My name is Dave and I travel with my dog Bella in a 1987 Class A Motorhome. My channel is about full time RV Living in an older RV while keeping the wheels rolling on a budget. I do the repairs, updates and upgrades myself. I’ve become my own RV Mechanic/Medic! I seek boondocking opportunities every chance I can and power the RV with 500 watts of solar and approximately 500 amp hours of batteries. RV Resorts are just not our style!

Just take your time , do what’s comfortable to you😉
No point in rushing safety is important😊😊😊
Prevention is worth gold! No accidents with Bella, Bella girl on board.🤗 Of course, Mr. Dave you as well!🙏🤗
What a nice relaxing trip Dave & Bella with breathtaking scenery!!!
I agree, don't drive in a strong cross wind with a high profile vehicle. It's dangerous. Traveling should never be dangerous. Who cares how long it takes, better to make your destination alive rather than never at all.
I agree Dave just take your time no hurry and enjoy the trip that is the way I do it. makes it more enjoyable 👍👍
Like you said, it’s not a casual Sunday drive.
It’s WORK driving these things!
The wind makes it 100x harder to keep it straight!
Yep, it can be a real challenge, that's for sure.
Hey Dave!! Traveling with you !! Love it! Hugs to you and Bella. Take your time I like this traveling no rushing. A few miles no speeding and craziness. Wishing you and Bella all the very best from Southern Virginia. ❤❤🥰
Thank you so much! It's good to have you along! :)
Most important is to be safe, have a good trip👍🏼🙋🏼♀️
Safe travel Dave and bella ❤
Wind is murder in an RV. I updated the anti sway bars and it helped but still... Some of those gusts hit so hard it almost feels like something physically hitting the side of my Class C. Had a head wind in Wyoming once so strong I couldn't go over 30 MPH. I just gave up and stayed the night in Rawlins. Fighting to keep your rig in the lane is exhausting. If you're not in a hurry no need to deal with that.
12:47 welcome to the road life brother
😂😂😂 yep that’s me no rush not many miles either.. even then things can happen… we back home at farm in SW Mississippi… bent axel and tire issue so got get it repaired… might start looking for a class C hmmm….
❤❤I also hate driving in the strong wind, it's so exhausting 😊
It's not the journey but the stops along the way. North Carolina is cooling down this coming up week but beautiful weather. Stopping every two hours is about perfect for you and Bella.
You're right! Stopping is important. :)
I agree the wind on that route is tiring, even in a high top sprinter! ❤
We are currently in Southern NM which is notorious for high winds and dust storms. Can’t tell you how many rvers I see that shouldn’t be on the road for that very reason.
Hate driving in cross winds . They make you tired . Stay safe , have fun , give Bella a rub for me . Hope you find good roads in S. Carolina
Yes no big hurry. All depends on the day and how you feel. 👍 I always wish that I was on the road. Lucky you. Be safe! 😉
You're the man dave. Crosswinds kill. Be safe .
Hey Dave great to see you traveling again! We are paused at our home base in SC, on the coast pretty close to the NC/SC border. Heading to Florida then West in February. We don't drive in strong winds either, 40' class A, better safe than sorry. We have spent many a windy afternoon in a Walmart or rest area. The great thing about no specific plans!!
I agree, better safe than sorry! Have a great time in Florida.
Beautiful travel weather.
It could be windy but sunny. Stay safe both . Watching from nj.❤❤🙏🏻
Really enjoying your travels, Thanks
I'm glad you're enjoying the ride! 😄
Hello Dave , I would say you’re retired, or close to it. Like you said, don’t have to answer to anyone, no deadlines , no hurry . The wind is always a factor when traveling. You’re not alone, I’ve have had to pull over an take a break, safe travels, thanks for sharing!
Well, I remember driving my RV with the wind and pulling my Chevy Silverado pickup, I did the same thing just pulled off and parked. 36 foot RV + the pickup. Well, take care Dave and Bella as always "Enjoy The Adventure." 🤠👍
We are in parker az 75 in day 45 at night
Have a safe trip. !!!!
Safe travels, will be watching.
I lauged out loud at the end "no Semi Trucks".... as they come flooding in
I wish when you stopped in North Carolina. I live in Shelby North Carolina. I would buy you some dinner. Thanks for the great Videos.
I think the rule out west is a minimum of 10 hours in a rest area some are all nite but only one. It is a REST AREA after all!!
Enjoy the journey couple extra days don’t matter😊
So true driving in the wind
Glad you're having better weather minus the wind.
Hopefully this is the last of the strong wind. :)
Your set up looks good. Very clean. Have a wonderful trip!
Safe travels, you r your own boss, do what you want!!!! I long for the day I can say that too!
Thanks Dave.
great vid thans travel vlog thanks lee
I hate traveling in the motor home on windy days! It's exhausting and scary sometimes. We usually take at least 4 days to go from Michigan to central Florida and we feel like that is rushing it. We are not set up for boondocking so our first day is the "worst" as we have to get far enough south to find open campgrounds. Hope your next day is better traveling conditions!
When you travel past Princeton, WV. That's my stomping grounds.
Today 11-12-24 was absolutely beautiful. I ended up riding to Bristol, TN., and went to Bass Pro Shop/Cabelas. Buuut, by now you probably are in S.C.
Safe travels annd Thumbs up!😎👍
Some time’s you need to pull into an RV park and spend a few $$$ to be safe.
Dave, I am the same way on road trips 2 nights give you a full day! I've always wondered if you get royalties from A&W?😊
I love their Rootbeer floats!
Drive safely!
SAFETY FIRST...thxs for sharing...
Thanks for watching!
The wind is terrible here in Q also! Hopefully it'll die down for both of us LoL!! Safe travels! ~M
Poor Dave, he should try driving in our santa ana winds. Looking at the trees I'm guessing less than 15 mph, we get greater than 45 mph winds.
Better safe than sorry. No hurries is better anyway. 🙂👍
RT 81 in northern West Virginia is very mountainous and the wind can be nasty.
I'm retired too and I plan to give myself at least 10 days to get from Tampa Florida to Quartzite AZ. 350 miles a day is my limit. I never drive at night. I'm 67 and I'm in no hurry... LoL
I like your driving strategy! lol
Thanks for sharing
Breaker breaker Dave big Ten-Four there
Thank you very much
Enjoy the trip
Just a thought. Maybe you could go out to Quartzite and help out Blue Van Dan with his engine on his bus. Since you're so mechanically knowledgeable you could help him out. With his bad back it will be hard for him. Just a thought and an idea to help out a fellow nomad.
Hey Dave gas in South Carolina is $2.50. We're at Myrtle Beach State Park come on down.
Hopefully you’ll find more overnight parking as needed.
Dave i'm sure you'll make the best out of the west if thats where yer going but to do coastal louisana and east texas would be 10x more photogenic and more memorable. Lake Charles la is beautiful !! You can camp on the beach at cameron la for free. Sam Houston park neer Lake charles is like only 20 dollars a night with electricty. Its so nice out coastal louisana way, I don't see why anyone would go to the west.
Hi Dave and Bella! Looks nice today.
Blessed travels
Safe travels
Take it easy. The wind can be brutal.
That kinda wind can make annifreeze. You know when it blows up her dress. Hahaha I drove truck for 25 years and wind turns driving into tough stressful ordeal sometimes. Take your time Dave your not far till the mercury rises now. I envy you bigtime what a great life, just a dude and his bestfriend road trippin.
Yep, I hate it when it’s a white knuckle drive.
Hope you have a good journey south
Hey Dave… Tim and Jill here I met you down in Quartzsite, and Bella met my puppy Jill. I hope you put on your insulation on your doghouse cover on your RV. It’s been a couple years but I’ve been following you. I see you you’re headed back out. I’m stuck in Oregon. I had to put a motor in my RV, so I’m gonna skip a year before I head out on the road again. I’m found a cheap place to live so I’m following you man safe travels squeeze Bella for us Tim and Jill out… :-)
I hope to see you out again someday!
I also really do not like driving in the wind. It absolutely wears myself out after 3-4 hours.
Peace
New Orleans is kinda dangerous or I just dunno the places there that are safe. With that car of yours you could park at the town of raceland theres at truckstop and you could car visit grand isle shimpboat alley. Those people at the Truckstop are mighty friendly , The southern rout is far less traveled and just about unseen on Utube. There is morgan city, I guess named after the pirate captain and Burns point park another one thats on the beach but electricty and showers for 20 dollars. Louisana has a lot and ya really need ta take yer time and photo cause you'll really wanna rmemberthem places.

Safe travels to all.
I've been there and have an ancestor buried there.
My cousin and I headed to Florida last January and stopped there. It was a bit of a shock to see what prisoners of war have endured.
Safe travels to you and Bella. I enjoy your videos.
