Thanks for reacting to this one! Fun to work on Arknights music as always. Also, check out my friend p. kruise who sang on this track; he's a fantastic artist/vocalist!
This song is basically the response of the new generation to Stultifer Cantus, The Song of Fools. Or as most know it: The Golden Age Will Return Again. That song clung to The Before, lamenting the Great Silence that had fallen over the nation of Iberia since then. This song looks towards The After with positivity that A New Golden Age will come. And I just absolutely adore it. I don't know how the song fits into the timeline, but it did drop shortly before a new event was revealed for CN. With a completely unrelated story. Yet. With how both Under Tides and Stultifera Navis are categorised, I very much believe that this song is the bridge towards the next event in the line and just maybe preparing us for Something Great since they implicitly promise relevance to the main story.
that bridge may connect to the foreshadowed aegir event from TERRA EXPLORATION 3.0 wonder if that will be our last and complete chapter for seaborn as a whole
I should clarify. I know that it is after Stultifera Navis, but there's also a greater Arknights Timeline and I have no idea how all these events fit anywhere on there. Is this a month after Stultifera Navis? A year? They are on a boat. Where to? Aren't those kind of a big nono in that region? That kind of stuff on the timeline. Basically "What has happened for them to be where they are in the video?" Not to mention that a bunch of events are more than likely parallel because they don't involve the Doctor. Plus our very own Landships where we collect our Operators and create our Squads is its own thing entirely. Penance, Vigil and Texas Alter are all in Siracusa right now according to the ending of Il Siracusano. Yet they are also on our Landships. These two things are separate and I have no idea how everything fits onto the timeline proper.
@@karkar3647 I'm still waiting on the actual Main Story Chapter, truth be told. I have no idea how these things work usually (playing since February) and the other Intermezzi seem to provide backstory to W and Kal'tsit respectively. While Under Tides and Stultifera Navis are giving us a continuous story for the moment and take place after Skadi and Specter have arrived on the Landship (haven't finished Under Tides yet and waiting on the SN rerun to get that experience) at the very least. Meaning they are (much) more recent. So I have to ask: What comes after this foreshadowed third Ægir event? Or will it begin the Main Theme Chapter to confront We Many?
@@nestrior7733 this is pretty easy to see since their onboard voiceline or their files either straight up told you why they're there or what role they had to be in RI on that moment, ofc we dont know the date we just know its prob in the future and its not permanent and most of them are temporary with just cooperation of factions or just a part time job obv gameplay with squad are just mechanics and not lore and for this pv well we dont know if they really canon or not honestly since its more of an artistic choice imo not to say they might be actually canon like who knows prelude to aegir event or after aegir event would fit since its a hopeful song of a better day
@@nestrior7733 so intermezzi is kinda tricky cause i dont think we have a proper description for it but its roughly the important side events that connects to the main character or a very huge history piece of terra like under tides and SN, im not sure if these big event gonna be a prelude before them being a main story chapter or not, if our next arc about aegir then that gonna be a confirmation oh almost forgot intermezzi doesnt necessarily connects with eachother, only under tides and SN are connected, the rest are either connected with normal side story or main chapter, being new figuring out the timeline gonna be tough we usually just based it on wether they're after s main story arc or before and stuff with under tides should be beyond even the 2nd arc of main chapter
Under Tides and Stultifera Navis focus on the seaborn threat, but takes place in the nation of Iberia. I think this is supposed to be a song about what Iberia used to be before the seaborns, which would explain why this is so different.
The generation that were kids before the profound silence all grown up being nostalgic because things were a lot better back then for Iberia than it is now. Also expressing a desire to rebuild Iberia and bring back the golden age, common Iberian coping mechanism
So the way I interpret it, Under Tides is about the Seaborn, Golden Age is about returning to the way things were before the Great Silence in Iberia, and Before & After is the youth of Iberia looking to the future rather than the past.
Yeah, this is just the generation during the profound silence all grown up being nostalgic about their childhoods, because they KNOW how good things were back then. The song also expresses a desire that the golden age will come back. (Iberians coping as usual)
@@getderpified1402 Living in the past is treacherous, it's actually holding Ibera back more than it is driving it. Everyone just moping about how good it was back then. Why do anything if it isn't even close to what we did back then? The leap is too far. But having hope and doing it bit by bit, little by little? That might just work. That's this song.
There are some connections between this song and under tides / stultifera navis, but the main one is that these three guys are from the country those events take place in. Simple breakdown: Iberia = arknights country that is somewhat analogous to Spain/Portugal Iberia's Golden Age = back when Iberia was one if the world powers The Great Silence = huge cataclysmic disaster that nearly destroyed Iberia Obviously there are more details, but thats the gist of it. Three young men reminiscing about their home and their hopes for a better tomorrow.
Details because I can't help myself and I know you don't want to start playing a gacha game: Much of Iberia's power was in their large navy and their technological advancements brought by the aegir (fish people) who came from the oceans. The great silence was like a mega tsunami 60 years ago that was caused by supernatural forces that wiped out most of its fleet and coastal technologies... And more generic huge loss of life and infrastructure. This alone would have been bad enough, but after this the country was overcome with paranoia that the aegir who came from the ocean caused the disaster. The "Iberian Inquisition" was formed and many aegir were rounded up and never seen again..plenty of them fled the country too. The nation is still semi-closed to this day. Since the tech advancements came from the people being discriminated against, recovery has been slow too. Two out of the three guys in this video are Aegir, so they have an especially complex relationship with the only homeland they've ever had that views them as outsiders. So this song is sort of... Them reflecting on their country in a lil boy band bop.
You are right that this song does have a sort of connection to the past two events in a way. How under tides was speaking of the present and stiltifera Navis was sort of hinting the past. This in a way sort of speaks of the new generation looking towards the future and rebuilding Iberia to its once glory days that they heard of. If I got anything wrong guys please feel free to add on or correct ne
yeah the guy in the middle made his first appearance in stultifera navis so should be after that - though part of the difference in how it sounds is he was not part of the main-main cast with their own drama you will maybe see if you get to his theme song from the SN-event eventually^^ mfg Olli

"The world is yours and ours, but in the final analysis it is yours. You young people are full of vitality and are in a period of prosperity, like the sun at eight or 09:00 in the morning. The hope depends on you. " Iberia, a country made of gold. How brilliant and beautiful the era that belongs to it used to be? But everything will eventually pass with the waves, and the waves will run to the East China Sea and never look back. Fortunately, in this mess of ruins, the young people who belong to it have not been bent and numbed by the same responsibilities and years as the older generation. The Iberians... Even if the future is out of reach, chase the rising sun like a fool.
one thing that could make this song better is if it were made more like a boyband song, as in more than 1 singer, making it so like it was those 3 characters were the ones singing the song.
Is there an upper limit to what we can confine to the labels of "bop" and "vibe"? If so, this is definitely threatening to transcend them. Like holy shit. I don't think this song is directly related to any from Stultifera Navis or Under Tides. I know next to nothing about it, but thinking about the lyrics and seeing the characters in the video, I presume it's something of a character theme for them. Those characters are all Iberian, so I think the song is depicting their memories of the past and hope for the future of Iberia. Basically a brighter, warmer, more laidback expression of the same hope conveyed in Stultifera Cantus ("that one Golden Age song" lmao). There's so much warmth the song feels like it's directly fighting the goosebumps my body is trying to give me lmfao also after reading elsewhere some of your concerns about the disparity between the popularity of your arknights/genshin reaction content and other stuff, i felt like mentioning Personally I just watch your Arknights content because that's music I'm already interested in.
