Is no one going to mention how much blood, sweat and tears were poured into making these sets? Like, unless you know you were on a set, you would think you were in an actual fuctioning city or town. Everything is perfect.
@@megandunnett7900 Going to Universal Studios is on my Bucket List Of Places I would Love to go, Right Next To Disney World, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Sea world too.
As a kid in the 60s, i have very fond memories of taking the Universal Studios tour before it was a Theme Park. The modern tour is cool too but i will never forget the experience of being there in the 60s.
I was around 14, when I took the tour in the mid-late 1960s. Back then, the tram tour seemed to last at least 2-3 hours....with several stops along the way. Our guide walked us thru sets, explained some of the 'magic' behind the filmmaking process & conducted demonstrations. Really wish I could relive that wonderful experience. I visited for the 2nd time, in the late 1990s. The tram ride was extremely short, with NO stops. or walk-thrus. The place was more a collection of amusement park rides, than a movie studio.
Agreed. My first time there was 1990 and the tram tour was much less "amusement park" then. I prefer the Warner Bros. tram tour, though that one isn't what it used to be either.
I worked there back in 1973 for a whole summer. You pretty much had to know someone who worked there to get you a job. I loved the tour and remember it was quite long. I worked in the gift shops and souvenir/film booths. The tourists would swarm the souvenir booths to buy film, souvenir booklets etc. it would get crazy, people grabbing and pushing to buy stuff. I enjoyed working in this one glass blowing booth and got to paint some of the glass animals and other figurines. Back then, there was only a single tram ride. This was before the Jaws movie. Such great memories of an iconic place!
I went in 1998. I had the pleasure of experiencing King Kong (now burned down) and "Back to the future the ride" (now retired). Good memories. I'd wish I could just roam around and look behind every window and every door. 🙂
I'm a Huge Universal Movies Fan, I have an entire collection of Universal Movies, in the bookshelves of the Family Movie Room of my house, I've got them on VHS, DVD, and Blu-Ray, I've Got Live Action, Comedy, Horror, and Animated Movies, Whenever it's Snowing outside, There's Nothing on TV, I would go to the Family Movie Room Of My House, Pick out a Universal Movie, Sit down on the Couch with a bowl of Hot Popcorn on my lap, a Candy Bar, and a Soda Pop, Just Watch The Universal Movie, and my top 30 all time favorite universal movie is, 30. I went there one an organized tour for teens ( i live in France ) and I was annoyed by the fact that we were gonna do a tour instead of going on the rides. But I quickly realized that this tour was way more than what I thought it was and it ended up being one of the best parts of the day at Universal studios
Thanks ..tears in my eyes..been in florida 20 years ago with my family.. Its a magic world. Hope to get there in a couple of years. No one understand when this kind of stuff is the moment of happines in my life
Love, love, love the concept of the Studio Tour - it's really what differentiates this park from Universal's other ones. I'm not liking the increasing reliance on screens though...give me more sets!
Omgosh, thank you so much for this video. The one place ive always wanted to go to, i get to see everything (almost? probably?) from the comfort of my lounge. This video saved 2020 for me. Thank you again 🙏

I love the studio tour. It shares a set tour but also includes cool stuff like the King Kong, Flooding street, and Cars from the movies. I’m going tomorrow and I really want to go on this tour.
Time stamps for cool stuff 6:35 King Kong 9:07 Movie Cars 10:03 Jurassic Park 12:30 Flooding Street 16:13 Earthquake 18:57 Jaws 22:29 Whoville (not in session now) 23:11 Murder Guy 24:21 Plane Crash 26:24 Fast and Furious
As someone who has visited both California and Florida Universal Studios, I feel the better of the two properties is, without a doubt, the California property. With each visit, additions have occurred, sets have been repainted to meet the needs of the current filming location, and changes occur often. I must give kudos to the tram spokespersons as they accentuate the views, bringing back the movie memorabilia to the young and old. Thank you.
I think it depends on what your focus is. If you're going for studio tours and stuff, yeah, CA is the way to go. But if you're there specifically for the Harry Potter park? It's Orlando all the way. Not only is it significantly bigger and has better rides, the entire atmosphere is different. In Orlando you can cosplay and immerse yourself in the magic of it all. Hollywood has way more of a "too cool for that" vibe. I wouldn't turn down an opportunity to visit either park, but deciding which one is "best" really does mean looking at what you want/expect out of your visit.
More like $90-100 hahaha Ticket prices are RIDICULOUS.... What's worse, esp. with Disney, they have multiple parks, so you're paying that amount PER PARK. Even if you get some kind of bundle / package, you can maybe save a LITTLE money, smh.
After the fire on the backlot that destroyed a lot, it would've been great if they rebuilt the courthouse like it was seen in Back to the Future. I bet the people on the tour are wondering why it doesn't look like in the movie.
Thr way the courthouse looks now is because they changed it for Ghost Whisperer. But actually they just built the new front(facade) in front of the original. If you look in the front door you can still see the original columns from the courthouse. There are some cool videos of this on RUclips.
Oh wow, they have definitely added new stuff since I last went which was 8 years ago. I don't remember my experience of the Studio Tour being this exciting hmmm what a pity hahah. Hope to revisit in the future !
Me and wifey did this tour three years ago and of all of universal we like this best! Then we did the wb your after we left. That was definitely more hands on, but both were great!
While still a fun tour, it was ten times better during the 80's - 90's! BUT the 3D effects are something to see to appreciate it! But still liked the old tours, you got to go into makeup rooms and dressing rooms, etc., and way longer and cheaper than today! They gave you more for less money.
Don't come after me, but I wasn't really into the Fast & the Furious franchise that I was a little sad I think they replaced that part of the ride with it that used to have the King Kong attraction. I know I've heard many stories that it burned down, but I'm just bummed they couldn't replace it and make it better instead of putting in THIS with just screens everywhere. At least they kept Jaws, but the King Kong animatronic just blew me away when I was little. I wish they could've kept it in the tram tour. I guess they have to keep updating it with more current movies. ☹️
The lot burned down in the middle of a recession, there was simply no way that they would have spent tens of millions of dollars to rebuild it like the old one.
Wish I was there right now! Last time I was there they were still doing the stupid “Fast And The Furious” version - so glad to see that wasn’t permanent and it’s back to normal!
What is your favorite part of the Universal Studios tour? Let us know in the comments below!
Def earthquake the big one
Mines is the King Kong faf and earthquake
Fast and Furious Supercharged.
They recently tore down How the Grinch stole Christmas set unknown which will replace it

Is no one going to mention how much blood, sweat and tears were poured into making these sets? Like, unless you know you were on a set, you would think you were in an actual fuctioning city or town. Everything is perfect.
Nah, you would know you were on a set, everything was far too clean to be lived in.
I think this is the theme park, not the actual studio
@@Mattcai2004 no it’s the actual sets used for films. It is a ride at the theme park, but still actual sets.
@@megandunnett7900 Going to Universal Studios is on my Bucket List Of Places I would Love to go, Right Next To Disney World, Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Sea world too.
@@kathymoriarty1441 well you need to go to California to get the true universal experience and also imo Disneyland is far better then Disney world.
This is definitely the mother of all studio tours I've ever seen. And that Doctor Brown at the very beginning really does look like the real one!!
From the side, wow he really does look like him!! They needed to age him up with some cosmetics and given him wayyyyy more wrinkles 😆
Yup pretty sure
