    No person was ever given less to accomplish a more difficult task than Gordon Cooper when it was time for re-entry. And he accomplished it with pinpoint accuracy that exceeded what most astronauts did with fully functioning crafts. A triumph!

      It certainly validated the Mercury Seven's lengthy fight to incorporate pilot control over the re-entry process.
