When you guys say you have a lead about, what do you do on waters where fish are really spooked easily? Do you just crack on an hope they will come back?
Light leads help. Working out of the fish are feeding or not also helps. Leading up on feeding fish is not ideal. If the lake is weedy it is important to find areas where you can present a hookbait well. Weed will also act as a comfort blanket and if there are weed beds close by the fish will often hide in them whilst you are leading up.
@@shauno0806OK. I've not long got back into carp fishing. Never done all this marker/lead work before. I assume the reward of getting your rig presented in the right spot correctly outweighs pushing the fish off for a short time. I'll have a crack at it.

@@hoarzy2517 swan is a bit further up the road from the rest for your garden to back on to all of them, yeah you could walk to any of them in minutes if you live there though. you'll have to be a right earner to afford them all though lol. apart from split and cp at ywf they aint all that anyway, especially the fas ones like south and match, tri lakes went downhill years ago and mill lane has declined, river valley is gone. i havnt fished sv for about 25 years so cant comment on that 1.
Always fancied going back to Yateley. When I was a kid, my dad took me there on the day ticket bank, sometime in the early 80’s I think, just maggot drowning back then, and caught a 1lb crucian carp :) Always say I’ve got a 100% record on Yateley, 1 visit 1 carp lol
Love the video but honestly see no point on fishing a lake where carp dont even fight they literally just get dragged in probably from how over fished the lake is just kinda seems boring to me 😴
Weedy waters are a joke. that would do my head in and it spoils the fishing you get 2 seconds of fighting then it weed itself up and comes in like a bream.. is it just me or is that bit pointless and a ball ache

Absolute piffle...the fish would of escaped without the cover and net safe....folded over net an a bank stick...... never had a fish escape in 52 years....products for the sake of products....more anglers caught by fishing tackle than there are fish caught....i include myself in that category..... stick to doing the quality necessities you are known for and stop praying on the wallet of people who dont know better.....that bank stick is in soft ground...the fish would easily take it with it...then its trapped in the net and destined to die....i can see that being banned....dont try to fix what aint broke

Use the lightest lead u can get away with and try feather the line to get the smallest splash

Is there an advantage to back reeling vs using the drag?
Yes it's more sensitive especially when they are near the net.
Always keeping pressure on the line and hook rather than having to spend seconds adjusting drag can really cost you good fish
