Just sharing an impromptu video about this AWESOME stuff I discovered recently! Rit Color Remover powder is WAY gentler and better than using bleach for clothes, plus it's very inexpensive and great for whitening or lightening clothes, removing stains, removing color bleed from other clothes, and works for all natural materials. Hope this is helpful :)

Use the rit color stay fixative after dying with rit dye to prevent bleeding and fading.
It’s interesting that it doesn’t affect the color in the appliqué.

Thanks so much for sharing this tip. I damaged my favorite White/Black hoodie by washing with a Red shirt and the red bled into my White hoodie. I’m going to give this a try. I hope it works for me.
This worked great but now the garment has a foul smell to it, I’ve washed it numerous times but still there. Going to try a cup of white vinegar in the washer and try washing it again. Any other suggestions?

Hi-does the intensity of the product change with the amount of powder used? I’m wondering if I could use this in a laundromat machine and only use a quarter pack -Trying to fade something about 50 percent
If you just wanted to remove a little bit of color like take a black shirt and fade it to like a faded black/grey would you just add a little bit of powder and Just remove the shirt when you see your desired color/fade?
I really don't know but I imagine it would more likely fade to an orange/brown since actual bleach turns black into its base of burnt to bright orange rather than a gray... I can do a video in the future testing it out, though :) or you can always test this using a piece of black material or a cheap black t-shirt in the same material of the one you want to change, to see what happens and know for sure.

Does this work on polyester? I fucked up my bra by washing it together with some balck leggings... I ordered some Rit dye hopefully will be fine

Did you find any of your cotton items shrunk?
Nope, but then again, all of my items were pre-washed I believe... I would definitely anticipate something 100% cotton to shrink somewhat since it's being soaked in super hot water in this process. In that case, I would just avoid putting it in the dryer after washing to at least minimize potential shrinkage
Could I use this on a stuffed animal?
Everything depends on the material you're using - but this has me so curious to test out! 😆😆

what did you do about the smell?
It was mainly just during the soaking process and totally went away after washing/drying (to wash, I just used mild fragrance free detergent and oxyclean and then added some distilled white vinegar at the rinse cycle. Then dried as usual) ☺️
I dyed my favorite black jeans with the black rit dye to try to refresh them and they came out a dark purple. Would the remover help remove some of the purple undertones?
It should!! Just keep an eye on them as you're processing to take them out in time to where they don't get too much (or any) of the original black... I wouldn't think you'd go anywhere near the full suggested time at all, maybe not even half.. good luck!!
