overseas?
I've done 16 hours from Chicago to Hong Kong and back with United. Does that count? 😁
Thanks but no thanks
lol omg Sardine Can I’m dying of laughter at that title 😂😂
doesnt matter how bad the service or food is, I will continue to take them due to their superior international network to Asia compared to Delta and AA and superior alliance (EVA, SQ, ANA). If you fly to Asia regularly star alliance is hard to beat
Hahaha, that title, love it! At least you were not beaten out of the plane ;-). Just kidding, but actually the cabin doesn’t look that bad. The food is hard to identify though.
@@sc6 Worst ever? That would mean that in the entire history of the 777 there has never been a worse cabin, which seems highly unlikely.
R Ξ Z I I how is the cabin bad its like most other airlines with the 3-4-3 and it looks nice
There is none.
All 777s in this 3x4x3 configuration feel like sardine cans. I recently flew on Swiss and it was dreadful, even the toilettes are minimal, you can barely turn around inside them.
you're right I didnt enjoy my flight with Swiss either.
「ДDЮММУ」 Right? 😂
@@Racko. Yeah son 😆
@@ad0mmy1 Not bad at all, I Could only remember my days I Visited for about 2-3 Weeks because I Only go to Montreal or Quebec lol
@@Racko. Thats intresting tho bud
How did you get that second POV on takeoff?
After flying domestically many times I can say that the 777, 787 are certainly welcome in terms of space. Granite I'm not an overly tall individual; the head room is much greater and having wider aisles is nice. Sure flying can be a good or bad experience its all what you make of it. I feel pretty lucky considering people a hundred had to travel via train and boats which took much longer to get to the same place.
You exaggerate things way too much. That meal, for example, looks perfectly fine
What software do you use for Globe Flight plan graphics?
Sorry for the tight flight. United is just not good.
I was like oh great another United bashing video .... but you actually had a pleasant experience on your flight . Imagine that .
AMANDEUCE SATURDY BABEEE
KInda obsessed with this video... Really captured the SFO vibe, great music, skillful edit.... 3 additional random comments...
1) Amandeuce face reflection with stache at :54 (early preview B4 face reveal @ 100K subscribed)
2) Love the purser's announcements... "nonstop to wonnna my favourite places... Frankfurt"
3) You know you've watched too many aviation RUclips videos when you recognize the Male F/A "Eddie" at 4:39 from another youtuber's video "FLIGHT ATTENDANTS LAYOVER IN HONOLULU, HAWAII " by KamanGround @ 2:52
Believe I've got you beat. Three weeks ago, OLD Air China 777 LAX to PEK, 12 hours - and even more cramped due to a large silver box in every footwell that had something to do with the archaic IFE. Also, no internet -even for purchase!
Air France has 3-4-3 too, so does KLM. You want cheap tickets? The cabins are getting tighter. I personally don't have a problem with it, although of course I prefer a 2 seat config at the window, like the 767 or A330/340 offer. Nevertheless, legroom looked good, and the cabin seemed nice and modern. I would fly with them.
I like the description video lol nice report.
Looks ok to me.
Best airline for long haul flight for food to me it's Air Austral.
You paid for economy you got economy. If you want something better you have to pay for it just like anything else. The truth is 90% of the time passengers in economy based on price and secondary schedule. People complain but they keep buying the tickets
...or you can pay a boatload of money to fly "nice" economy with SQ or CX.
cnordegren even CX has reconfigured their 777 to 3-4-3
Not really. There are some routes that united has monopoly over where they charge pretty high fares in economy. Now, nobody expects to get business class in economy but the 17 inch width is truly unacceptable for such long flights. In seats with little legroom it can be regarded as a health hazard. The 90s had perfectly reasonably priced and decently sized economy seats, no reason (except shareholder greed) today should be any different.
Tom So unacceptable it was the standard on the 747 too that everyone complains about missing. People like to complain but it keeps buying the tickets
John Iii
So true! This is the reality.
I propose you make a flight review of french bee or air caraibes in the A350 10 abreast. In comparison the 10 abrest 777 must really be comfortable :D
Thanks for a nice report Amandeuce. Well done.
In last seven months i managed to test all three main US airlines. DL on LHR-MSP, AA on LHR-JFK and UA on LAX LHR.
DL is the leader of the pack. AA is average. UA is close to bad. Limited onboard service even compared to DL. Food quality, food box sizes and frequency of FA's runs down the aisles noticeble lower.
We are the clients and we can only vote by buying tickets.
That wing flex 😍
The 10 across 777 seats look TIGHT. Similar width to 737's and regional jets, but at least the limited range of those planes limits the misery. United is using the 77W on some of their longest routes, some of which can be over 12 hours.
I did the EWR to HKG 16 hour run in the 777-200, it was ok but starts to feel really cramped after hour 10 lol!
I had an emergency trip from Hong Kong to San Francisco and flew United. It was economy seating, but it wasn't bad, and I'm not a small man. As a matter of fact, I changed seats with a father and son who needed more space together and their space seemed to be tighter but it was still acceptable.
Hi Amandeuce,
Once again a great video, really enjoyed it! Looks like you had an alright flight with UA, good thing you lucked out with the empty seat next to you!
The food presentation looks very poor and small in quantity to be honest. Hope it tasted better than it looks!
Those views of downtown SF and the Air show are amazing, so beautiful!
Brendan
Thanks for posting this video. The f**ked up IFE would really suck. I flew on a UAL 777-300ER in economy from SFO to Taipei on New Years Day. 14 hours...oh, yeah...so much fun. Honestly, the seat wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The food was edible, no issues with IFE, flight crew were quite nice. The 777 has the BEST engine spool up sound ever!!! The 777 is pretty noisy in flight...I'd guess the new 777X will be quieter. Anyway, overall not bad...how fun is 9-14hrs in a pressurized metal tube going to be? I got a great price on the RT ticket.
My return flight I did ANA to Tokyo on a 787-8...so much quieter, better food. Then another UAL Tokyo-SFO 777-300ER...same experience, 9 hrs this time.
They had these new infotainment screens on the 767 I flew to London on, but on the way back that 777 had the old smaller ones. The nice thing is the give you free beer and wine, I flew American a few years ago and there was a charge for booze.
First up, a big shout of gratitude for NOT using those generic "chipmonk" inspired pieces of music as the background score
I literally felt like I was there!
I would take bad food any day to go First Class. No way I can physically sit up in such seat configurations with my diagnoses on such a long flight. Heck I can’t even stay seated for that long. I’d have to stretch out so I’m hearing my pocketbook groan if I ever do go lol. Thanks for the lovely video!
Your absolutely right They need to remove 7 rows and readjust the seats to recline from 12 degrees to 36 degrees
Idk why, but seems like a lot of people comments are hatred towards the US carriers. As a flight attendant from another country, it is a dream for many flight attendants to work for the major US carriers because of their pay rates and especially benefits. I'm so glad i made the right move from ANA to Continental, now im currently working for Delta.
At least you had an IFE. I was on a 777-200 in United Econ, and no IFE or meals on a 10 hour flight! Plus, service was bad and the seats were hard. United needs to step up their game, and fast.
I flew their 777-300 to London last year from Houston in premium economy. And absolutely perfect flight and perfect service. Yes it was not at a bargain hunter price but I had no interest in sitting next to screaming kids and whining adults for 7 hours. They closed the curtain and the flight was truly enjoyable.
I was a loyal member of Mileage Plus for more than 10 years. Had some great flights(many of them free with miles and got to upgrade to Business with miles several times as well). But those days are over. Over 70,000 miles were zapped from my account because of Inactivity. This was because there are better options. My last flight on United was on a new B737-900 from Orlando to LAX. The plane was new and it was tight, The bathroom was the size of a large suitcase and the cabin service was just awful(everything was for a fee). Many other options to any destination.
I am going on a United 777 for 16 hours from Mumbai to Newark!!
From the title I was expecting freezing snow, a heart attack, paramedics, mounties, a few Newfie jokes in general, an open door, and one close to retirement age, sweaty, aircraft maintenance dude
The Economy Class cabin onboard United seems like a nightmareee 😲 The legroom looks pretty bad
At least the onboard meal seems alright (apart from the second meal) :)
Isaacflyaway
Pay less - get less. Pay more - get more.
So does this mean I should give Delta another shot if I want to travel overseas?
Can I ask how you enjoyed the crew? I found FAs of US airlines particularly numb to needs of customers.
Ah, the world famous United sardine can. I've been on many (transpacific and transatlantic flights). All in economy. I can't get myself to pay mega-dollars for a business class seat, so I grin and bear it for 10 - 16 hours until the torture ends. I did get lucky once flying a United sardine can to Amsterdam. I had all three window seats to myself (in economy minus). I was able to get some sleep, while the economy plus seats in front of me were packed to the rafters.
I have taken the same flight both on Lufthansa and United. The most ridiculous thing is not the airline, it is that we have a bus gate upon arrival at FRA! After a long haul flight I shouldn't have to take a 20 minute bus ride to the terminal!
So how was the flight? I am going to Frankfurt in the summer, before heading to Zurich on a tour of Switzerland.
No us carrier beats delta right now
lewis key Flew AA from Frankfurt to Philadelphia and I had a superb flight! On Delta you must have luck to fly on the newer aircrafts since their 767 are super old.
I am actually a big fan of Delta's 767 fleet. The 232 configuration is not cramped and friendly to those like me who always fly on window seats. Also, you get free upgrades to C+ which is pretty nice.
That’s a weird way of spelling Jet Blue
@@connorhale727 😂😂😂
That's an extremely low bar, though
Good video, but hey no middle seat occupant...that's like winning the economy lottery! And maybe I'm crazy, but I don't mind the bus gate. I'm an AV geek at heart and like to see what else in on the ramp, usually how I arrive into Beijing aboard Hainan. I will say, the US airlines are far behind the internationals for economy class comfort - EVA, Hainan, FinnAir, Singapore, all exceeded every US carrier for cattle class.
More like Wall Street, US carriers have more competition than many other national markets, US customers have different expectations, you could be trailer trash and still fly several times a year. Which is unlikely in Asia, even with LCC. Just ask your the social class of people trying to bring their exotic personal pet iguanas on to planes as emotional support animals and see if that shit would ever work in Asia. Passengers would refuse to sit next to someone with their emotional support iguana. You can expect the same when the market is completely different. The rich in America flew NetJets or Citation, not first class. Some jet shares can be as low as $30,000 a year.
Super dense configuration is REGULAR ECONOMY CONFIGURATION in each plane exept for some emirates's a380 that are 3-5-3 economy seats.
I did LAX-SIN on the 787 in Econ isle seat. The guy next to me never got up the whole flight
Must be the leg room seat idk what UA is like but I did 13.5hrs in a NZ B772 AKL-YVR 3-4-3 in economy and i was very comfortable
Lol love the title
Does United operate the B77W on any domestic routes?
That second meal looked like cat hairballs :) Did it taste good? :)
Ah must have been Fleet Week, if it was in 2018, I was there that Sunday!
I travelled with their 767-300er two years ago, Athens to New York (EWR). Obviously not comfortable seats for 13 hour flight...
Yeah. Took a delta flight to Tokyo from LA back in '16. They are sardine cans. How such huge planes can be made to feel small: the other wonder of flight.
just so you know 8:58 you spelled youtube wrong but other than that great video
Great departure vision but would rather go the Bali than fly United!! Lucky you had no one next to you! They are really a dreadful airline and if you look at Skytrax website there is rarely a good comment about them. Glad you made it in one piece!
OUCH! Just 3" of recline in United's B77W economy esp on a very long flight like HKG to SFO! Now United's gonna use that on HKG-EWR. No way I'll ever find myself on this plane.
United air loves to butter the landing damn!!!
Twice a year, I do a trip from Toronto to China. 15 hours in a 777 sardine can. Such a long haul.
what a sad day to live in... not too long ago most 777's were 9 abreast and super comfortable :(
ANA’s 777-300er’s in layout 1&2 feature the industry exclusive 2-4-3 layout. 9 a breast, with a seat pattern for everyone.
Yes, I love ANA
lol, breast.
most are...
Flown it between SFO&HKG and it’s pretty good for a 14+ hr economy flight. I flew a few long haul economy flights on the -200 though (Munich-Dulles, Shanghai-SFO...) and boy is that plane shit. I’ll stick to Singapore Business for my trans pacific flights from now on
So does this mean I should give Delta another shot if I want to travel overseas?
We did 13 hours in the same sardine can last year SFO - AKL.
