  • Thrustmaster makes amazing products from the Warthog HOTAS to the Pendular Rudders. With this Yoke, however, I felt they went out of their comfort zone in an attempt to make another amazing product, which to me as an airline pilot... was not so "Thrustmaster" amazing.

Thanks for saying what needs to be said about this yoke! I feel other airline pilots on RUclips feel compelled to praise the product. Honestly, It's game hardware at sim hardware price, and you're right its definitely geared toward XBox users. My biggest gripe isn't even about the lack of checklist clip, or rattly switches... It's the BUILT-IN center deadzone on the roll axis T-Master decided to include. Anyways, the good news is that there's a lot of other hardware out there geared to sims and are at the training equipment level.. Russ Barlow did reviews on some really great yokes recently, check him out if you're not familiar. He's a retired pilot who talks about cutting edge sim gear.

Awesome info boss. Good to see you.
How would you compare it to the Honeycomb Alpha?

Hey bud! I’d recommend the Honeycomb yoke second gen if you can get it at a decent price. Since Honeycomb isn’t doing well right now, it’s hard to get their products! I got mine from Aerosoft and it came in the mail super fast from the UK. You’ll know it’s the second gen if it has the XBox button next to the spring loaded ignition key switch. Honeycomb yoke is what I primarily use to fly airliners and GA aircraft in Flight sim. Doesn’t have the nice pendular pitch axis like the TCA yoke, BUT the quality, functionality, and practicality of the Honeycomb yoke is so far ahead of the TCA, it’s not even in the same competition level… in my opinion. Get the Honeycomb Alpha!!

@AeroNerd :) Great info, sir! I had the fortune (or misfortune) of getting the V1 Alpha when it released. While great, there was definitely room for improvement, but I found it to be the best mid range at the time.
Did you ever try the MFG crosswinds? I have the v2 w/ dampener but the TMs have always interested me. Your notes of "what kind of plane were these things modeled for/after" made me laugh as I share the same opinion.

I was debating on the MFG crosswinds and the VIRPIL VPC Ace Rudders. But hopefully they will send me some to review. Until I get the money or if they send me some, I’m stuck with these TPR Thrustmaster rudders.

Yrs back I ordered the Thrustmaster pendular rudders and instantly sent them back. Yrs back I ordered and sent back the warthog stick. Thats close to $1000 dollars and thats insane. Gotta say the new AVA stick base looks way nice though.

Why did you send back the stick? That’s the one thing I thought was pretty good as well as the throttle. I did hear that the stick “sticks” and not buttery smooth as it should be. I think I just got lucky, because my stick and throttle has been buttery smooth without any sticking.
I too look forward to reviewing the AVA base if they send me one. I honestly don’t think it will beat VIRPIL’s T-50CM3 base though 🤔 and yes the pendular rudders are just… weird
