Thanks for the video. We did this hike on Easter Sunday and unfortunately they have rerouted the trail off of the first ridge on the Boston Hollow end. This section of the Nipmuck from Eastford Rd. to Bigelow Hollow S.P. has a special place in our hearts as it was blazed and maintained by my girlfriend's father for over 40 years. There is a small write up about him at the kiosks on Boston Hollow and Rt. 171 trailheads.

Beautiful hike. Really liked how that poem was on those steps. And nice job finding the phone. I bet that person was grateful!

    Hi John.
Very much enjoyed the beautiful scenery as well as getting to see some more blue blazes!
As usual, great job on the filming, narration, and production.
I was impressed with the trail folling the narrow ridge (at around 3:07), plus the diversity of short climbs and "rock hopping".
Some what reminds me of the AT in Maryland and PA.
    Thanks for your great work!

Ken, this section was pretty neat. The ridge in the beginning was the best part. We are very fortunate to have access to the Yale-my era Forest. I’m planning two more trips to wrap up the Nipmuck Trail. A day hike from Barlow Mill Road to Bigelow Hollow State park and then another backpacking trip in Bigelow Hollow State Park to finish the trail. Take care.

It's a nice hike there. The weather is nice and hiking is easy but there is still snow on the ground. Glad you found someone's phone, hopefully they came back to get it. 👍

Yes, I was able to met Ken after the hike and give him his phone back. He was very lucky his phone was set up to show an emergency contact and we were able to get it back to him.

That one was a little different than my usual film style due to the fact that I was leading a colleague from our office hiking club. I cut way back on the setup shots and focus on keeping the group moving. Fortunately my colluaege was a good sport and didn't mind being in the video. Snowball was a rock star!

@@OutdoorsWithJohnUSA Oh we understand this year has been different for our friends and family when we are camping or going places and we are trying to capture some footage. We are trying not to be annoying but also capture what we need it can sure be difficult at times. Some people really enjoy it!

Interesting quote. The creatures of the world are not burdened with our existential dread. But they also don’t have thumbs. Trade-offs.
