These days the writers get criticized if they make characters like those 'sweet and innocent kind' (cause people don't like them) There's a lot of badass girl kinds (for example "Itaewon Class") Even the second and third movie/drama mentioned in this video was really popular. Maybe the ones you're seeing are dramas years ago;; Don't say things definitely if you don't really know. (sorry I'm just frustrated by a lot of international comments saying things as if they know when they don't really know it properly)

From a practical point, I think cutting the hair to a shorter length would just be a way for them to be able to maneuver better and more efficiently.
