You're really good at analyzing songs correctly. Very impressive! Yes, Judith was Maynard's mom, a devout Christian, who was paralyzed and never gave up on her God.
I'm not a huge Tool or Perfect Circle guy, but this song hits like a nuke. Absolutely love it.
You ever hear Maynard's remake of Bohemian Rhapsody?
From his other band Puscifer. The video is odd but the song is as close to the original I've ever heard. Beautiful
Thanks, Sceez! I love watching your reactions to my favorite songs! And you hit this one out of the park. His mother was religious. I had a very strict religious upbringing and it messed me up. When I heard this song I felt seen. Keep rockin!
Right on brother, I left religion 40 yrs ago
So you may or may not already know this but Maynard is also the singer from Tool. You should do the Tool songs next, Wings for Marie, Pt1 and Pt2. (at the same time) Which he made for her after she passed away.
Maynard James Keenan is a genius! The song is about how Maynard couldn’t understand why his mother still had faith in God when she was stricken by a massive stroke. Check out Puscifier The Mission with Milla Jovavich of Resident Evil fame.
🔥🔥🔥Love APC. Anything with Maynard, can't miss. Tool, APC, Puscifer. Jen knows good vibes 🤘🏼
Would be awesome to see him react to Cuntry Boner by Puscifer!
Mad at god for his mom, Judith: His mom was a religious woman who became paralyzed and died 10,000 days after being paralyzed.
Allegedly
Interesting. I almost didn't click on this song. We should never be afraid to at least listen to the other sides view point. You surprised me. I surprised myself. Lol.
The dammed truth is just TRUE!
💯
I appreciate that you take the time to not only hear that he is saying "Fuck your god", but seeing the perspective of it and understanding the message. Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a vegetable, wisdom is knowing that a tomato does not belong on a fruit salad.
🐐 song!
After her health failed his mom was shunned apparently. Her congregation (or some of them maybe?) shunned her and acted like her stroke was due to a sin she hadn't repented from or something. I can't remember all the details, but I always interpreted it as him being specifically angry at that group, what happened to his mom, and a god that would call that righteous behavior.
Maybe he believes in capital g God and was being specific. Hard to be certain. Either way it's a very moving song. Thanks for sharing!
I just caught this: GOOD REACTION. APC has a way of putting one In a mood. Whatever it is.
This song always reminds me of the victims of a natural disaster who thank their god when they find a survivor, but never question why...
YESSSS SO HAPPY TO SEE THIS. YOU OBVIOUSLY KNOW YOUR SHIT. MAYNORD IS A GOD
APC is one of my favorite bands, ever. This song is about Maynards' mother Judith, who was a devout Christian, and sadly, was paralyzed. Great Song. Wish you had done the video of them playing it. You would like it. Full On Badassery. 😏
🎯🤘
I love a perfect circle. The Noose is my favorite.
The Noose is my favorite from 13th Step. Then 'Blue', or 'The Nurse Who Loved Me'.... Toss Up, imo. The whole album is a vibe. Tells a story, in trademark Maynard genius fashion. Every APC Album is pure fire.
🔥😜🤘🔥
I love the Noose, too. It was going to be my next request so hopefully he’ll do it soon!
It's about his mother and being raised in a strict religion under his parents
Wings for Marie 1 &2 .. from TOOL you need to do this , it’s on 10,000 days the album. It’s about his mother Judith Marie’s passing. Such an emotional song and an absolute masterpiece both lyrically and melodically. Great reaction brother , keep it cool 🤘🏼
CONGRATS - you still have the ability to THINK straight & narrow! (smoke weed every day) LOL Love your reactions bro!
I loved seeing TOOL lift you out of yourself for a moment. Question shit, it's okay. Love you, my son. Peace.
I love your deep analysis of the meaning, and that you were willing to share your applicable experience. ❤ Thank you so much for that!!
Sorry to hear about your friend. Had some things I had to go through too but I haven't counted God out yet. Yo I wish you would react to a song called One Armed Scissor by At The Drive In. Yo the song is so lit I promise you. And yes man keep going in on A Perfect Circle, great band
Love your analysis. Makes sense
Instant classic reaction for me lol
Man, I feel you on this one, much love
Sometimes our beliefs become so much a part of who we are that we refuse to acknowledge how clearly untrue they are. Human nature is a mf'er.
APC - Pet. is a great one
🔥🔥🔥
It's a song about his frustrations when his mother, who was very religious, got sick.
THE OUTSIDER is TOTALLY my kid's dad!!!
I've watched a lot of your reactions.
This one was my favorite. I appreciate that you understood.
And I'm not saying you agreed with the song, I don't know if you did or not. But I just have a feeling from my own experiences that someone probably had to have a lot go on in their life in order to view this song the way I do and it seems you do.
I don't know if that makes sense.
Basically, it's difficult to understand anyone believing in any god that would punish them when they didn't do anything wrong.
It's not like you killed someone.
And I'm not trying to insult anyone that believes in God, that's none of my business.
This is a song about his mom. Tool wings for Marie. Expands this story more. Very in depth. Tool has the greatest music ever and perfect circle iis pretty decent as well. Good reaction.
I just found your channel bro so I'll probably comment on quite a few video in a short span but all imma say about the "let the jehova witnesses hear that" comment, search Tool fan rushes stage and you'll see why that's a bad idea 🤣 he's a black belt in jujitsu lol
The only reason we stopped believing in Santa is because someone told us not to. With "god," it's still a myth - but we have a chorus still telling us it's real. There is no Easter bunny, there is nothing guiding right and wrong here, just us. It's all up to us. Stop waiting on a savior.
I enjoyed the video and thanks for posting it but all I can say is you missed out not watching the official video. The Bass player is sexier than dammit. Cheers!
More tool my friend please
This song is my spirit animal. I hate the control game that is religion. My sister died of cancer and was ultra religious. I respected her beliefs during the ordeal but in my mind I just kept thinking all the praying and weeping isn’t helping shit. She was a faithful follower and that’s how she got rewarded? It’s all made up imaginary bs. I wish people would use their little pea brains to do their own research instead of listening to someone in the front of the room who barely knows the Bible more than they do. I would go to church if they promised me they would preach about all the horrible things god did even to his own people.
(LA Leakers Ray Vaughn) Bars Bars Bars Bars Bars Bars Bars!!!!!
I was raised in a very very strict Catholic household 50+ yrs ago yet all my family members were sinners & my mother who was the most religious suffered from diabeetus, kidney cancer & 4 strokes in her 60s yet still gave her soul to an invisible imaginary friend so this song hits home! I left religion 40 yrs ago & got shunned by most of my family ✌💖☮
Glad you made it out! I’m still dealing with some of the religious trauma I experienced. I swore I wouldn’t do that to my kids. And I’m happy to say they can be whoever they want to be 😄
@@Jdub_79 Right on, I raised all 3 of my kids the same way to choose what they wanted & I would not judge them unlike religious freaks
"He did it all for you" means two different things.
1) Jesus died on the cross FOR YOU.
2) She gave herself to faith, and Jesus did it FOR HER. What did he do? He left her paralyzed with no answers, wasting life away, when she could have been touring with her son, and loved by friends and family.
Jesus took away Maynards mother away from Maynard.
This is cringe...
