That being said; Nintendo is seeing that Switch 1 hardware is probably selling BETTER than their initial forecast for this quarter as well as software (I think the announcement of epic 3rd party retro and past gen ports have something to do with it). So, now; Nintendo doesn't need to announce the next gen Switch until we'll after the holidays are over, maybe February we get an announcement. They tripling down on their holiday bundles and advertising for Switch 1 this holiday. Does it make any sense from a financial stand point to announce anything that would cannibalize those sales and give new customers "buyers regret"? They can delay the announcement, because at the end of the day; if they are so confident in what the next gen Switch is capable of and they know everyone will want one (including those with buyers remorse); then they can hold out for as long as possible, ESPECIALLY when the competition is falling apart. That said; the Switch to BETTER be EVERYTHING customers want AND MORE, for them to be so confident in what they are doing now.
Nintendo would have said that they have an announcement tomorrow but the main stream press in the UK is covering it so i believe it will be show by the end if the week more than likely

Also, the current sales of the Switch and its titles may be a factor in deciding when to announce the new console. If it's under-performing, then they may want to keep all their messaging focused on the current generation for the time being.
