It would be fun to buy old rocket radios on eBay and restore them to working condition. I'm just not clear on whether crystal earphones made today are reliable.

It is a great way to build a crystal set without soldering anything. Compact and can be used for future experiments...that last part is what I love about it the most.

After I've watched this video I really tought I have to get this. Today it finally arrived and it was verry fun to build and really amazing to have a powerless crystal radio. Thank you very much Todd for revewing this kit!

Your Welcome, did you get the "cat whisker" kit? I loved getting a signal off of the pyrite crystal.

Yes todderbert I've got the cat's whisker included and it is very neat to see how people listened to radio in the early 20s and 30s.

You would be a great TV science show/electronics show host. You could both do your own show and also have guests from many fields of study. You're very good at explaining fine details.

Thank you Chuck. That would be very neat indeed. Maybe I can collaborate with "guests" over youtube. A great time for sure.

I like your videos. But it would be nice to see you tune in some stations and let us get an ideal of the performance of the radios.
