You didnt understand😑. We use it for modding, many times you need to take the sd card out and put it on the pc to install modding stuff, of course if you just use it normally taking the sd card out is useless
The only thing I like about the problem with the SD card on the new Nintendo 3ds xl is how it won’t fall out because when I had my 2ds xl the sad card fell out and my whole system was gone.
you'll completely mess up the back cover screws taking it off so many times as soon as i modded mine to be wireless it broke and didn't want to snap back into place
I put a 128gb sd into my new 3ds xl and have never ran into any storage problems since. I've now ran into the problem of having too many games and the icons stop showing on the home menu...
Back when my 3DS and DSi were my only cameras (i didn't have a cellphone as a kid) yeah, i definitely took it in and out a lot for pictures and screenshots.
@@starspeculation new Nintendo 3ds dropped in like 2015, people were using their phones by then, so that argument really wouldn’t apply to this edition of the 3ds.
Personally, I pull out the SD card a lot to dump my Pokémon save files. Especially when I need to trade mons, I do using emulator on PC , because I only got one 3DS.
Oh I know. My childhood New 3Ds XL broke so I got a standard 3Ds XL to replace it….needless to say my childhood is no longer accessible. (Especially after I lost the card…) Btw the New XL vs original XL don’t transfer data between each other even if you put the card in it.
yeah fr since i mod my 3ds occasionally i just dont put the screws back on i also kinda lost them already but i have no intent of putting it back anyways. and the back plate snaps into place anyways so its just really convenient not having screws
When I first. "Removed my SD card" I did it so much my back piece had chips in the paint and the parts where the screws were fell off. If anyone can give me a good tutorial or anything like that that shows a restoration of such things fixing the R button because of my child decided to spill juice in the R button specifically somehow and putting plastic pieces back on all while having the parts you'll need in the description then please tell me the video I've been using this thing sense they first dropped the New 3DS XL. I had a regular black 3DS way back when it first dropped too. Took great care of each one. Screens are absolutely beautiful. I really just need to restore paint plastic parts and the R button.
This is why I've been considering a 2ds xl lmao, they have a flap for it. i have an og 3DS but with hshop I've not been taking the SD card out since i initially modded it, but then again I've not loaded any DS games or badges, I'm sure it'll be annoying if i used those alot.
I bought a 64 GB SD card stuck it in there and I've never had any reason to remove it. Getting the panel off was a pain in the ace when the battery went bad.
The new 3ds systems can act as a network storage device natively. Seems like a very little known feature. It's called microSD management and is found in the data management menu. I use it all the time. Transfer is a bit slow, but it beats having to unscrew the bottom panel
My guess for screwed on back panel, is the switch from full size SD to MicroSD when it was still kind of new enough that a lot of parents might have been worried about a choking hazard.
I mean dissasemble the system is a stretch its just a few screws, but yeah it was a dumb move, but now you can just keep it open while modding it, use hshop to install everything, and never worry about opening it again
I was bouta go off on this and then u mentioned so cards. Dude modding these as often as i do it is so freaking annoying having to take on and off the back plate
My 3ds xl has an easily accessible sd slot on the side... maybe the animal crossing version is special? It doesn't have the little vestigial joystick near the ABXY buttons either.
I’ve got a 32 gig card never needed to swap it out before ever in all the years I’ve had it. Majority of my collection physical though I have games like steam dig 1-2 animal crossing from eshop
Well if you put a 64 gb or 512gb sd in a 3ds, you shouldn't have to worry about changing it, i rarely ever took my sd card out and thats just to put it in a pc...
Buy a bigger sd card and format it correctly never open it again. The cards are smaller and children might lose or steal them. Not an oversight literally everyone does this, switch also does it but its hidden under the leg.

I suggest using FTPD for putting files on your 3ds even though its a little slow i use it and it expands the lifespan of the sd card slot
Bingo I did it pretty late but we'll worth it
What? You don’t even have to do allat, just manage the SD card from your settings, it’s SMB
@@naraydaniels7832 i don't think you can transfer files from your pc to your 3ds that way
Don't even mention accidentally stripping your screws as well.
That is painful.
"Raises hand slowly"
I just leave mine loose so I can take it off whenever
My cover is somehow holding on despite a missing screw 😂
I think its fine cuz the cover comes off easily with the tabs on the sides and it makes it look cleaner
128gb+ftpd = no reason to remove any back plate except for a battery change occasionally.
Based
You could leave the screws out and put the back panel and case back on.
The screws don’t come all the way out though
@@My.only_unbanned-account you can just take off the thing holding the screw in
I ripped my screws out
This is why I always have a high capacity SD card (32GB+) in my 3DS. I also rarely need to transfer or back up any files.

It literally takes the smallest amount of effort to access the Micro SD card, plus it’s not like you have to access it every day.

This isn’t an exclusive issue for the n3ds xl since the n3ds also had this flaw
I just use file transfer over my Wi-Fi network. Can access your own New 3DS XL as if it were a server from your PC.

I just leave the screws out so I can just pop the back off whenever I need the sd card
Get an extender (not a permanent upgrade) and a case that has a spot for that extender
