The real topic her is not the competence some people display at their work - that should be kind of normal, for any craft. The topic is the delusional level of mystification they all seem (and hence us, who herald 'them' as heroes or models of behavior) to bequeath on one another. It's a selfish act of self aggrandizement, masquerading as praise.
Not that I am, mesmerized, but why? What is the harm? And I do, appreciate anyone's expertise in whatever their field. I also believe, working in a field, you gain an appreciation for excellence when you do see it, in that field. I just don't see the harm, nor the self-aggrandizement, in stating that appreciation nor the harm in pointing out why.
Appreciate ur opinion. But other people have different thoughts about this. We are happy to appreacite movie stars and musicians. They kind of serce as an inspiration. Other people just do it to the extremes. But that's not all of us. Lets just respect each other's stand. not try shove our ideals on other's throats. Or be too preachy about it

Oh, I think here we can allow a genuine appreciation for Blanchett's acting and her ability to articulate a well thought out opinion now and then.
